High Performance All-Season tires are for drivers who want a combination of a sporty appearance, predictable handling and H- or V-speed rated durability along with all-season traction, including in light snow. High Performance All-Season tires branded with the M+S symbol are often used as Original Equipment (O.E.) on sports cars, sporty coupes and performance sedans.

O.E. High Performance All-Season tires are typically purchased as direct replacements for worn-out pairs/sets of the vehicle's original tires. They can also be used for other vehicle applications in complete sets of four or axle pairs if available in an appropriate size, load range and speed rating to match the existing O.E. tires' performance category and specifications.

Customers Say

Drivers consistently rate the Toyo Proxes A20 as delivering confident dry traction and responsive handling, with many scores in the 8-10 range. Wet performance receives positive feedback for reliable grip, though a few lower scores suggest variability in heavy rain. Comfort earns praise for a smooth ride in most conditions, but some note road noise and firmness. The standout concern is treadwear, with numerous reports of rapid wear and shorter-than-expected tread life, even for a high-performance all-season tire.

...Handles great in Dry and Wet conditions from new till about 45K miles started to wear on shoulder edge of tire... Of course with wet weather and downpours notice slight occasional slip or hydroplaning so time to replace...

Great OEM tire on my Prius V.Handles great in Dry and Wet conditions from new till about 45K miles started to wear on shoulder edge of tire. I do drive semi aggressively. Tires are all 4/32 at 48k mi. Of course with wet weather and downpours notice slight occasional slip
or hydroplaning so time to replace. The grip is fantastic on this tire very stable takes bumps well so a great sport tire and relativly comfortable . I could get another 5-10 k but after 50k miles I really like the tires so will probably buy these again. Also considering Cooper RS3 G1 or Nokian ZLine or Entyre2. Michelin seems to be cutting back on tread depth so prob wear the same or a little longer but prices are too steep...for what you get.

Tires came as OEM on my Prius V, and within 10 days I was driving in rain associated with a tornado north of Atlanta. The standing water on the road could be as deep as 3 inches and sometimes more. Regardless, in all situations the car never hydroplaned or skidded. Within 3 months and I was again in tornado weather near Dallas. Again, the rain and hail left others stranded, but not the Prius...totally amazing.
I have driven across country 3 times and round trips to Houston at least 4 times. Never had any issues with the tires..good sound and a Great ride.
The tires are still legal, but would not normally look as though they could handle snow. Last night I was at a concert in Knoxville, when we came out there was already more than 4 inches of snow and coming down hard. I had 28 miles to get home...lots of hills and no snow removal. All the way home we saw car after car stranded, but we kept going steady up every hill and the heavy ridges. Totally amazing...great tire!!

...Excellent performance/traction in dry and wet weather conditions...

These tires came standard with my 2013 Prius - Persona trim as 215/45R17. Excellent performance/traction in dry and wet weather conditions. Good/decent in winter/light to moderate snow (upto 4 inches (10cm) of snow) and did okay even with around 6" although the low setting of my car hindered that more than anything (had to move cars around for shoveling purposes). Haven't encountered icy conditions with the tires so there is no opinion on that. Road noise is acceptable although I have had "quieter" tires. Tread-wear is a little disappointing but expected after reading the specs on Tirerack. At 39k miles and perhaps another 2,000 to 3,000 miles before winter sets in, I will have to look to get a new set of tires before this coming winter. Also, the vehicles tends to skid a little more in certain sudden stop conditions.
Strictly speaking of happiness, I enjoyed the performance and fun the Bridgestone Ecopia series and Continental ProContact on my previous Priuses gave me with the flexibility of being boring but staid when required. The Continentals perform pretty much on the dime including sudden stop conditions.
Strictly speaking of the tires, however, I will have to say that the Toyo's perform a tad better in handling vs ride comfort but a tad noisier and slight skidding during certain sudden stop conditions.

Excellent tires. Came dealer installed on my 2012 Murano LE AWD. I've driven through two heavy snow storms - once all the way from Toronto to Washington DC. I was driving relatively cautiously through the storm, but the tires remained stable in about 3 inches of highway snow/slush with continuous snow. Average to agressive highway driving gave me 40,000 miles. I'm going to try out the michelin latitude tour hp tires to see if they give me more miles, but I would otherwise fully recommend these Toyo Proxes A20 tires to anyone.

...Snow/wet traction - the Toyo and Continentals were better at wet traction than the Integrity I had. Both performed admirably through fairly light and heavy snow conditions...

2013 Toyota Prius Persona (Performance) OE Tires.
Only 15,000 miles so far - but with this particularly brutal snow season 2013-2014, it definitely let me test its snow worthiness. It measured up for the most part.
However, I thought the Goodyear Integrity that came OE on my previous 2007 Toyota Prius were better. The Continental ProContact with EcoPlus I got afterwards were even better.
Overall performance: the three tires were the same.
Noise: the Continentals were better - very low noise.
Handling: The Toyo 215/45R17 do etch out the Continental 205/55R16 I used previously (note the wheel width difference). So they're probably about the same if you adjust for the width difference.
Snow/wet traction - the Toyo and Continentals were definitely better at wet traction than the Integrity I had. Both performed adminirably through fairly light and heavy snow conditions.
Price wise, however, the toyo's are super pricey. It was a good thing I got the Wheel+Tire insurance that was offered with my car. Otherwise, I would definitely replace them with Bridgestones or Goodyear (to try out some other LRR tires).

...The dry traction is very good for me overall... I can take turns with ease and confidence and they always pull through even when driving spiritedly...

I've had these tires for nearly 3 years as an OE set on my car. I did lots of traveling from 1,000 mile road trips to driving in cities with very poor condition roads. These tires have handled some tough winters and extremely hot climates. I drove home in a snow storm and they managed to get through about 3 inches of snow with no problems on the highway.

They handle exceptionally well in the rain but hydroplane a bit when driving in heavier rain. The dry traction is very good for me overall. They're comfortable and very predictable. I can take turns with ease and confidence and they always pull through even when driving spiritedly.

I just got them checked out today and are 4 to 5/32 in tread. They will need replacement shortly but I'm very impressed how long they lasted me. My OE tires on my old car only lasted 22,000 miles and they were already bald!

They are definitely a good tire for OE but I definitely wouldn't spend the high price that these sell for. They are great tires to use while you have them, but there are much better choices in the same price range.

Drive these tires for 65000 miles before trading the car in. They still had approx 4 /32 inch of tread left. They worked great in most all conditions. Very quiet as well. Would definitely recommend.

...Ride is good, but like most tires, noise level gradually increases as tread wears down. Still not bad at all, but no longer silent...

OE on my 2010 Prius. Thought the 300 wear rating would mean this is a 20,000 mile tire. Looks like it will go more than 50,000 miles easily. Doesn't rain much around here, but have had no problems in the wet with these tires. Ride is good, but like most tires, noise level gradually increases as tread wears down. Still not bad at all, but no longer silent. Consider these are on a Prius, so hard cornering isn't normal driving. But, it does take a lot of speed on corners to get the stability control to activate, so cornering grip is good. Very stable on the freeway and they track well on two lane crowned roads too. MPG is better than expected from a wide tire, though I feel a real LRR tire would do couple of MPG better. Avg MPG for 38K miles is 43.5 (actual gal vs miles) or 45.2 (using the car's on board trip computer). If not for the outrageous price I would buy another set when the OE ones wear out.

...At just under 2 years, and 14,000 miles, it is apparent these tires will not last even to 20,000 miles... the tread wear is ridiculously bad...

These 20-inch Toyo Proxes came as OEM tires on our 2012 Nissan Murano LE. My wife drives this luxury SUV 10 miles to work each day, plus weekend shopping and a twice a year trip to the TX coast. At just under 2 years, and 14,000 miles, it is apparent these tires will not last even to 20,000 miles. Overall tire characteristics are decent for a SUV, but the tread wear is ridiculously bad. Do NOT buy these tires!

The Toyo Proxes A20 tires were OEM on our 2012 Murano LE, and have been a major disappointment on a "near luxury SUV" with a $38K MSRP. The tread wear on these Toyo's is horrible and these tires are almost at the wear bars at 25K miles. The handling is fine on dry pavement, but only fair on wet roads. Cannot understand what Nissan was thinking in putting there tires on the flagship SUV. Definitely would NOT purchase again.
