The ADVAN Sport V105 is Yokohama's Max Performance Summer tire developed for the drivers of high-powered sports cars, sporty coupes and performance sedans. Based on technology fostered through participation in motorsports and development at the Nurburgring Circuit in Germany (one of the world's most grueling race/test tracks), the ADVAN Sport V105 combines an increase in agile handling with a more comfortable ride when compared to its predecessor by featuring precision-tuned materials and structures. Like all summer tires, the ADVAN Sport V105 is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

ADVAN Sport V105 tires mold a Microsilica and Orange Oil enhanced tread compound that helps the tread rubber remain pliable to improve tire adhesion and grip. The compound is molded into an asymmetrical tread design in which wide outboard shoulder blocks and circumferential ribs work together to promote dry traction and handling. Variable width circumferential grooves and asymmetric lateral notches help reduce noise and promote water flow through the footprint to resist hydroplaning.

The tire's internal structure features two rigid steel belts reinforced by spirally wound overlapping nylon across the tread with three layers covering the belt edges in the shoulders to combine high-speed durability and responsive handling. Yokohama's new motorsports-inspired Matrix Body Ply Structure technology features a rayon body ply that is angled in the sidewalls to maintain lateral rigidity while reducing tire weight to deliver more agile handling and a more comfortable ride.

*Yokohama BluEarth branding is used to identify an ecologically friendly series of tires that are designed to deliver environmentally, human and socially friendly solutions for drivers and their vehicles. Specific sizes utilizing BluEarth Technology are identified on the Sizes tab, as well as on the tire's Specs tab.

I have used these on my Toyota Corolla for years and love them. My brother also uses them on his 2009 Malibu. I purchased these mostly for the wet road traction ratings, and they have not disappointed. The treadwear and quiet ride is excellent as well. I'll keep on purchasing these for my vehicles as long as they are made!

...Even in the snow they grip well...

The tire does not roll into a corner. It grips firmly in and out of corners. Reacts when you need to make evasive decisions. Breaking is on the money. I would say the same thing during wet weather conditions. Even in the snow they grip well. All around tire. Try it for yourself.

...We just had a snow storm that gave us around 9 inches of snow and it did amazing getting me to work and home each day and night while feeling safe and secure with no sliding or spinning. Sure a snow tire will do better and an all weather tire may do better in snow and ice. However after owning the Vredestein Quatrac, Quatrac 5, Quatrac Pro and the first generation Goodyear Weather ready these tires have done everything just as well for me in all driving conditions!...

Update: After having these tires several thousand miles and for over a year I must say they are a great tire. In general I always purchased Vredestein tires for my new vehicles when removing the junk OEM tires. This time I wanted to try another brand for the heck of it and after a ton of research I went with the Sumitomo HTR A/S P03 and am glad I did. They have done everything the several sets of Vredestein tires I have owned did. The Sumitomo does great on wet roads and has great traction in heavy rains and feels very stable against hydroplaning and sticks to the road. It also does very well in the snow. We just had a snow storm that gave us around 9 inches of snow and it did amazing getting me to work and home each day and night while feeling safe and secure with no sliding or spinning. Sure a snow tire will do better and an all weather tire may do better in snow and ice. However after owning the Vredestein Quatrac, Quatrac 5, Quatrac Pro and the first generation Goodyear Weather ready these tires have done everything just as well for me in all driving conditions! Our driveway is in the rear of our house and you have to go up a steep alley to get to it. At the bottom you have to make a 90 degree turn and start up the hill and you can get no speed up for the hill and this tire went up it fine and my Kicks is front wheel drive only. I was impressed. Also our alley regularly gets ice as water flows down it all the time it seems and then it freezes. These tires have really strong grip on ice for some reason and I was surprised at that. I have to say what a good tire these are and the price especially is very cheap and you get a good name brand tire and a 65,000 milage rating. You cant beat that! They also have a very stable and solid ride with a smooth ride quality and road noise is low. So if you are looking at these Sumitomo HTR A/S P03 tires because they are affordable go for it they are a very good tire for the money and perform excellent

...Wet & Dry Traction: Living in a climate with varying weather, I've found the grip to be reliable. They feel planted during heavy rain and responsive during highway merges...

Review: Sumitomo Tires - One Year Later
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I’m writing this review after a full year of driving on these Sumitomo tires, and I have to say, they have exceeded my expectations for a mid-tier tire. I purchased these from Tire Rack, and the experience from delivery to performance has been seamless.

The Highlights:
Ride Quality: Even after 12 months, the ride remains quiet and smooth. They absorbed road vibrations much better than the previous set I had.
Wet & Dry Traction: Living in a climate with varying weather, I’ve found the grip to be reliable. They feel planted during heavy rain and responsive during highway merges.
Tread Wear: I’ve checked the tread depth recently, and they are wearing very evenly. For the price point, the longevity is impressive.
Value: These are arguably the best "bang for your buck" tires on Tire Rack. You get premium-leaning performance without the "big brand" markup.
Final Verdict:
If you're looking for a dependable workhorse tire that doesn't compromise on safety or comfort, I highly recommend Sumitomo. After a year of daily driving, I’d definitely buy these again.

...Perfect for every day and not bad for sportier driving. Good in wet and dry conditions, but never tried snow so TBD there...

Great tires for their value. Previously had Michelin Pilot Sports and missed them in some scenarios when I really wanted to push limits, but these are great budget-friendly tires for 90% of driving. Perfect for every day and not bad for sportier driving. Good in wet and dry conditions, but never tried snow so TBD there.

On a budget? Get them — you won’t regret it. Got lots of cash you’re dying to spend? Go for something a little better like the Pilot Sport.
