The X-Ice SNOW is Michelin's Studless Ice & Snow winter tire developed for drivers of coupes, sedans, minivans and crossovers looking for confidence in winter's many different road conditions, throughout the life of the tire. Whether it's clear, cold winter roads; deep, heavy snow; or any icy condition in between, the X-Ice SNOW is designed to deliver reassuring wintertime traction and stability.

The FleX-Ice™ 2.0 compound of the X-Ice SNOW utilizes inclusion technology, which generates micro-roughness on the tread surface, helping improve grip both in snow and on ice. The compound also contains a high silica content that ensures the tire maintains its flexibility, even in severe climates. This advanced compound is molded into a continuous V-Shape, directional tread pattern with increased groove widths compared to its predecessor, engineered to improve hydroplaning and slush performance, as well as increase the snow-to-snow traction needed for loose conditions. The X-Ice SNOW's tread elements contain two types of full-depth sipes with complementary traction effects. Notched sipes provide numerous biting edges that help enhance traction in adverse conditions, along with variable thickness sipes that further aid traction while supporting the tread elements to maintain an efficient contact patch for control on packed snow and clear roads.

Pirelli Reviews

Customer surveys indicate the Pirelli P Zero All Season Plus Elect delivers excellent dry traction (scores 9-10) and confident wet performance, with strong hydroplaning resistance (8-10). Winter traction is generally positive in snow (7-10), though ice scores show mixed results (3-7), a noted limitation for severe winter conditions. Comfort receives consistent praise for smooth ride quality (8-10), complemented by low noise levels. Treadwear ratings (8-10) highlight durability, aligning with expectations for an ultra-high-performance all-season tire. While ice traction and a few isolated winter scores temper perfection, the tire excels in its core all-season capabilities, particularly dry/wet handling and year-round refinement.

Great handling in wet, dry, a little snow, and some ice...

Great handling in wet, dry, a little snow, and some ice. No deep snow yet. Downside: took a fairly big hit on range. OE Michelins were great on range, noise, dry handling and awful on treadwear. Looking forward to future options that don’t take as big a bite out of range but still handle like a performs e tire. As usual, Tire Rack rocked, including warning me of a potential range hit.

...Fantastic dry traction and very good wet traction...

Far better than the stock Michelins. Much quieter than I had expected. Fantastic dry traction and very good wet traction. Tesla Model 3 is a bit of a lead sled, so not sure if it ever will be able to score a 9 or 10/10 for snow. Probably not the tire's fault. If I were just giving the review as a comparison to Michelin Primacy MXM4 (stock) all scores would be 10/10.

Only about 1,000 miles so far on my 2021 Tesla Y, but so far - really good! Much quieter than the stock tires and better winter performance. We'll see how they wear, but I am optimistic!

...We drove in 500miles in -6 degrees with 3-6" of snow that was drifting across the road. Cars and trucks were sliding off of the highway all over 70 and 71. No slipping even when I went up steep hills, through snow drifts and icy conditions.

I put these tires on right before the Christmas blizzard in the Midwest. These tires are amazing! So much better in the snow and ice than the OEM tire (Goodyear EAGLE F1 ASYMMETRIC 5 (M+S)). Last year we hit some snow and the OEM tires were not good at all, no traction on snow or ice. Slippery and dangerous even with 4 wheel drive in the Tesla.

The Pirelli P ZERO ALL SEASON PLUS ELECT are so much better! We drove in 500miles in -6 degrees with 3-6" of snow that was drifting across the road. Cars and trucks were sliding off of the highway all over 70 and 71. No slipping even when I went up steep hills, through snow drifts and icy conditions. I even went out and did some doughnuts in a parking lot for fun.

Couldn't be happier, so much better than the OEM in all aspects. They are quiet, tread life should be better, around 50K (only 28K on OEM) and confidence in the snow!

...When inflated near 50 psi the dry traction isn't quite capable of fully sticking the Model S Performance performance to the pavement without a slight squeal...

Definitely a touring tire that I expect to get much longer treadlife from as compared to Michelin MXM4 GreenX tires [OEM Tesla]. The ride quality and noise are an improvement. However the tire performance is significantly impacted by temperature related pressure changes. Near the minimum 45 psi the tire becomes extremely soggy and disconnected from the driver input responsiveness. When inflated near 50 psi the dry traction isn't quite capable of fully sticking the Model S Performance performance to the pavement without a slight squeal. There is definitely a tradeoff of performance for perceived treadlife. Without a performance or plaid model I would recommend the tire but for spirited driving on 19" I may consider the Pirelli Zero Nero and Cinturato next but I expected this to be little bit more of my prefered tradeoff balance.

...Quiet, handles dead on, lower power required... these tires are a real pleasure to drive compared to the Michelins.

Best tire on my model 3 yet. Quiet, handles dead on, lower power required. Power has dropped from about 300 watts per mile to 260. Last tires were Michelin pilot sport which lasted 15k miles and were not as sure footed as the Perrelli. Had two sets of Primacy getting 12k and 18k miles. Primacy had better power performance than the sport but not as good as these Perrelli elect. It's still early but these tires are a real pleasure to drive compared to the Michelins.

...The tires are far more comfortable than the rubber band it had before and the noise dampening is awesome where I hear virtually no road noise...

These tires have held up extremely well and have exceeded my expectations. I rotate them every 3-4k miles and keep adequate tire pressure in them year around. I do not take it easy on them though with my driving style. Now that they have some wear on them, my only noticeable area that they suffer is from wet corner handling at above "recommended" speeds on certain pavement types. To the normal driver, in a non performance Tesla, this would not be an issue!! The tires are far more comfortable than the rubber band it had before and the noise dampening feature is awesome where I hear virtually no road noise. I will purchase the same set of tires next time around!!!

...Anyway, from the first minute, my Model 3 was much smoother and more quiet than I ever remembered. A month later, I still notice it every time I drive the car how much smoother it rides compared to the OEM tires ever since I bought the car...

I only recently installed these tires onto my Tesla Model 3 about a thousand miles ago, but I wanted to write a review already because they are so much better than the OEM Michelin tires that it simply astounds me. It feels like a different car. Granted, new tires usually feel much better than worn tires, but at 22,000 miles on the OEM tires, they still had decent tread life in them and they were still working fine in the rain for example. The reason I got 4 new tires a little early is because one of the OEM Michelin tires was defective- One tire became quickly unbalanced and when I had it rebalanced, it only lasted a few minutes. That baffled me for a good while and I tried a second tire shop only to get the same result. That is when I did some digging and learned that the OEM tires have foam sound insulation. I realized it must have come loose, which indeed was verified once the tire was removed from the wheel. I researched a bunch of tires for EV cars, as I wanted to stick with a set that has high rolling resistance and won't decrease the car's range. These Pirelli EV tires were the only ones that seemed compareable to the stock OEM Michelins, and they come with a 50,000 warranty. If I can get close to 40k I will be thrilled! Anyway, from the first minute, my Model 3 was much smoother and more quiet than I ever remembered. A month later, I still notice it every time I drive the car how much smoother it rides compared to the OEM tires ever since I bought the car. These are my new go-to tires for my Tesla. The car also feels like it grips more and handles better, and the tires are great in the rain like the OEM tires. I will try to write another review later on to report about wear and snow traction, if it ever snows again.

...We had 13,000 miles on the P-Zeros, and probably could have driven them another 5,000-8,000 miles, but they were starting to get noisy. These, hopefully, with a high treadwear rating, should last us at least 30,000 miles--probably more.

So far, these tires are great. I replaced my P-Zero OE tires with these--they are noticeably quieter and, surprisingly, a bit more efficient. We don't drive our Mach-E hard, so we don't really notice any difference in handling except perhaps when going around a corner to accelerate onto the freeway, if we go hard, you can tell that the sidewalls on these are a bit softer, but not enough to cause us to drive any differently. We had 13,000 miles on the P-Zeros, and probably could have driven them another 5,000-8,000 miles, but they were starting to get noisy. I would argue that the ride is better with this specifically engineered electric vehicle tire and the treat wear has been good so far (about 10k miles). Wear is even.

I was very impressed with this tire. It exceeds the OEM tire which was very carefully selected by Tesla.

I have put an number of different tires on my the Tesla Model S as I have 150k miles on my vehicle now. After trying many different combinations I went back to the OEM tire that was delivered to the vehicle because they were the "quietest" with the foam inserts.

Pirelli really hit the ball out of the park with this offering. I would argue that the ride is better with this specifically engineered electric vehicle tire and the treat wear has been good so far (about 10k miles). Wear is even. The ride is excellent. And with the noise absorbing foam in these tires it is very quiet. I had previously tried many versions of Michelin tires that were not engineered for electric vehicles the tires wore out very quickly due to the weight of the vehicle.

This tire have exceeded my expectations.

Replaced OEM Continental tires on TM3 Long Range. These tires were cheaper to purchase than the OEM's and had a better tread life warranty. They are noticeably noisier than the OEM tires, and did quiet down some as they wore, bit were still noise than the OEM tires at 20000 miles wear. Watts per mile were slightly higher, reducing range slightly.
Steering is not as crisp as OEM, but acceptable. Was not able to drive on snow. As more EV focused tires are on the market, I will purchase a different brand next time.
