Michelin  X-Ice Snow SUV

Very happy with our winter tires and wheels! The new wheels have a tad more offset than the stock wheels, but are still under the fenders! The Michelins are quiet and good handling in dry and wet conditions! Thinking they will do fine if we get some ice and snow this winter!

Huge improvement over the stock all-seasons in terms of wet, snow/slush, and ice. The ability to unlock the AWD performance is very reassuring when your tires actually chew through the snow. I have had 3 sets of Michelin X-ice on my car, so when my wife got her SUV this was a no-brainer. Over 5000 miles of pure confidence. Her first reaction to encountering a major winter storm (about 16 inches of snow) was to tell me, "MY CAR IS A TANK". We cannot overstate the importance of winter/snow tires where we live and compared to other winter tires Michelin is truly the only choice. Maybe it's the active noise cancellation, but there was no additional noise, vibration, or harshness from switching to these tires. Compared to an all-season on dry roads, the winter tire does have a tiny amount of "squirm", but on-center feel is great and the car tracks straight. There is no tramlining. You feel the tire load up under hard acceleration and breaking (and obviously hard cornering), but it is all very predictable. You only notice these driving characteristics for the first few drives after swapping from all-seasons, and you quickly learn the benefits once it snows!

this is a real review coming from someone who has used nokian, blizzaks, and other premier winter tires before and never once let the winter dictate when and where I need to go (as an avid skier). you get what you pay for, an incredible winter tire! I have had 8 different winter tires over the years on many different vehicles. these are some of the best hands down. I have put nearly 14K miles on them over one winter and they are quiet, comfortable, and handle everything winter can throw at them. after many miles they have only worn about 2.5/32nds so I feel they will easily go another 15K miles if not more before even thinking about replacing. on a heavy AWD Audi Q7 (275/45/20) SUV they are unstoppable. as expected they have a soft tread and are a full blown winter snow tire so they don't handle like an all-season or summer tire at higher speeds, but they never induced any panic. I drove through multiple 12+ inch blizzards this winter and was passing all the lifted jeeps and trucks everywhere I went. thanks Michelin and tirerack for an awesome tire that exceeded my expectations and seems like it will last for multiple seasons.

Excellent grip on ice and snow ,super quiet,

Great tires! Live near Aspen, CO put them on a Land Rover Defender… Only have about a 1000 miles on them so far but have been very impressed. They’re light snow 3”-5” performance is fantastic… It goes wherever you point it… No slipping or sliding & no wheel spin whatsoever… Only had them in snow over 8” one time and they were great. Stopping on ice… No problem! I’ve had Blizzak’s before (different truck) and I believe these are even better. If they hold up well I’ll definitely buy them again.

Wow, the Michelin X-Ice Snow is the best tire I ever experienced! I'm using these as my winter tires for ski trips, but I'm almost tempted to leave them on during the summer too. The handling on winding mountain roads seems better than my Michelin LTX summer tires. The ride is silky smooth and these tires are also super quiet. The snow and ice grip is excellent.
And the performance in heavy rain is also top notch, I tested it on wet roads by slamming on the brakes and the soft rubber compound would not skid, it stopped very quick. The only downside may be the faster tread wear. Michelin did some amazing engineering with this new tire.

Wow. Great winter tire. Excellent snow and ice tire and smooth and quiet on dry roads. I have had a lot of different winter tires and brands and these are great. Unless you are looking for a sports car performance winter tire (if you are see the Alpin in this brand) this is the tire. It tops all the tests, and I know why. I have driven across icy North Dakota and the windy snowy highways of Montana and these tires have surpassed expectations.

Love these tires! They're quiet and precise, for a winter tire. Cold, dry weather response is good and traction limits are fine. They're rock-solid on cold, packed snow with confidence-inspiring braking and cornering.

I haven't had the opportunity to use them in snow or freezing rain yet. Boy are these tires QUIET and a very comfortable ride. They are better than the ix 2 and 3's I have used both. Looking forward to the ice and snow runs.

Haven’t had the tires long enough to give an educated review. So far (1500 miles), the tires have been great. Comfortable ride, low noise, good in light snow and rain. My car handles almost as well as with the original all season tires.

Great snow tires. Ride well, and they’re as quiet as my stock all season Bridgestones. Handling is good for snow tires. Had limited snow driving this past winter, as I was away when we got the most snow, but based on my experience with X-Ice tires on my last car, snow won’t be a problem

These are literally the best tires I’ve ever owned. Amazing in snow and rain. Very quiet on the highway and the tread-wear for a soft tire has been very good. Highly recommend this tire especially for larger SUV’s.

30,000 miles on these tires, worn year-round on a Tesla Y on -1" wheels from tirerack. I expected much more wear through the summer with a heavy car, pleasantly surprised at the slow wear. These add a bit of noise and slower and plusher handling compared to stock. I'll replace these with an identical pair and keep wearing this tire/wheel combo year-round.

These are quite possibly the best performing winter tire I have ever experienced. As soon the snow started to fly, we took the car out for a drive on empty back-country roads. First, I tried a hard stop from 35 mph. The tires gripped the snow and ice so well. Then I turned of stability control and tried to get the back end to come about. Again, the tires were much grippier than I could have imagined. I couldn't believe how much more quiet the rig was coming off the all-weather tires. I have been transitioning to Michellin tires on all our rigs. They tend to cost more, but to me, they are worth every penny.
