The Discoverer Road+Trail AT is Cooper's On-Road All-Terrain tire, built for the drivers of pickups, work vehicles, and SUVs who need a tire with the rugged durability to keep up with their active lifestyles. Engineered to tackle dirt, gravel, mud and the urban jungle, the Discoverer Road+Trail AT combines off-road prowess with agreeable on-road comfort and year-round traction. It even handles light snow well enough that it meets the tire industry's severe snow service rating requirements and earns the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
A durable compound resistant to cutting, cracking and tearing joins with the Discoverer Road+Trail AT's next-generation all-terrain tread pattern. This design features rugged, interlocking tread blocks off-roaders expect working alongside Cooper's Road Glide Technology to provide a smooth, quiet experience on the pavement. The alternating scoop and cleat lugs in the shoulder, sporting a thick, angled design further down the sidewall, were created to find grip on rock, in thick mud or loose soil. Deep, circumferential grooves and wide, lateral notches improve resistant to hydroplaning. The interlocking center tread lugs provide stability on the road and snow, while zigzag sipes in the shoulders create the biting edges needed for traction in slippery conditions.
The internal construction of the Discoverer Road+Trail AT consists of a robust, two-ply polyester casing. A single-ply, nylon reinforcement above two high-strength steel belts further increases durability and handling response, along with providing high-speed stability.
Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

This is my second set. I love at 7000 ft and sometimes have heavy snowfalls requiring using 4x4. I am equally satisfied by their dry traction, wet traction and snow traction. Obviously how one drives determines how much slippage you will experience, but by driving within the limits of conditions and the tires ability these tires will not let you down. And the price is very competitive.

...The traction in snow has been amazing. I accidentally drove into a grass lot covered in about 4 inches of snow and felt the truck sink but had no issue at all getting out in 2 wheel drive...
Great tires. These tires are actually a size bigger (1 inch taller) than oem so I was a little worried how they would feel but they've been great. Living in Buffalo NY I have already experienced a lot of ice and snow with these tires and they've been good. The traction in snow has been amazing. I accidentally drove into a grass lot covered in about 4 inches of snow and felt the truck sink but had no issue at all getting out in 2 wheel drive. I have experienced some slippage on my icey driveway that does have a pretty steep incline. Sometimes I do have to throw my truck into 4x4 when backing into it when there's a lot of ice but it isn't a huge deal and I figure that would be the case with most non winter tires if not all. The noise on these tires are actually just as quiet as the all season highway tires that were on the truck when I bought it so no complaints about that. If you want an aggressive tire that isn't overkill that's good in the winter and dry roads, I would 100% recommend the road and trails.

Great tire, no complaints so far. I live in Michigan, I've used this set for a winter already, it's almost as good as a set of snow tires.

I have taken them up to the mountains with about 6" of snow. The roads were already plowed, but my driveway was covered with hard packed icy snow... I did need 4 wheel drive to get up the driveway, but I was impressed with the controlled feeling going up and down the driveway, with minimal sliding around...
I bought these Cooper Discoverer Road + Trail ATs in size 275/60/20 for my 2017 Tundra. They replaced Goodyear Workhorse HTs that were a size smaller at 275/55/20. The Goodyear tires were fine, but I wanted something better and more suitable for off-road trails and snow. I also wanted to size up a bit from factory spec because my truck has a 2" leveling kit and I felt I needed to fill up that wheel well a bit more for a better appearance.
By sizing up I added about 4 lbs per tire, which after doing some calculations to account for the size difference, appears to have had a minimal impact on gas mileage. Maybe lost a half mile per gallon of gas. I know some people have stated that they have lost 1 or 2 mpg by switching to these Coopers. I have to wonder if they switched from a standard load tire to a higher load rated tire. Many of the Cooper Discoverer Road + Trail AT sizes come in XL load ratings, which adds significant weight to the tires. In my particular size, I was able to stay with the standard load (SL) rated tire which is what I wanted. I don't tow anything and don't haul very heavy loads.
I've only put 1,250 miles on these tires, but I've driven them in most conditions that I will be encountering. They seem to perform great on wet or dry pavement. I have taken them out on some off-road dirt trails which included some steep and rocky inclines and they performed really well there too. Lastly, I have taken them up to the mountains with about 6" of snow. The roads were already plowed, but my driveway was covered with hard packed icy snow. Driveway is at approximately 15 degree incline. I did need 4 wheel drive to get up the driveway, but I was impressed with the controlled feeling going up and down the driveway, with minimal sliding around.
In summary, I am very happy with these tires. They are good looking, quiet, comfortable, and as far as I can tell, they perform well in most all conditions. Hopefully they wear well. Time will tell on that.

...They handle great and they have very good traction in mud with low noise on the highway...
I am extremely happy with these tires. My previous set of tires (Falken Wildpeak AT Trail) had to be replaced with only 13000 miles on them. I understand that was partially my fault because of bad upper ball joints. Having that issue fixed I have put over 25000 miles on the Cooper tires and they look like new . I feel like they should last 60000 miles easily. They handle great and they have very good traction in mud with low noise on the highway. This was my first set of Cooper Tires but it definitely won't be my last .

...The traction is much better than my previous tires; I could really tell when pulling out of some spots or uneven surfaces near the shore...
I have these Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail AT tires on my 2008 Nissan Titan for a year now, I’m really impressed. Living in Arizona, I often find myself driving through a mix of terrains and smooth highways, especially when I’m towing my boat to the lake.
First off, let me say these tires handle the heat well. Even on those scorching summer days, they performed great without any signs of overheating or excessive wear. When towing my boat, I felt secure and stable on the road. The traction is much better than my previous tires; I could really tell when pulling out of some spots or uneven surfaces near the shore. Also, I appreciate the quiet ride they offer compared to other All-Terrain tires I've tried. On the highway, they’re surprisingly smooth, which makes those longer drives more comfortable.
In terms of tread life, they seem pretty durable so far. I haven't noticed any significant wear after a few trips, which gives me confidence in their longevity.
Overall, I’d definitely recommend the Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail AT for anyone looking for solid performance, especially if you're frequently towing and need that extra support. They’ve turned out to be a great fit for my Titan and my adventures around Arizona.

...On the road, they're surprisingly quite given the tread, and have excellent traction on dry or wet pavement...
Probably the best tires I've ever had for a truck. Amazing traction in every condition I've driven in.
In Virginia, where we currently live, we have a homestead at the top of a steep dirt driveway and I've been able to drive up it without issue every time, whether the clay/dirt is dry or slick or slop. Out in Nevada where we used to live, I drove off-road on sandy and rocky terrain and they performed brilliantly. Have driven a total of 10 days or so in snowy/icy conditions and they did well in the snow, average on ice, which is to be expected.
On the road, they're surprisingly quite given the tread, and have excellent traction on dry or wet pavement. They also absorb bumps and potholes very well. While towing any of our trailers (weighing 3,000 - 6,000lbs) they feel stable and capable.

...Everyday driving they're comfortable and quiet...
Overall, I like these tires. Everyday driving they're comfortable and quiet. I've used them in Moab on moderate/ slightly difficult 4x4 trails (it's a cherokee trailhawk, not a rubicon) and had no issues. Also have used them pretty extensively on Colorado 4x4 trails and forest service roads in slight mud and packed to overnight fresh fluff snow with no problems. I have not had an opportunity to really test them in nasty conditions yet. I do have slight concern in really icy conditions on the road and I did almost slip right through an intersection on black ice, but normal crappy snowstorm conditions on I70 through the CO mountains I've had no problems. They seems to have worn more than I've expected, as with Coopers I've had before on a previous vehicle, I really don't think I'm going to get the full mileage out of them as I did the stock Firestone Destination A/T. I've rotated them twice and keep them up to pressure during normal day-to- day. I do air them down when offroading, but not drastically. Overall they have been great tires though. Wet traction is good, hydroplaning is satisfactory. I don't think my cherokee trailhawk will see another set of tires under my ownership, but I wouldn't argue with another set of these tires.

...Great wear...
No drop in mpg from OE Michelins, (changed out at 30k miles), immediate overall improvement . Looks, wet driving in gully washers heavy rains, great for towing boat and wet traction on steep boat ramps. Great wear, no visual or felt alignment issues. Air downed to 15 psi on Ocracoke Island NC for a werk in the fluffy sands and pavement under 45 mpg. Excellent sand perfirmance full of gear in the back. I will buy again.

...The tread wear is amazing but I'm simply blown away by how quiet these tires are considering their offroad capability...
These tires are definitely a disrupter in the marketplace. With an offroad capability close to that of the KO2, and the tread life and quite ride of a highway tire these are going to be hard to beat. The price is better as well. I've driven these tires offroad and onroad, and I just got back from a 2,000 fishing trip with lots of gear and three passengers. The tires were quiet with great stability at highway speeds as well as a comfortable ride on and offroad. The tread gave me a great feel and confident handling performance in all conditions. The tread wear is amazing but I'm simply blown away by how quiet these tires are considering their offroad capability. I would easily buy them again, and for the price recommend them to all of my friends. The tires I had before this were the General Grabbers A/T, which did now hold up to its tread life estimate.

...Still look brand new with almost new tread depth after 11k miles and 2 rotations.
Fantastic set of tires. Went to these from the Cooper AT3 XLTs that had some interesting wear. Very pleased with the performance all around. Never pushed these to their limit, but great in dry, wet, and snow. These got me through and out of the Buffalo 2024 blizzard that pushed the playoff game. Easily 2” or more of snow on road for over an hour, not once did I slide (of course, with reasonable driving). Still look brand new with almost new tread depth after 11k miles and 2 rotations.
