The CrossClimate² is Michelin's Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of sedans, coupes, station wagons, crossovers and SUVs looking for daily driving comfort combined with confident performance in dry, wet and light snow conditions. The CrossClimate² is designed as an all-weather tire to meet industry severe snow service requirements qualifying for the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol alongside its all-season performance and is intended to function as a one-tire solution for drivers that experience all four seasons but don't receive sufficient snowfall to require a dedicated winter tire.

Michelin CrossClimate2 Callouts

The CrossClimate² features Michelin's Thermal Adaptive all-season tread compound molded into a V-Formation directional tread design engineered to deliver dry, wet and wintertime performance. Michelin utilized their PIANO Noise Reduction Tuning which employs advanced tread pattern modeling that helps tune out airborne noise by augmenting tread element geometry and timing variation. Longitudinal dry grip is promoted by the center portion of the tread, with blocks that align with fore and aft forces, increasing uninterrupted block area contact when accelerating or decelerating. Braking traction is further enhanced by V Ramp chamfers molded into the leading and trailing edges of the blocks that increase contact with the road surface under load. Further outboard, the shoulder blocks begin to align laterally with the tread, helping increase cornering forces and control. 3D SipeLock technology integrated into the tread, supports block rigidity for confident handling while also increasing traction in inclement weather. The steep angles designed into the tread pattern help channel water away from the contact patch, increasing hydroplaning resistance without the need for circumferential grooves. This grooveless pattern evens out load forces to benefit wear characteristics, while creating more biting area for wintertime traction. Snow performance is further enhanced by the Thermal Adaptive Tread compound, ensuring the tire remains flexible at lower temperatures for increased snow traction sufficient to receive the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

Internal construction of the CrossClimate² consists of a two-ply polyester casing supporting two steel belts. A polyamide reinforcement is added to further enhance high speed stability and performance.

Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

...Wet performance is top-notch, just keep in mind the roads are wet... duhhhh...

The ONLY downside to these tires is the sidewall is so stiff Firestone was unable to install them, stating they were low-profile tires (245/40R18) which is not low profile in my opinion. Tire performance is exceptional though. I have been on several Mini car club runs along with a trip to Tail of the Dragon where I drive VERY spirited, typically doubling the "recommended" curve speed when with others and exceeding that when by myself. Tires stuck it every time. Wet performance is also top-notch, just keep in mind the roads are wet.... duhhhh. I've also tried them out in about 3 inches of snow, fresh fall / packed, and was pleasantly surprised at their snow capabilities considering how well they do on dry roads. The ride is a bit stiff but if you want the cornering you NEED stiff sidewalls so it's a give-and-take. All around great tire, I will be purchasing them again!

Amazing set of tires, even though the car I use these on is nowhere near performance oriented, the way a car can be entirely transformed with a good set of tires cannot be underestimated. Wet traction is amazing, in a way that you will notice from the first time you drive with these tires on: even light snow proved no challenge. Overall amazing set of tires, even the sidewall looks good!

These tires are insanely sticky on icy/snowy roads. Took the Miata to the mountains and roads were covered in ice. The tires gripped like glue and I was blown away. Michelin pulled some magic with these tires. My miata was handling better than many SUVs on snow. Dry traction is also great, comparing to worn out Michelin PSS. The only downside to these tires on a lightweight car like Miata is the weight and the stiffness of the tires. It feels very heavy, bumps on road are more noticeable and it overall feels less comfortable on uneven terrain. Otherwise amazing tires. Very predictable grip window both on snow/ice and dry/wet.

...Ice is also a bit better but I don't agree with other reviews that they're almost like winter tires...

Excellent dry weather tires. My car is FWD and would easily torque steer on the OEM set. These immediately catch grip and drive you wherever they're pointed. Wet weather traction is much better than my originals as well as light snow. Ice is also a bit better but I don't agree with other reviews that they're almost like winter tires.

I would happily purchase these again. They're some of the best tires I've had so far.

...Really amazing tire in the wet and dry the only problem is you don't really know you limitations...

excellent in wet . Car had run flats that I hated when purchased. These tires are slightly different size but same OD. Jeep SRT handling is twitchy and somewhat soft but still firm, so not real predictable or linear in handling characteristics . Had a Trailblazer SS previously that was more predictable but less powerful so some of my comments about tires are related to SRT handling characteristics not necessarily the tire. Really amazing tire in the wet and dry the only problem is you don't really know you limitations. Drive mostly on country roads with high crown and off camber corners with bumps, so the SRT suspension tuned for smooth track like surfaces does not inspire a lot of confidence on this type of road with a 5000# car with almost 500 horsepower. Great tire though.

Best tires I ever used. K5 GT is known to have zero traction with its stock Pirelli tires, but these Michelin Pilot Sport completely transformed the feel of the car for me. I can finally step on the gas off the line and not have my tires spin for ages. Overall cornering and traction performance increased.

Not sure if this is where I write this, but having warranty is also a great plus. Had TireRack replace one of my tires due to it bubbling up, and they didn’t give me any issues about it. So I won’t just be getting these tires again, I will also make sure to keep my business at TireRack!

...They're quieter and have a surprising level of grip; significantly better than any A/S I've previously experienced on a 944 and 993 C4S...

Superb tires for this car. OEM Pirellis looked stretched over the 20” wheels. These 265 Michelins look perfect and ride more comfortably. Even the tech who mounted the tires commented on how much better they looked. Other than the Pirellis slightly better on center feel these A/S Michelins are as good or better. They’re quieter and have a surprising level of grip; significantly better than any A/S I’ve previously experienced on a 944 and 993 C4S. A great A/S car and great A/S tires. There’s lots of hand-wringing over A/S options for the TTS and RS OEM 20/9” wheels on Audi websites. To me these Pilot Sport AS 4 XLs are ---- near perfect. Thanks to Todd for guiding me into these.

...Comfort levels are very high considering the quality of the local roads and a 40-series sidewall. It's close to some grand touring tires I've had from Pirelli and Continental. Noise levels are very good as well, though they have gotten louder in 20,000 miles, but not uncomfortably so...

I bought these in summer 2022 and now have exactly 20,000 miles. Most of my driving is in the city in stop and go conditions from 55 or 65 mph to zero for about 10-15 miles each way every day. And then on the weekend some twisty mountain roads.

These tires have exceeded my expectations in pretty much every regard. I've previously had the Pilot Sport 3 summer tire, and this tire has about 90% of the grip of that tire in good weather. Hydroplaning resistance is maybe a little bit less than the PS3 was. Comfort levels are also very high considering the quality of the local roads and a 40-series sidewall. It's close to some grand touring tires I've had from Pirelli and Continental. Noise levels are very good as well, though they have gotten louder in 20,000 miles, but not uncomfortably so. The Hankook UHP all seasons I had on before these were noticeably terrible at this point in their life.

Treadwear is very good so far I am at 6/32 to 7/32; I expect at least another 20,000 miles from these before they are too worn down to be safe for winter usage, which is pretty good for my driving style.

They do very well so far in light to moderate snowfall. They are certainly not on the same level as a dedicated winter tire, or even CrossClimates that I've had on a RWD Mercedes, but they work well in my city, which usually does a good job clearing the roads. In ice, they are about the same as every all season. If you are in a humid winter environment where there is ice, you really should be running winter tires.

I would definitely recommend these to almost anyone. I would buy them again if I were not a tire nerd who has to try out something new every time I get tires :D

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! Hands down the best tires for the Tesla Model Y (all trims). It’s been a year and i’ve put about 20K miles on these and they have performed well all year round! We had a rainy season few months ago and the tires handled the puddles and wet roads like a champ.
