The Geolandar A/T4 is Yokohama's On-Road All-Terrain tire created for drivers of light trucks, crossovers and SUVs looking for a durable tire that’s composed and sophisticated on-road, yet capable of withstanding some occasional off-road action. All while providing long tread life and light snow traction sufficient to earn the tire industry's severe snow service rating, allowing it to display the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
Yokohama's Enduro-Compound utilizes a Triple Polymer Blend for long wear and enhanced cut and chip resistance molded into a symmetric tread compound. Aggressively angled central tread lugs are designed to flex and search for optimal grip on uneven surfaces while the shoulder blocks serve double duty in assisting with reliable off-road traction, yet reducing pattern noise when the adventure returns to more civilized roads. An optimized tread design includes deep circumferential grooves to expel water and prevent hydroplaning, along with sipes and lug grooves meticulously crafted to enhance the number of biting edges for all-season traction even in light snow conditions.
Thick, over-the-shoulder sidewall protectors guard against punctures and impacts, and with a different design on each side, drivers have the option to further customize their vehicle by mounting one of two distinct sidewall designs to showcase their individual style.
The tire's internal construction consists of two high-tensile steel belts reinforced with a full nylon cap ply to blend stability with ride comfort on top of a robust two-ply polyester cord casing with a high turn-up for additional sidewall strength in the toughest conditions.
Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

...Dry grip is super in both cornering and braking, and while we haven't driven them in heavy rain conditions yet, wet grip feels great as well...
What a great tire for the SQ5--seems to be a perfect match for the additional weight and higher center of gravity of a performance SUV. These replaced the OE Latitude Sports, and even with new-tire tread depth, the Pilot Sport 4 SUV has so much better steering response and cornering stability--they seem to provide this great feel and grip effortlessly, reflecting engineering and construction matched to SUV requirements. Dry grip is super in both cornering and braking, and while we haven't driven them in heavy rain conditions yet, wet grip feels great as well. The tires track perfectly on the straights and run so smooth with a minimum of wheel weights (installed by our Audi dealer).
I was almost ready to buy Pilot Sport 4S's but had some concerns about the height & weight of the SQ5, so was really happy to see this tire introduced at just the right time. The Pilot Sport 4 SUV really seems perfect on this vehicle--just the tire for the twisty mountain roads here in WNC and North GA!

Swapped them with the OEM RFT's...and MAN!!!!!!! The difference is day and night. The handling is CRISP, Handled heavy rain like a CHAMP, Brakes like a STUCK-UP a** :) and noise in the cabin is GONE...Price is definitely on the higher side, although if you look around you could knock around$60 off each tire...So happy to have found this!

...They stick in the dry. They stick under heavy breaking, the stick in the corners, and most of all they do it just as good in the rain...
Trying to find a good tire for a crossover vehicle was a fun challenge. So, I went on the search at my favorite tire store, Tire Rack. Found some good candidates but the Michelin Pilot Sport for SUV's stuck out to me over the other tires. So far, I can say these are the best pair of Michelins I've ever owned. Florida driving is usually hot and dry, with the afternoon showers for a couple hours then back to hot, sunny and humid. These tires are exactly what is needed in this climate. They stick in the dry. They stick under heavy breaking, the stick in the corners, and most of all they do it just as good in the rain. I have no feedback for winter conditions.

Customers overwhelmingly rate the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV's dry traction as excellent, with most scoring 9s and 10s. High marks highlight precise steering, confident cornering stability, and exceptional grip in summer conditions. A few ratings between 7-8 suggest minor variability, but overall performance aligns perfectly with its sport-focused design.

These tires on my Macan S are SUPER... Enjoyable difference in driving and they are very quiet...
These tires on my Macan S are SUPER. I run a set of pure winter tires and wheels. So, why just run all season tires the rest of the time when not needed. I run Pilot Sport tires on my GT3 so why not try them on the Macan S. Enjoyable difference in driving and they are very quiet. I’ll borrow from Steppenwolf here — it’s like you are on a magic carpet ride. Thanks to Jim at Tire Rack.

This is the second set of Pilot Sport 4 SUV's and they work extremely well for our 2015 Audi SQ5. We live in the mountains of Western North Carolina and the majority of our driving is on the twisties of the secondary roads in WNC & N GA, and most of our driving is Spirited. Our SQ5 has been modified with H&R Sport Springs, Bilstein Sport shocks & struts, APR stage 1 (93 Octane) ECU tune and matching APR TCU upgrade, and the suspension mods work extremely well with these tires. Turn-in and grip are both excellent and the tires seem to be a perfect match for the SQ5's handling qualities, which have been greatly enhanced by the sport springs & shocks, (firm but not harsh and have lowered the ride height from stock by 2" front / 1 1/2" rear. We got 25K miles out of the first set of Pilot Sport 4 SUV's and this set appears to be headed for the same level of tire wear.

...In dry weather the tire is outstanding with great traction and cornering...
Very confident in this tire. Have not driven it at high speed through standing water, but never felt any inkling of hydroplaning or any loss of traction in a wet weather driving. RS Q8 is a heavy vehicle so that may have contributed to the confidence. In dry weather the tire is outstanding with great traction and cornering. Extremely quiet. Probably the best heavy SUV tire I have ever had. Have not driven it in extreme cold or snow.

Great tires for the money. The wife put about 12-14,000 miles on them last year and they seem to be about half worn. Even wear amount all 4 tires and very little road noise compared to the OEM hankooks. Hoping to get this year out of them and will definitely purchase them again. The 10spd trans in the expo can get a little spirited and these handle the high torque very will. Rain traction is perfect and I feel they are the best tires I can put on the car to keep my family safe. Blizzaks in the winter, pilot pros in the summer. Winning combination for a 7,000lb tuned SUV.

I now have 18,000 miles on them and still have an estimated 10,000 miles left!
I purchased a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV XL 255/40R-21 tires for my 2014 Audi SQ5 in December of 2019 to find a replacement for the 3rd set of ( O.E. ) Pirelli P Zero Nero tires whose ≈ 19,000 mile life per set was disappointing. These tires have exceeded the performance of the Pirellis in every regard. I now have almost 18,000 miles on them and still have an estimated 10,000 miles left !
