The NT555 G2 is Nitto's next-generation Ultra High Performance Summer tire, developed for drivers of muscle cars, sports cars, performance coupes and sedans, seeking optimal dry and wet traction in a true grip-focused tire. Like all summer tires, the NT555 G2 is not intended to be driven, stored, or serviced in near- or below-freezing temperatures, through snow, or on ice.

The Nitto NT555 G2's silica-reinforced high stiffness compound is molded into a directional tread pattern, featuring large, tapered tread blocks for optimum dry grip. Two circumferential solid ribs at the tire's center provide rigidity for straight-line stability during hard braking and acceleration, while reinforced shoulder blocks offer satisfying grip and cornering in both dry and wet conditions. Four wide circumferential grooves allow water to flow through the tread to lateral notches for water evacuation and hydroplaning resistance.

The internal construction of the Nitto NT555 G2 consists of a two-ply polyester casing for flexibility and stability. Its two wide steel belts are reinforced by 2 nylon cap plies for added durability and high-speed support.

Note: Ultra High Performance Summer tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.

Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in Ultra High Performance Summer tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. Compound cracking is not a warrantable condition because it occurs as the result of improper use or storage. Tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced.

...We have even had an unexpected fair amount of rain here in the desert, and an unexpected pleasure is that these summer Nittos perform excellently in wet conditions.

I initially bought these tires because the camber on my car is out and my tires were burning through on the inside. I was tired of buying expensive tires that only lasted 20,000. Figured when these cheaper tires suffered the same fate I would just buy more. Turns out I love these tires. They are good to excellent in every category. We have even had an unexpected fair amount of rain here in the desert, and an unexpected pleasure is that these summer Nittos perform excellently in wet conditions.

I’m very impressed with their performance in dry conditions. They provide excellent grip and feel stable even under aggressive driving. Treadwear has been better than expected for a tire in this performance category, which is a big plus.

As for wet traction, it’s about average—not bad, but nothing I’d rely on in heavy rain. Personally, I avoid driving in the rain with these.

...these tires are very quiet, comfortable, and confidence inspiring in wet and dry...

For years I've tried different tires looking for a good performing track/street tire. Didn't at all enjoy the michelin ps4s, the RT660 was a phenomenal performer but was definitely not for street comfort, and with more street in mind I decided to try the NT555G2. these tires are very quiet, comfortable, and confidence inspiring in wet and dry. good buy for a spirited street / HPDE car.

On my fourth set of tires and these Nitto’s ride the best by far and have surprisingly great grip
Turn-in is fantastic but stopping and max G’s not as good RT615+’s but surprisingly close.
Quietest tires I have run yet
Not run long enough to rate wear.
Not enough grip for tracking
Plan to buy them again

Only has them for a short time, but coming from the stock, run flats, it's a night a day difference. Smooth, quiet, traction for days, what a great set especially for the price. And the mobile install option was fantastic, couldn't be happier.

This is my 3rd set of Nitto 555 G2's. Fantastic tire and I have gotten more mileage out of them than the tread wear rating would suggest.

...they have great tread wear and great handling and traction other than on ice or snow but these tires are not rated for that anyway.

I highly praise these tires I had to go up one size from a 235/45r18 to a 235/50r18 because they didn't have the 235/45r18 for my car but other than that they have great tread wear and great handling and traction other than on ice or snow but these tires are not rated for that anyway.

I went though 2 set of these tires. They were my daily tire and autocross tire and track tire. I only had one set of rim so changing out tire was not passible I feel for the price you will not find a beater tire as i did autocross on them at lest 1 time a month. They held to the Texas heat very well went though 10 plus runs in 100 degree heat before them gating greasy would highly recommend to any one on a budget that enjoys spirited drive are autocross are even track.

I will note these tires are not competitive vs some of the new compounds out there. but for what they are they are a great tire a good mix of milage and performance. Nitto need to update the nt555 2.

looking at maybe getting them for my new ride. no long have my 2017 Golf R
