Grand Touring All-Season run-flat tires provide temporary self-supporting run-flat mobility for a distance of 50 miles at up to 50 mph, even after a puncture has allowed complete air pressure loss. They are for drivers who want a combination of a sophisticated appearance, competent handling and H-speed rated (or higher) durability, along with all-season traction, including in light snow. Grand Touring All-Season run-flat tires branded with the M+S symbol and are often used as Original Equipment (O.E.) on sophisticated coupes and luxurious performance sedans.

O.E. Grand Touring All-Season run-flat tires are typically purchased as direct replacements for worn-out pairs/sets of the vehicle's original tires. They can also be used for other vehicle applications in complete sets of four or axle pairs if available in an appropriate size, load range and speed rating to match the existing O.E. run-flat tires' performance category and specifications.

NOTE: Run-flat tires are only recommended for vehicles that are originally equipped with self-supporting run-flat tires and equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system.

Though they cannot be labeled as run-flat tires, tires branded with MOExtended or MOE on their sidewalls offer run-flat-like characteristics by delivering limited temporary extended mobility after a puncture results in complete loss of air pressure. Because MOExtended or MOE tires do not have the same speed and distance endurance of conventional run-flat tires, they should not be substituted in any situation where a conventional run-flat tire is required. To confirm what your vehicle needs, check our Original Equipment tire listing for your year, make and model or see your vehicle owner's manual.

...I feel more confident in wet conditions than I've ever felt with other tires on this or previous vehicles.

I've been a long-distance freeway commuter on the wet side of Oregon for most of the last 20 years, always in a sports car or performance sedan, and I've never felt compelled to write a review on any tires I've purchased ... but these are so clearly superior to the stock BMW tires that here I am commenting. In short, they are quieter, smoother, and grippier than the alternative. I feel more confident in wet conditions than I've ever felt with other tires on this or previous vehicles.

...Even in the wet, I could push the ATS very hard at all tasks.

This is the original equipment tire that is now almost worn out. I'm not a fan of the run flat concept but it seems to be the direction we are heading. The design of run flats provide a harsh ride but also benefit handling. I was skeptical of this tire originally but found the limits we very high in handling braking and getting started. Even in the wet, I could push the ATS very hard at all tasks. This may be due to the GM stability system working so well rather than the tire. The dry cornering limits and responsiveness are amazing. It's like the car goes where you want without hardly moving the wheel.

The down side of this tire is the price and the fact that you feel every little bump. I would prefer a smoother ride so I ordered the Bridgestone Driveguards. Even if the tradeoff is reduced capability, the harshness is supposedly reduced with the Bridgestone. I would go with non-run flats if I drove this car every day but since my wife now commandeered the ATS, I want her to get somewhere safe to call AAA if she loses air in a tire.

I think the 30k life is a little low but we do push the car hard at times. I can't remember ever having a tire with this much performance last that long.

Since we don't get too much snow here, I can't say too much for the winter capabilities. The best practice I found was to let the clutch out and let the traction control work it's magic. (The technology seems to be dumbing down our skills.) Any further North and I would opt for dedicated winter shoes.

If the ATS was my daily driver, I would find a way to secure a spar, Jack and tools in the trunk and go with standard tires. Thank you Cadillac for eliminating the spare tire well!

I was especially impressed with how they performed driving at around 70-80 MPH on Interstate 90 in a very heavy downpour. The CLA 250 drove straight as an arrow...

I have a 2014 Mercedes Benz CLA 250 4MATIC. When I ordered the Sports Package, I learned that this trim comes with summer tires. This isn't an option for me as I live in Seattle and need all-season tires. So I bit the bullet and purchased this set of Michelin run-flats. The MB Seattle dealer installed them for me at no cost after my car arrived from Hungary.

These are my first set of run-flats, and I have to say that compared to a set of normal tires, the run flats are MUCH louder. But I knew this from the get-go. Run-flats are noisier than conventional tires. MB is using them to save on trunk space (so they don't have to make room for a spare tire). I don't like this trend, but it is what it is.

Anyway, all things considered, I really like these tires. I have about 400 miles on them and have driven them on dry roads for about 5 days and under HEAVY rains with a lot of standing water for about 3 days. The tires performed well in both conditions.

I was especially impressed with how they performed driving at around 70-80 MPH on Interstate 90 in a very heavy downpour. The CLA 250 drove straight as an arrow. All-season tires are designed to make you feel confident no matter what the weather conditions, and these tires delivered in that respect.

Sure, I wish they were quieter. But I don't know if that's the fault of the tires or of run-flats in general, or maybe some build aspect of the CLA 250 itself. It's probably a combination of all 3 things. I will say this: if you're diving on a newly paved surface, then the tires are actually very quiet, so road conditions have a big effect on noise, too.

I'll update this report after I've had a chance to try out these tires in snow and ice.

...These tires chewed through 2-4 inches of snow without any problems. The car felt like it was driving on a dry road...

Wow! I usually don't do reviews but what a difference! I switched from the original tires that still had some life in them according to your friendly BMW service. I just could not drive in any snow. I bought these a few weeks ago and I'm driving with a smile on my face! I'm in Chicago and we got hit with the snow badly this year. These tires chewed through 2-4 inches of snow without any problems. The car felt like it was driving on a dry road. I highly recommend these if you live in a 4 season climate and need something reliable for the winter

...Winter performance was perfectly acceptable. Snows are always best, but if you have AWD and don't live in big snow country, you can get by with these. I live in Boston area, and winter 2013-2014 was one of the coldest and snowiest in a long itme. I got everywhere I needed to go...

I am replacing this set, which are defective. I could never get a blanace that would eliminate shaking at 60-80 mph. Hunter Roadforce showed three out of four tires to be out of spec for roundness. Very unusual for Michelen. I hope this set it better.

Except for the lumpiness, I like these tires. Turn-in is much more crisp than OEM Contintental run-flats. Ride and noise are OK, but if you are really that concerned about ride and noise you should not be driving a car like mine. Handling is top concern, and these tires deliver better than the Contis or Bridestone run-flats I've tried.

Wet perfromance is excellent. Dry performance isn't up to sticky summer performance tires, but if you can slide the car on dry, public roads on these tires you are crazy. Go to the track for that. You can scare any passenger on any on-ramp with MXM4 ZPs just fine without breaking them loose.

10k miles on 30% of tread adds up to acceptable wear, given their good traction.

I have driven these tires in dry,wet and snow conditions. It capable of all road conditions in Chicago, even in some deep snow and ices, it feels safe...

I replace these tires for the factory conti ssr on my 335 xdrive. The original conti is very good however these MXM4 is just better. better in almost very area including better traction, sharper cornering and softer ride and less noise. I have driven these tires in dry,wet and snow conditions. It capable of all road conditions in Chicago, even in some deep snow and ices, it feels safe.
The only draw back is seems the tire have 1 less mile per gallon in gas, it might be due to change of driving behavior, but it is really don't hurt compare to all those gains i had. Over all, it is the best run flat i have driven on.

ps.I just went to the dealer for service, they measured the tire tread depth, seems it is also consume faster than the factory conti, but it does come with deeper thread then the conti ssr, so assume they have the same life.
