Blizzak WS90 calloutsThe Blizzak WS90 is Bridgestone's Studless Ice & Snow winter tire developed for drivers of sedans, coupes, minivans and crossovers looking for confident control in a variety of difficult winter weather. When winter driving conditions are at their worst, Bridgestone's Blizzak WS90 winter tires are designed to be at their best.

The directional pattern of the Blizzak WS90 features increased block stiffness to deliver more responsive steering in addition to improved wear life, and Bridgestone's EdgePerformance Technology Package includes full-depth features and interlocking sipes to provide impressive performance longer through the tire's life. The tread pattern features greater contact area and 15% more block edges than the Blizzak WS90's predecessor, increasing ice traction and reducing braking distances in slippery conditions. It is molded from Bridgestone's next generation Multi-Cell compound with bite particles, which allows the tire to remove the thin layer of water that develops between the tread rubber and icy surfaces, enabling the tire to better grip the ice. Silica enhancements in the compound further improve grip in snow and on ice.

Blizzak WS90 Studless Ice & Snow tires meet the industry's severe snow service requirements and are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

Blizzak WS90 tires feature snow platforms that act as winter wear bars and notify drivers when they are near the end of the Multi-Cell compound (actual depth of Multi-Cell compound varies slightly by tire size). Beneath the Multi-Cell compound is Bridgestone's best winter compound, but without the Multi-Cell feature.

Install Bridgestone Blizzak WS90 tires in sets of four only.

Due to the traction capabilities of Blizzak WS90 tires, Bridgestone recommends using them only in sets of four to provide the best handling characteristics and tire performance.

All-Weather vs. Winter Tires: The Definitive Test(12:05)

Brent and TJ set off with a couple of objectives in this, the first test of 2026. The first is to highlight the differences between two types of Grand Touring tires: all-season and all-weather. Second, to see how they stack up to dedicated winter tires. The internet is a great resource, but not all the information out there is accurate, and this test is designed to truly set the record straight.

...still running them into early spring as the hydroplaning resistance is surprisingly good even as a snow tire...

Great tire, used to sell them as a tire salesmen, put them on my new car and they performed flawlessly through a particularly rough winter, still running them into early spring as the hydroplaning resistance is surprisingly good even as a snow tire. I drive like I have 9 lives and have only broke traction once for a few seconds during a deer avoidance. Tires quickly regained traction and pulled me back straight. 9/10, highly recommend, especially for new snow drivers.

Fantastic snow tires! Completely confident feel, even in slick or slushy snow, and in deep snow drives almost like on tarmac. Much better performance than expected. Only slippage I've experienced so far has been with an ice underlayer, and even then it was minimal and quickly regained traction. Have not yet experienced sheet ice with these tires on, but if there's anything at all on the surface to grab onto then I feel like these tires would grab onto it and hold. Cannot recommend them more highly as snow tires. (On warm dry pavement they feel a little spongy and have longer stopping distance compared to my Michelin Pilot Sport all-weather performance tires, but that's completely expected and not a fair comparison. Just something to be aware of if switching to these tires before the snow arrives.)

...Dry traction is almost too good (they grab a little in corners) but of course have some expected squishiness under sharp steering (as do all winter tires)...

This is the second set of Blizzak WS90s I've purchased, and they don't disappoint in the snow! Excellent traction, never feel loose or slippy, whether snow is deep or slushy or something in-between. (I live in northern New England, where snow is a constant all winter.) Dry traction is almost too good (they grab a little in corners) but of course have some expected squishiness under sharp steering (as do all winter tires). So far pretty quiet too. Will continue to use these every winter!

I particularly appreciate that they are quite competent on dry roads because I hate squishy cornering performance.

I skipped numeric ratings because these snow tires are on my wife's 2025 A4 which I have never driven farther than to the car wash. She had WS70s on her 2015 A4 and I have WS90s on my 2022 WRX. We have both been satisfied with them. Her driving style is average but mine is rather spirited. We have had the first or second mildest winter on record and I particularly appreciate that they are quite competent on dry roads because I hate squishy cornering performance.

REVIEW I've had these tires for 2 winters now and they've been fantastic in the snow and ice. The tread wear seems to be holding up well after about 20,000 miles. I'm impressed with how much tread is still left considering the harsh conditions I drive in. --- "The tread wear seems to be holding up well after about 20,000 miles.
