The Azenis RT660 is Falken's Extreme Performance Summer tire developed for motorsports enthusiasts, participants in track days, or any driver looking for competition-ready levels of dry traction and handling. The Azenis RT660 is designed to provide maximum performance in warm, dry to damp conditions, and like all Extreme Performance Summer tires, it is not intended to be serviced, stored, nor driven in near-and below-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Falken Azenis RT660 Callouts

Utilizing a motorsports-inspired tread compound enhances the traction delivered by the Azenis RT660 for acceleration, braking, and handling in dry and wet conditions. The low-void, symmetric pattern maximizes the rubber in contact with the surface. Massive shoulders deliver extreme levels of lateral grip, and the broad, continuous center rib provides solid on-center feel and longitudinal traction for acceleration and braking. Deep, circumferential grooves and full-depth notches help evacuate water from the contact patch to enhance hydroplaning resistance.

The internal construction of the Azenis RT660 features a two-ply, polyester casing utilizing Falken's Crosshatch Carcass design to enhance handling and stability. Two wide, steel belts support the tread area and are reinforced by two polyamide cap plies to further improve handling and high-speed capability.

Note: Tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels, or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.

Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in Extreme Performance Summer tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. While compound cracking is not a warrantable condition because it occurs as the result of improper use or storage, tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced.

Pirelli Reviews

Customer surveys indicate the Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus excels in dry traction (9-10 scores) and delivers confident wet performance (7-10), aligning with its rugged all-terrain design. Winter traction earns praise for deep snow capability (8-10), though ice traction shows occasional variability (5-10 scores). Drivers highlight a comfortable ride (7-10) with minimal noise for an off-road tire, and treadwear ratings (7-10) suggest durable performance. While most feedback aligns with its intended off-road use, a few note reduced ice grip in extreme conditions. Overall, it’s celebrated for balanced on- and off-road versatility, with strengths in dry handling and winter ruggedness.

...Great wet traction on wet roads. Really good grip on soaked unpaved gravel roads, with decent traction through mud...

5,000 miles on tires so far
Initial impressions:
Great dry traction on paved roads and highways
Great wet traction on wet roads
Really good grip on soaked unpaved gravel roads, with decent traction through mud.
Exceptional snow traction- does great with under 5 inches of snow. Absolutely amazing with more than 6 inches if vehicle has some weight. Drove through more than 8" inches of fresh snow on unpaved roads and the tires showed no signs of losing grip.
Ice grip is okay- tires lose grip pretty easy on ice and are not very predictable after traction is lost.
Tires are noisy in general especially on highway when making lane changes or turning; they're pretty quiet when going straight. Bumps are toned down pretty good with these tires. Tire noise is especially loud when temp is below 50 degrees.
The tires ride pretty well except the ice traction. The back of my AWD Pilot will spin out when making a turn on ice at times, hard to predict when it will slide out and impossible to correct. Only happens on ice and randomly without rhyme or reason.
So far in 5,000 miles, the tread is 9/32nds (started at 13/32nds).

Almost 10k miles in, these tires are far exceeding my expectations for a 3/4 ton truck. Excellent ride quality, noise level, and above average dry and wet traction for an all-terrain tire. Would highly recommend.

...Halfway through my 2nd winter now with the Perellis and I would say the snow traction is adequate, not the best I've had but definitely not the worst. Here in Iowa we get a lot of ice on the roads due to the wind and I would say that is this tires weakest area.

Good all around tire. Purchased these in the fall of 17 paid a bit more than others on here as they had just been released. Previously had Big Foot A/Ts which had slightly better snow/winter traction than the ATRs but were noisier on dry pavement, had more sidewalk flex and did not have the best tread life. Halfway through my 2nd winter now with the Perellis and I would say the snow traction is adequate, not the best I've had but definitely not the worst. Here in Iowa we get a lot of ice on the roads due to the wind and I would say that is this tires weakest area. The tires do perform better than most comparable tires in almost all other categories. Tread life has been very good I would say at 10k mi barely notice any wear. Fuel mpg is above avg. We had floods in the spring and I had to do some deep water fording in some swampy conditions with mud and debris etc these tires perfomed admirably for mid level A/T tire. Bottom line, a well balanced all around tire that looks good and performs well in almost all conditions .

...The grip in deep snow, 6+ inches unplowed over a mountain pass in CO, is unbelievable!...

Switched to a set of these after trying out the Geolander GO15 A/T tires. I was very pleased with those, but wanted a change. These are a more aggressive looking tire. The grip in deep snow, 6+ inches unplowed over a mountain pass in CO, is unbelievable! Very stable on dirt roads with this tire and the Outback's AWD. Seems to be wearing fine. Only 7000 miles in and towed a camper for a couple thousand of those miles. They still look like new.

The only negative is noise. Initially there was no noticeable noice on the roadway, but that changed after they were broken in. At around 45-50mph there is that unmistakable deafening (to me) hum. That said, I would still recommend these tires.

...I am amazed at how well this thing handles. The confidence of knowing these tires are so well connected to the road is impossible for me to explain in words. I've made them sing in aggressive cornering, but they've NEVER broken free...

A must-have upgrade over OEM Continental garbage tires that wouldn't handle a puff of snow. I bought these tires the day after buying the car because I knew those stock Conti's were straight trash based on the road noise and road input I experienced from the test drive. I am amazed at how well this thing handles. The confidence of knowing these tires are so well connected to the road is impossible for me to explain in words. I've made them sing in aggressive cornering, but they've NEVER broken free. That may well be a product of the AWD system in combination with these tires, but it really is a thing of beauty wringing every last possible piece of momentum out of these tires. Rain handling is superb as well. They provide excellent traction in snow, but as with any tire, they're not miracle workers. If you throw the car into a turn at speed in fresh powder, you're going to keep going straight no matter what you do with the steering wheel. So, don't be a Subaru driver and think you're invincible. I have these exact tires (different size of course) on an older F150 and they are exquisite on that truck as well. I can take a turn ridiculously aggressively in the dry, and in the wet I know I can still maintain control with the steers when the rear does cut out. It's an incredibly confidence inspiring tire. Seriously. Tires are the single most important safety device on your car. Get these and you will not be disappointed.

Very quiet and comfortable for a somewhat aggressive tread. While driving on gravel roads these tires don't throw stones up blasting the bottom of the truck like other A/T tires I've owned. My normal commute is secondary mountain roads with tight curves and these tires hold the road well and provide good steering response (for an F150). Haven't driven in the rain enough to rate wet traction but I expect them to do well based on other's survey feedback

Very good tires. Slight noise on highway but not distracting by any means. Dry and wet on road traction excellent. Off road they are as good as BfGoodrich AT2. Snow traction has been impressive and very controllable if you do make them break loose a little. Hardly any wear so far. Sidewalls seem stiff for good steering response and handling but ride is not harsh. Had many sets of tires on this truck over twenty years. These are all around the best I have used.

...I'm buying my second set of Pirelli's after 47,000 miles (just shy of the 50,000 tread warranty). I could probably run them to 50,000 but winter road conditions in Iowa are not meant for rolling the dice :)... Treadwear became a little uneven and slight cupping began to occur at 40,000 miles. Tires were still drivable, but began sacrificing some grip in wet/snowy/off road conditions...

The Pirelli All Terrain Plus is the first truck tire I've purchased more than once. The OEM Hankooks on my F-150 lasted 70,000 miles but literally left me stuck in the mud when I went off road. The Yokohama Geolandar's I replaced them with had some decent off road traction and were terrific on icy/slushy roads, but were bald at 35,000 miles. I'm buying my second set of Pirelli's after 47,000 miles (just shy of the 50,000 tread warranty). I could probably run them to 50,000 but winter road conditions in Iowa are not meant for rolling the dice :) Strengths of this tire include:

- Incredibly quiet tires for the all-terrain category
- Responsive handling on dry pavement (just as sticky as the all season tires on my wife's SUV)
- No issues in wet conditions with ample tread
- Simply the best gravel/dirt road tire I've ever owned (amazing lateral grip when navigating tight turns on gravel roads)
- Some of the best snow tires I've ever owned
- Limited use in the mud but the results were encouraging
- Towed my 16 ft boat without any issues

Weaknesses:
- Ice traction could be better. The siping on these tires is fairly basic and it shows on ice.
- Treadwear became a little uneven and slight cupping began to occur at 40,000 miles. Tires were still drivable, but began sacrificing some grip in wet/snowy/off road conditions

Final verdict: These tires were a great option for someone like me who drives pavement 90% of the time but who needs tires that perform well in winter conditions in the Midwest and during weekend hunting/fishing excursions on gravel/dirt roads with occasional 4x4 runs through the mud. A great all around all-terrain option at a competitive price point both times I've purchased. Highly recommend if you're looking for a budget all-terrain tire.

Bought the Scorpions after reading about the OEM tires that came on our 2019 Outback Limited. Downsized to 17" wheels to get more sidewall and all the tires saw was my wife's commute 44 mi and my driving around gravel roads which they ate up with gusto. She teaches and snow days were really fun! Had a five tire rotation going and saw about 3/32nds of wear from the original 13/32nds. All five are evenly worn across the tire and are between 10/32nds and 11/32nds. The car never travelled more than 25 miles from home the entire time. They're stacked in the garage now waiting for the call to go on our new 21 Touring XT. Wife says the OEM Yokohama Avid GTs aren't as good as the Scorpions as they are spongy and don't take potholes with the confidence the Scorpions did.
