Tire is Available for Your Vehicle

Your 2007 Toyota Matrix XR came from the factory with more than one possible size. This tire may fit depending on the size you need.

The Azenis RT660 is Falken's Extreme Performance Summer tire developed for motorsports enthusiasts, participants in track days, or any driver looking for competition-ready levels of dry traction and handling. The Azenis RT660 is designed to provide maximum performance in warm, dry to damp conditions, and like all Extreme Performance Summer tires, it is not intended to be serviced, stored, nor driven in near-and below-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Falken Azenis RT660 Callouts

Utilizing a motorsports-inspired tread compound enhances the traction delivered by the Azenis RT660 for acceleration, braking, and handling in dry and wet conditions. The low-void, symmetric pattern maximizes the rubber in contact with the surface. Massive shoulders deliver extreme levels of lateral grip, and the broad, continuous center rib provides solid on-center feel and longitudinal traction for acceleration and braking. Deep, circumferential grooves and full-depth notches help evacuate water from the contact patch to enhance hydroplaning resistance.

The internal construction of the Azenis RT660 features a two-ply, polyester casing utilizing Falken's Crosshatch Carcass design to enhance handling and stability. Two wide, steel belts support the tread area and are reinforced by two polyamide cap plies to further improve handling and high-speed capability.

Note: Tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels, or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.

Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in Extreme Performance Summer tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. While compound cracking is not a warrantable condition because it occurs as the result of improper use or storage, tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced.

Pirelli Reviews

Customers praise the Pirelli P Zero (PZ4) for its excellent dry traction, with many ratings in the 9-10 range highlighting sharp handling and confident cornering. Wet traction scores (7-10) show strong performance in intended conditions, though a few note reduced grip in heavy rain. Ride comfort earns consistent praise for smoothness and low noise, with most scores above 8. Treadwear receives mixed feedback, with frequent low scores (0-5) suggesting shorter lifespan than expected for a max performance summer tire. While drivers love its dry-focused capabilities, those prioritizing longevity may want to consider trade-offs.

Great summer conditions type tire that has excellent wet traction...

Great summer conditions type tire that has excellent wet traction. The PZ4's look great and are exactly what I needed in Florida. These replaced the factory CrossContact tires that were still on the SUV when I bought it with 30k miles. Once these PZ4's were on my XT6's fuel mileage increased by 3 MPG's!! An unexpected bonus that makes me love them even more.

...They have good wet and dry traction and are a very comfortable tire...

I am pleased with the improved ride that the PZero's provide. They have good wet and dry traction and are a very comfortable tire. The only downside is they tend to flat spot when the car has not been driven for a few days. But, the flat spots disappear within a block or two of driving.

These tires have great dry weather traction... I drive a mustang GTPP and keep traction control on and use a light throttle to prevent vaporizing the tires.

These tires have great dry weather traction, average wet weather traction but with only a little over 8k miles I now have to replace them. I have never had to replace a tire at eight thousand miles. I drive a mustang GTPP and keep traction control on and use a light throttle to prevent vaporizing the tires.

...They have a comfortable ride, great dry traction, are quiet, and have fantastic steering response. They have a lighter feel than the Michelin pilot super sports I have mounted on my track wheels.

Bought these tires to replace the oem run flats, from the same manufacturer.
These this are like driving a different car. They have a comfortable ride, great dry traction, are quiet, and have fantastic steering response. They have a lighter feel than the Michelin pilot super sports I have mounted on my track wheels. They do suffer a little in wet conditions. Nothing dangerous or unsettling, more that you can break the rear end loose when wet if you accelerate hard.
I paid less than $100 per tire after rebate. At they price they can't be beat. The Michelins I was cross shopping were almost twice the price. I'm not sure I would use these on the track, but they are a great street tire.

...Great dry grip. My polestar is heavy and torquey and these things never let me down on dry pavement...

Positive: Great dry grip. My polestar is heavy and torquey and these things never let me down on dry pavement
Neutral: Relatively quiet for a max performance summer tire. I don't believe there is such thing as a "quiet" 22" wheel/tire combo; these did pretty well until about 10k miles, then they started getting noisy.
Negative: Wet and cold traction. This is a max performance summer tire, so I'll be a bit forgiving, but in rain and/or cold weather, these things get a bit squirrely. Nothing that caused me to lose control but nothing that inspired confidence either.
Abysmal: Tire wear. At 10k miles I was at 3/32. And based on the reviews I'm not alone in this complaint. Why Volvo thinks this is a good OEM tire on a heavy SUV is beyond me. There are equally good summer performance tires out there that will last much longer. I'm at 12k miles now and getting them replaced, and not with another set of P Zeros.

...rides more comfortably and seemingly quieter - sounding like the wind rushing past an airplane. The steering effort is much lower too. Standing on the tire to clean the car's roof (yes, it's a minivan) partly reveals why - the sidewall is squishier and the tread blocks more squirmy than the PSS...

My Pilot Super Sports were down to the wear bars, so it was time to replace them with the new champs, PS4S... oh wait, unlike you lucky Amerikaners Michelin doesn¿t sell them in Singapore in "family car" 245/40-18 size! So between Michelin PS4, Pirelli PZ4 and springing for 19-inch wheels, I decided to try out the Pirellis. Got the ¿sport tread¿ version that looks like a bowling score sheet.

Versus the PSS, the PZ4 rides more comfortably and seemingly quieter - sounding like the wind rushing past an airplane. The steering effort is much lower too. Standing on the tire to clean the car's roof (yes, it's a minivan) partly reveals why - the sidewall is squishier and the tread blocks more squirmy than the PSS. There's also less rolling resistance than the "Gallic shrug" PSS, and versus the PS4 there¿s a much more generous rim protector which I¿ve already ¿kerb tested¿ once. No rim damage.

Of course, we don't buy max performance summer tires just for straight-line cushiness. How does all this cosseting translate into changing direction?

It depends. Up to seven-tenths, it feels sharp and controlled with plenty of grip and linear reactions. But... on my tall car, pushing beyond that asks questions the PZ4s hesitate to answer. The sidewalls flex quite a lot to let that round-shouldered outside tread pattern touch the road, and that allows the contact patch to move around so fast transitions into cornering mode feel lurchy - especially in S bends. The ultimate grip also ends earlier than the PSS, even when those were almost fully worn down. Wet grip seems fine under normal driving, but heeding the Tire Rack test comments means I¿ve not tried exploring the limits in the rain.

Verdict so far: The PSS made everyone feel like a hero right up to its grip limits. The PZ4 normally feels comfortable and faithful, but starts to lose linearity and composure when pushed harder unless steering inputs are delicate and measured. Back to driving sensitivity classes for me, then.

...These tires are more comfortable than the OEM wheels... My road trips are going to be more enjoyable.

This review is only my first impression. I've only put 200 miles on them
I replaced my original wheels and tires with this Tire. I usually try to find a safe place to find the traction break point on my cars just so it won't surprise me if it happens. I have been unable to break loose on these tires. My unmodified FRS is not powerful enough. If I go to a parking lot and turn the steering wheel all the way and floor it in 1st that would probably do it but doughnuts are more extreme than I will experience on the road.
Bottom line is; These tires are more comfortable than the OEM wheels. (not as much feedback) More traction than I'm used to. They handle like the car is on rails and they don't feel like it. My road trips are going to be so much more enjoyable.
