tread callout

The Assurance WeatherReady is Goodyear's Grand Touring All-Season tire designed for the drivers of family sedans, coupes, crossovers, SUVs and minivans who want the smooth and quiet ride of a premium touring tire combined with the year-round confidence that comes from driving a vehicle equipped with all-weather tires, having met industry severe snow service requirements and qualifying for the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

The special soy-based rubber tread compound of the Assurance WeatherReady is molded into an asymmetric tread design focused on providing the traction needed for any weather condition. Goodyear's Weather Reactive Technology delivers control in inclement weather with 3D TredLock Technology Blades in the center and outboard tread ribs to provide stable cornering in slippery conditions. Evolving Traction Grooves help retain high levels of grip as the tire wears. Added silica in the tread compound aids traction on wet roads, while the Sweeping Tread Grooves move water away from the footprint to the four deep, circumferential channels to resist hydroplaning. The intermediate ribs of the Assurance WeatherReady feature Zigzag Biting Edges to provide the traction needed for confidence in slippery conditions, including on ice and in snow. All Assurance WeatherReady tires meet industry Severe Snow Service requirements and are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

Internal construction of the Assurance WeatherReady utilizes a single-ply polyester casing. Two wide, steel belts support the tread area, and a polyamide reinforcement aids handling response and high-speed capability.

Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

Great tires. Drove from PA to MA in driving rain. Even at 70 mph, no hint of hydroplaning. Never drove on tires this good in the rain. This morning, I drove on twisty, hilly roads. Never chirped once, even when pushing it a bit in corners.

...The place we were staying was on a hill and the road wasn't very well cleared: it was snowy and icy. These tires enabled us to get up the hill with no problem. I saw other drivers struggling.

We drove to Stowe, Vermont for a very snowy weekend this past winter. The place we were staying was on a hill and the road wasn’t very well cleared: it was snowy and icy. These tires enabled us to get up the hill with no problem. I saw other drivers struggling. Our friends weren’t able to get up the hill at all. It’s good to have such reliable tires!

Bought this tire because of a friend. I've always put Michelin's on my vehicles. I'm very happy I took the chance on these. I live in Jackson Hole, Wy where it snows like crazy all winter. I never had an issue with traction even on days where my driveway is covered in a foot of snow and unplowed roads. The handling is awesome too. It's the best all season tire I have ever owned. I was halfway expecting to put on my snow tires midway through winter. But they did so well I never even needed them And this year was a bad winter.

...Maine winters are long with a variety of challenging conditions and for years I have run 2 sets of tires-one for winter and the other all-season... I couldn't be more satisfied because the snow traction is very good...

Exceptional performance in all areas makes this the most versitile tire I have ever owned. Maine winters are long with a variety of challenging conditions and for years I have run 2 sets of tires-one for winter and the other all-season. I was reluctant to buy a second set of wheels and winter tires for this car, decided also to avoid the spring/fall changeover cost and took a chance with the Weaterready model. I couldn't be more satisfied because the snow traction is very good, there is little tire noise and a two-week jaunt to South Carolina showed how civilized the tires' road manners are. Sure, there are slight tradeoffs, but I can't see me buying any other tire for my driving situation.

Coming from Michelin AS 3+, I was hoping this tire would rise to the occasion. So far, very pleased. More miles should tell the tale. Wet and dry traction very good, steering response a bit less precise than the Michelin as expected but ride is a bit more comfy.

These Goodyear Assurance tires are the best tire I have ever bought and put on my Acura RSX Type S. These tires are like glue when it comes to traction and cornering. They are very quiet and smooth also. Tread wear has been excellent so far and they are well worth the extra money paid as compared to the cheaper tires. I will definitely buy these tires again.

Put these on ahead of a Montana winter and love them. Had 8 inches of snow over the weekend and these tires are awesome! Can go everywhere, even steep icy city streets. They will spin but overall the next best thing other then studded winter tires. Great ride at 85 mph in interstate. Highly recommended if you live in snow country.

...quit and smooth ride on these tires...

I only have 1200 miles on these tires so far but very impressed with dry and wet conditions. Very quit and smooth ride on these tires. We don't get a lot of snow in North Carolina but being a mailman I have to report to work in all weather conditions. I fill confident that these tires will do just fine with the little bit of snow we may or may not get! Haven't bought anything but Michelin tires over the past 20 years and was very hasn't about switching to Goodyear. So far LOVE these! Only got a little over 22K with the original set that came on the car.(Bridgestone Dueler)

...Much smoother ride with excellent handling ability, I pushed a little harder on the Honda Crosstour V6 with it holding steady to the road...

These tires are amazing compared to what I had on OEM michelin lattitude. I as hesitant being that there were very few comments in regards to this tire. With only 600 miles this past week from brooklyn to hunter, ny to hudson, ny to west of new jersey. Much smoother ride with excellent handling ability, I pushed a little harder on the Honda Crosstour V6 with it holding steady to the road. It felt like I was glued to the asphalt even during the torrential down pour upstate ny two weeks ago. I am not as hard on the gas pedal now as before, the tire just rolls. Also improved mileage, usually I get 325 to a full tank and now up to 375-400 on the highway. As for the snow remains to be seen with it being absolutely sure we will be driving to vermont with comments to follow.

...They also performed well in the rain (until the last 5K miles), were comfortable and responsive on dry pavement and were relatively quiet. And as stated, they've lasted quite well exceeding the manufacturers warranty (I rotate every 5K - 6K miles)...

Bought the same tires two years ago shortly after I purchased my front wheel drive Toyota Prius, I currently have over 165K miles on the car and will be replacing them with the same tires just purchased on TireRack.com. I also bought these for my 2009 Ford Edge and put on about 30K miles on that set before selling the car. I find these tires worked well for the larger Edge but even better for the smaller and much lighter Prius.

These tires surpassed all expectations I had for them! Great riding, lower noise than the previous tires and they handled very well under all circumstances. Now, I''m not very aggressive (I do drive a Prius) so I would expect most tires would handle ok for me under many conditions. I drive a lot of miles...over 30K per year. Over the past few years i''ve averaged about 10K per year doing gig work (Lyft, Uber, Instacart, etc). These WeatherReady''s got my low clearance Prius through 6 inches of fresh snow with very few problems. I don''t recall the traction control kicking that first night delivering groceries. I would definitely recommend these to anyone living in a northern climate. Can only imagine they''re spectacular with AWD!

They also performed well in the rain (until the last 5K miles or thereabouts), were comfortable and responsive on dry pavement and where relatively quiet. And as stated, they''ve lasted quite well exceeding the manufacturers warranty (I rotate every 5K - 6K miles). Great tires, no real complaints, and I''d say as good as my beloved Michelin Defenders. The only real downfall I encountered was my Gas Mileage dropped about 5% on average (47mpg vs 50mpg for the first 15K miles I owned the car with old tires vs last 50K+).

If you''re thinking about it (and you must be since you''ve read this entire review), just buy them, it''s a no-brainer!! Be sure to check for rebates! Solid tires, solid deal!
