The Assurance WeatherReady is Goodyear's Grand Touring All-Season tire designed for the drivers of family sedans, coupes, crossovers, SUVs and minivans who want the smooth and quiet ride of a premium touring tire combined with the year-round confidence that comes from driving a vehicle equipped with all-weather tires, having met industry severe snow service requirements and qualifying for the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
The special soy-based rubber tread compound of the Assurance WeatherReady is molded into an asymmetric tread design focused on providing the traction needed for any weather condition. Goodyear's Weather Reactive Technology delivers control in inclement weather with 3D TredLock Technology Blades in the center and outboard tread ribs to provide stable cornering in slippery conditions. Evolving Traction Grooves help retain high levels of grip as the tire wears. Added silica in the tread compound aids traction on wet roads, while the Sweeping Tread Grooves move water away from the footprint to the four deep, circumferential channels to resist hydroplaning. The intermediate ribs of the Assurance WeatherReady feature Zigzag Biting Edges to provide the traction needed for confidence in slippery conditions, including on ice and in snow. All Assurance WeatherReady tires meet industry Severe Snow Service requirements and are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
Internal construction of the Assurance WeatherReady utilizes a single-ply polyester casing. Two wide, steel belts support the tread area, and a polyamide reinforcement aids handling response and high-speed capability.
Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

...It does great in snow and in wet...
Love this tire. I now have it on 2 different vehicles, including my Mazda 3 hatch. It does great in snow and wet. Maybe a touch loud, but it is a triple-peak tire not a cushy touring tire. I have driven in a variety of snow depths and conditions and it performs great. I am confident in the tires ability to "stick" while I drive the curves of Colorado mountain roads. A little more expensive, but that is GoodYear for you. It can be a great value buy when on-sale and GY has one of it's regular rebates. I recommend this tire to all my friends.

...The tires they replaced (not worn out yet) were struggling in the wet from a full stop... The new Goodyear's... They fixed that problem. They provide great traction, great on wet roads, great cornering stability...
First off - Tire Rack had an INSANE Black Friday rebate deal on these.. Got $300 back using a Goodyear credit card. That rebate pushed me towards these tires. I'm glad I got them. The tires they replaced (not worn out yet) were struggling in the wet from a full stop... The new Goodyear's... They fixed that problem. They provide great traction, great on wet roads, great cornering stability, I would definitely buy them again.

Winter traction earns high praise with most scores 9-10 for confident snow and ice grip. While a few ice ratings dip to 5-7, the Assurance WeatherReady delivers reliable all-season winter performance customers trust.

...The place we were staying was on a hill and the road wasn't very well cleared: it was snowy and icy. These tires enabled us to get up the hill with no problem. I saw other drivers struggling.
We drove to Stowe, Vermont for a very snowy weekend this past winter. The place we were staying was on a hill and the road wasn’t very well cleared: it was snowy and icy. These tires enabled us to get up the hill with no problem. I saw other drivers struggling. Our friends weren’t able to get up the hill at all. It’s good to have such reliable tires!

...Maine winters are long with a variety of challenging conditions and for years I have run 2 sets of tires-one for winter and the other all-season... I couldn't be more satisfied because the snow traction is very good...
Exceptional performance in all areas makes this the most versitile tire I have ever owned. Maine winters are long with a variety of challenging conditions and for years I have run 2 sets of tires-one for winter and the other all-season. I was reluctant to buy a second set of wheels and winter tires for this car, decided also to avoid the spring/fall changeover cost and took a chance with the Weaterready model. I couldn't be more satisfied because the snow traction is very good, there is little tire noise and a two-week jaunt to South Carolina showed how civilized the tires' road manners are. Sure, there are slight tradeoffs, but I can't see me buying any other tire for my driving situation.

When accelerating from a stop to turn a corner, these tires lose traction easily in fresh snow or the brown mush of sand and snow. At highway speeds they exhibit good directional stability in an inch or two of fresh snow. Braking is good on snow covered roads. Can’t comment on performance on icy roads yet. Excellent resistance to hydroplaning; the best tire that I have purchased in 50 plus years of driving in SUV’s, front or rear drive cars, or on winter or all season tires. Eastern Canada winter driving is a challenge! My car has high road noise year round regardless of tire choice.

Customers overwhelmingly rate dry traction as excellent, with most scoring 9s and 10s. The Assurance WeatherReady delivers confident grip and responsive handling in dry conditions, aligning perfectly with Grand Touring All-Season expectations. A few 7s suggest minor variability.

...So far with on dry driving they work. I do not feel connected to the road like summer tires. These good enough traction to accelerate, stop abruptly, and take on corners well...
Just got these tires on my Fiat with only a couple hundred miles on them. Only had one day of wet driving which explains why I'm unable to leave a review on those conditions yet. So far with dry driving they work. I do not feel connected to the road like summer tires. These good enough traction to accelerate, stop abruptly, and take on corners well. The reason why I purchased these tires is because of the 3 peak snow symbol. I'll leave a review once the winter time is over and got more miles on the odometer to see how much tread gets worn and how well they perform.

...dry and wet traction have met or exceeded my expectations as well, being more predictable and grippy than the OEM tires...
These tires replaced the OEM Yokohama AVID GT tires. I had been dissatisfied with the OEM tire performance for dry braking and handling. These tires have been great so far, with only 2 small areas of concern. First though, ride comfort and noise are improved quite a bit. These tires are quieter and cushion road imperfections better than the OEM tires. Both dry and wet traction have met or exceeded my expectations as well, being more predictable and grippy than the OEM tires. The drawbacks I've noticed is first, I am getting a consistent 1-2 MPG lower fuel efficiency with these tires on the highway and about 1 MPG lower around town. I attribute this to the tires feeling like they have softer sidewalls and softer overall construction than the OEM tires so while they ride better and are quieter, they do take a tiny bit more power for driving. This seems reasonable, they're intended to be the best performing all season tires, not economy focused max life tires. My second issue is related to this first one, in that since these tires are "all season" and not intended for off-road use, they likely have softer and less durable sidewalls than the OEM tires or really any other tire intended for even light off-road use. Overall I'm happy with these tires because 99% of my driving is on road and the 1% off road is really on dirt/gravel roads without serious tire hazards, however anyone who intends to actually drive their subie off road will probably want to consider one of the many off road suitable tires instead of these. But if you're doing all your driving on the road and are willing to sacrifice a tiny bit of MPG in exchange for a better ride and better handling, these are great replacements for the OEM tires.

...Only 1000 miles in, but I am very pleased with the wet and dry handling, and ride quality characteristics of this tire...
I took a chance on these Goodyears. Tire rack had special pricing. Only 1000 miles in, but I am very pleased with the wet and dry handling, and ride quality characteristics of this tire. I am hopeful the 700 wear rating will provide longevity. They were installed at Discount Tire Direct and the process was seamless. I used to buy tires at Costco, but will check Tire Rack and Discount Tire first from now on. Thank you Tire Rack for a great experience.

...Great riding, lower noise than the previous tires and they handled very well under all circumstances... They also performed well in the rain (until the last 5K miles or thereabouts), were comfortable and responsive on dry pavement and were relatively quiet...
Bought the same tires two years ago shortly after I purchased my front wheel drive Toyota Prius, I currently have over 165K miles on the car and will be replacing them with the same tires just purchased on TireRack.com. I also bought these for my 2009 Ford Edge and put on about 30K miles on that set before selling the car. I find these tires worked well for the larger Edge but even better for the smaller and much lighter Prius.
These tires surpassed all expectations I had for them! Great riding, lower noise than the previous tires and they handled very well under all circumstances. Now, I''m not very aggressive (I do drive a Prius) so I would expect most tires would handle ok for me under many conditions. I drive a lot of miles...over 30K per year. Over the past few years i''ve averaged about 10K per year doing gig work (Lyft, Uber, Instacart, etc). These WeatherReady''s got my low clearance Prius through 6 inches of fresh snow with very few problems. I don''t recall the traction control kicking that first night delivering groceries. I would definitely recommend these to anyone living in a northern climate. Can only imagine they''re spectacular with AWD!
They also performed well in the rain (until the last 5K miles or thereabouts), were comfortable and responsive on dry pavement and where relatively quiet. And as stated, they''ve lasted quite well exceeding the manufacturers warranty (I rotate every 5K - 6K miles). Great tires, no real complaints, and I''d say as good as my beloved Michelin Defenders. The only real downfall I encountered was my Gas Mileage dropped about 5% on average (47mpg vs 50mpg for the first 15K miles I owned the car with old tires vs last 50K+).
If you''re thinking about it (and you must be since you''ve read this entire review), just buy them, it''s a no-brainer!! Be sure to check for rebates! Solid tires, solid deal!

We had a record snow year last winter and these "all-season" tires went through everything. From around town to the ski slopes they held the road. Pretty quiet with low tread wear as well.

This is one of the most durable tires I have used... I ran one of these tires to 80k miles on one occasion and to me if something can last beyond their warranty it is worth a re-purchase...
This is one of the most durable tires I have used. I drive 100k miles a year and this is if not the only tire, one of the only tires that I do not need to re-inflate every so often in the cold weather. Michelin are supposed to be the best and ride wise I think Michelin is king but when it comes to durability and no maintenance this tire is superior. I ran one of these tires to 80k miles on one occasion and to me if something can last beyond their warranty it is worth a re-purchase. If you’re looking for a decent quiet tire this could be your tire.
