The ExtremeContact Force is Continental's Extreme Performance Summer tire developed for sports cars, performance sedans and enthusiast drivers who participate in high-performance driving events, track days and endurance-style competition. The ExtremeContact Force is engineered to deliver maximum levels of grip and extremely consistent performance on-track, while still providing appropriate on-road performance and the expected durability for use on public streets. Like all Extreme Performance Summer tires, the ExtremeContact Force is not intended to be serviced, stored nor driven in near-and-below-freezing temperature, through snow or on ice.

Utilizing the immense competition and racing heritage at Continental's disposal, their engineering and design teams developed the ExtremeContact Force's endurance-focused tread compound to deliver consistent and predictable handling and grip levels from the first lap until the last. The solid center rib ensures quick steering response and consistent longitudinal traction. Wide, low void, outboard shoulders maximize tread-to-surface contact for extreme lateral grip and mid-corner steering precision. Tread depth pins molded into the shoulder elements are included to help drivers monitor performance, wear quality and project remaining tread life in competition and high performance driving environments. Twin, inboard circumferential grooves help mitigate hydroplaning, while high-angle lateral notches help evacuate water from the outboard shoulder elements.

The internal construction of the ExtremeContact Force consists of a robust, two-ply polyester casing for precise handling. Twin steel belts provide durability and high-speed capability along with a single polyamide cap ply for increased footprint control during high-performance driving and maneuvers.

Note: Tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels, or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.

Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in Extreme Performance Summer tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. While compound cracking is not a warrantable condition because it occurs as the result of improper use or storage, tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced.

Customers Say

Reviews highlight excellence in dry traction with strong grip and consistent lap times during track days, HPDE events, and canyon driving. Users praise predictable breakaway characteristics and heat tolerance across multiple sessions. Wet performance earns praise for damp-track confidence, though some note hydroplaning risks in heavy rain. Treadwear stands out as a strength, with many reporting 8-10 track days plus street miles remaining, though proper camber setup is critical to prevent shoulder wear. While not the fastest 200TW option for single-lap pace, drivers value the tire’s endurance focus-maintaining performance through heat cycles without drastic drop-off. Ideal for those prioritizing longevity and session-to-session consistency over peak grip.

...They grip well with air temps in the mid-40F range, are confident on a wet track, provide audible feedback when nearing traction limits and work fairly well on the street if a little loud at highway speeds...

Bought these tires in early 2022 for HPDE as I was wanted something that would last a full season of learning. Compared to Michelin PS4S the ECF turns the grip on quick, are extremely heat-tolerant and consistent over 30min sessions (even with 90F air temps), and have a predictable rear breakaway. They grip well with air temps in the mid-40F range, are confident on a wet track, provide audible feedback when nearing traction limits and work fairly well on the street if a little loud at highway speeds. On a 3900lb sedan I start at 30PSI cold and target 35PSI hot for the second session on and never experienced rollover at those pressures like I did with PS4S (trashed a front left due to that). -2.0 front camber worked well on my heavy car, but I think a bit more would have been most ideal. Mine have 7 track days with at least 30 sessions on them along with a thousand or so road miles and there is plenty of life remaining, though I did flip them on the wheels after their third day to even out wear.

Pretty decent tire for everyday driving with good dry traction. These tires are decent in rain and have really good wet traction as well. The tires for my car are pretty wide so hydroplaning is easy but they hold up very well in a heavy downpour.

...Tremendous grip and cornering stability but most exceptional is the wear and consistency over the course of many laps...

Great track day tire. Tremendous grip and cornering stability but most exceptional is the wear and consistency over the course of many laps. 10 track days in a ~3800lb car and the rears barely look used at all. The fronts have some outer shoulder wear but mainly because I was unable to dial in the needed of negative camber so it's my fault not the tire's.

I understand there are tires out there that will give higher outright single lap performance. But I am not interested in that extra half a second for 1 or 2 laps out of 20. I have seen first hand that this tire's consistency and resistance to (or tolerance for) overheating will usually give better performance over the course of an entire session than a tire that has a small window of superior performance, preceded being too cold and followed by being too slippery to match its magical 1 or 2 laps. This tire allows you to concentrate on your line, braking points, track out, etc because they will be the same lap after lap thanks to the tire's quick warmup and consistency over a full session. These traits may not be for everyone but they fit my preferences perfectly.

Great track tires, tread wear is excellent, 10 track days so far and still have a lot of tread left. They get a little greasy in warm conditions, but stick really well in the first couple sessions or cool-warm days. Highly recommend

These tires are amazing

I've gone through 2 sets of them now, they usually last me 1-3 track days depending on how hard I'm pushing the car (My car is very heavy, and I use a lot of slip angle to make it through corners at my local track.)

Even when they're really low on tread, they'll hook up. You just have to make sure that they're nice and warm.

They'll get greasy if they've been overheated a few times, and I wouldn't recommend driving them in the rain after they've been beaten on.
Additionally, read the details on the tires before you get them. I drove my first set in the snow and ended up losing patches of tread. These tires have to be held in a climate controlled environment during the cold months.

This is my favorite tire to date, I've never experienced something that hooks up this well. According to my in car G meter, I'm able to pull over 1.75 G's with these tires. Pair them with a good race pad and you're going to be soaring.

When it's cold: AWD launches feel faster because you'll spin all 4
When it's hot: You'll cook motor mounts from pulling so many G's in the corners
When you're just commuting: You might get hearing damage from the road noise, but you'll feel cool knowing you can out corner every other car on the road
When you're on the track: You'll be able to set fast lap times consistently even though you've never heard of the racing line
