The CrossClimate2 is Michelin's Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of sedans, coupes, station wagons, crossovers and SUVs looking for daily driving comfort combined with confident performance in dry, wet and light snow conditions. The CrossClimate2 is designed as an all-weather tire to meet industry severe snow service requirements qualifying for the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol alongside its all-season performance and is intended to function as a one-tire solution for drivers that experience all four seasons but don't receive sufficient snowfall to require a dedicated winter tire.

Michelin CrossClimate2 Callouts

The CrossClimate2 features Michelin's Thermal Adaptive all-season tread compound molded into a V-Formation directional tread design engineered to deliver dry, wet and wintertime performance. Michelin utilized their PIANO Noise Reduction Tuning which employs advanced tread pattern modeling that helps tune out airborne noise by augmenting tread element geometry and timing variation. Longitudinal dry grip is promoted by the center portion of the tread, with blocks that align with fore and aft forces, increasing uninterrupted block area contact when accelerating or decelerating. Braking traction is further enhanced by V Ramp chamfers molded into the leading and trailing edges of the blocks that increase contact with the road surface under load. Further outboard, the shoulder blocks begin to align laterally with the tread, helping increase cornering forces and control. 3D SipeLock technology integrated into the tread, supports block rigidity for confident handling while also increasing traction in inclement weather. The steep angles designed into the tread pattern help channel water away from the contact patch, increasing hydroplaning resistance without the need for circumferential grooves. This grooveless pattern evens out load forces to benefit wear characteristics, while creating more biting area for wintertime traction. Snow performance is further enhanced by the Thermal Adaptive Tread compound, ensuring the tire remains flexible at lower temperatures for increased snow traction sufficient to receive the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

Internal construction of the CrossClimate2 consists of a two-ply polyester casing supporting two steel belts. A polyamide reinforcement is added to further enhance high speed stability and performance.

Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

...They stiffened up the ride, are quiet and have great traction in the slushy snow...

I’ve barely driven on this set and already like them. They stiffened up the ride, are quiet and have great traction in the slushy snow. The set they replaced didn’t feel as good out of the box and only lasted 15k (Ironman junk), so I am glad I upgraded to the Sumitomo. I’ll have to remember to update review after a few road trips, but I’m confident they will still rate highly.

Great tire for the price. Was going to put snow tires on like I do every year then a surprise snow storm happened and had to get to work. Was nervous about the drive with the tires but they did great. I ran these tires all winter and never had an issue even on untouched country roads or a terribly maintained highway. Definitely recommend.

...They perform about as good as you can expect an all season to perform in the snow but they aren't hopeless if you have experience in wintry conditions...

This tire is slightly larger and has a stiffer sidewall than the oem tire size but it has vastly improved the cars handling and has been significantly better on tread wear. They leave a bit left to be desired in wet conditions but just take it easy and it’s fine. They perform about as good as you can expect an all season to perform in the snow but they aren’t hopeless if you have experience in wintry conditions. I haven’t exactly been easy on these tires and they’ve held up really well. Pleasantly surprised

...Also, just yesterday, I had to get away from somebody that wanted my lane more than I did. I had to do an instant 70 mph lane change and these tires performed beautifully.

I mount and balance my own tires. I lined up the dot with the valve stem and these needed almost no weight to balance. I probably could've just left them as mounted with no weights added at all. I've had to use more weight to balance a motorcycle tire in the past. Also, just yesterday, I had to get away from somebody that wanted my lane more than I did. I had to do an instant 70 mph lane change and these tires performed beautifully.

...I'm well satisfied with ware, comfort, and price...

I bought these tires based on reviews and price on your site. I only ordered 2 for the front of my vehicle. The Sumitomo appeared the best bang for the buck. It's been a year, need to order 2 more for the front and roll these to the back. I'm well satisfied with ware, comfort, and price.
Thank you for helping keep prices down. Just my opinion, but our economy is in the tank and any savings is a blessing...
