Goodyear Eagle LS-2 All Season Car & Crossover Tire in 255/50R19

I think this tire performed exceptionally well on my vehicle in dry conditions. It was pretty quiet and responded very well, even if cornering over 45mph. It did not perform too well in ice or snow and tires would spin fairly often. My biggest gripe, and it will prevent me from purchasing again, is that I got the tires rated at 6/32 on treadwear after just 27k miles. I was looking to get closer to 40k at least out of these tires. I had them on the vehicle for just over 2 years now. I will definitely scope out an equal performance tire that is rated for higher longevity when I purchase this summer/fall.

Great set of tires on the cheap. I wasn't expecting much. These are some of the lowest quality offerings (if you're going by price) that Goodyear has to offer in the SUV and Light Duty Pick Up category, but they wear well and the traction is great especially on dry surfaces. There is no minimum tread life warranty as you'll see listed on many tires, but I called Goodyear and they said you can expect at least 30k. I'm pretty sure with proper rotation, one could get at least that, if not double. I'd like to report back at 30k with an update, and I will!...if I can remember..

Enjoy these tires. They're good tires, and you can't beat em' for the price.

These tires came with my vehicle OEM and overall they were a pretty good match, but not confidence inspiring in heavy rain/puddles, and especially snow, slush, and ice. I will commend them on tread wear, comfort, and noise. I drive about 450 miles/week (80% Hwy 20% city) I was able to get 56k miles out of these tires with some tread to spare in the rear, but low in the front. If winter wasn't coming I would have made it to 60-65k... Dry traction is pretty darn good for an SUV/Crossover.

My new tires BFGoodrich Advantage T/A Sport are noisier, and wet traction is bad but still "breaking them in" only about 500 miles.

I bought my Impala brand new off the lot in 2006 with 200mi. on the car with these tires on them. Just recently I had to get my tires replaced. Even though I got a little over 32k out of them, instead of the 50K as advertised, they worked pretty good. I rotated my tires when needed. Someone told me they were only supposed to last 25K, but I got more treadlife out of them. The tires handled great in dry and in wet conditions. Snow conditions were not that bad. In deep and light snow it handled well. Barely any road noise and the ride comfort was good, even on the day I replaced them. I'm a college student, so I drive agressively/fast and drive the highway as much as possible, espeically when I take a day/weekend trip and drive in the city as well.



Overall, even though I didn't reach the advertised treadlife, I was satisfied with these tires and I would probably buy them again.

Just replaced these at 41,000 miles. Was hoping to get at least 50k out of these, but no way. They don't have full depth sipes, so once they wear to a certain point, you start getting bald strips in the tread pattern. These were mounted on a full size crew cab pickup, so I expect the back end to have some traction loss due to lack of weight back there, but I lost wet traction while taking off from a stop at least 10k miles ago. Traction control was constantly kicking in. Cornering while accelerating from a stop came soon after (on dry pavement). The one plus I have for these is they're quiet and comfortable, perhaps just not best for full size vehicles. I switched these out for some Continental Terrain Contact H/Ts. Hopefully they perform better.

215/45R17 OE tire. My Forte SX is akin to a 5 door GTI. Owned several VWs in my lifetime. Rotated with each service. Still at 9/32 depth at 13K. Dont drive as "spirited" as I used to but I still dive into the curves. Coming from the northeast, I always used dedicated summer and winter tires. No matter the brand, all season tires are a compromise. They do a few things but none particularly well. Being in Texas now, its only occasional rain n snow. I did not review the snow and ice performance but we did have some snow on Christmas night that iced over and they performed well. I also raited comfort as a 7. Not due to a fault in the tire. I'm just rational enough not to expect "comfort" from a 45-series sidewall. Two road trips so far - Memphis and San Antonio. Perfirmed well. By the current tread depth and how I maintain my car, I expect to meet or exceed the treadlife expectancy. I'd probably replace them with the same unless something great comes along by that time.

This tire does not belong on a truck or SUV period! Especially mine which is why I'm changing these garbage tires out pronto. They look nice. They corner nice. They respond well....ALL IN DRY WEATHER. My major major issue with these tires is that they provide zero traction on wet roads and in Seattle, I can't have it. When my truck loses traction and goes completely horizontal to the road in light rain at 50 mph, any tire is instantly unsuitable for my driving/ safety needs. There's only 30K miles on these tires and the treadware is HORRIBLE as well. It shouldn't matter what kind of driver you are. When you're forking out 130 bucks/ tire you need to expect more which is why I give these babies two big thumbs down and say good luck to you if you put them on your vehicle.

These Goodyear LS tires are perhaps the scariest tires I've ever driven on in wet conditions even though the tires still had lots of tread left. They drove more like worn out tires on wet roads. Hydro planning on almost any wet surface. Experienced momentary loss of control on wet road at moderate speed but avoided collision. I won't even attempt to drive on these in the winter and will replace them with "not a Goodyear" tire before the winter driving season arrives. What's their tag line..."Some of the Best tires in the world have Goodyear written all over them"...not as far as I'm concerned. Quite the opposite.

This tire was stock on my '09 Malibu and I felt compelled to write a review. At first I was satisfied with them, in dry conditions they perform very well and overall I ws happy with their performance. However, it has very terrible traction in wet condition. I was driving on the Queen's Way in Ottawa going about 100km/h on a rainy day. It tented to hydroplane must more than other all-season tires I've driven. At one point I had to slow down suddenly. Now, I didn't stomp on the brakes, I just press on them and I could feel the car want to slide sideways. They are just terrible in wet conditions I could not imagine on snow / ice. I drive in real winter conditions where it's common to have 3 - 6 inches of snow on the raods. I definitely would NOT trust these tires at all during winter. If you live down south where it's nice and sunny sure they are acceptable. Otherwise avoid them like the plague.

The Goodyear Eagle L/S 2 tire was the OEM tire for the car. The car has a great ride; HOWEVER, when it snowed a little, the car would NOT STOP. I had to literally stand on the brake to avoid sliding into cars in front of me that stopped fine. Needless to say, driving in the snow was a horrifying experiencing with these tires even with all wheel drive!!! When I looked online to get a rating for the tire, I found that it's one of the lowest rated tires in the comparison chart! I definitely would NOT RECOMMEND.

I switched to Michelin Primacy MXM. Hopefully these will be better. At least they're rated toward the top of the comparison chart. Plus, the Honda Accord I had came with Michelin Pilot tires and I never had a problem stopping with those.

If you're short on budget, live far from snow and ice, this tires does the job. But live in the mid west like me, highly suggest a better tires or an all wheel drive vehicle vehicle. Price is not bad of what is out there. Remember that you get what you pay for. I've no complain with the life of the tire because never had any issues with them. But on the road they vibrate and are noisy. Slip a lot on ice and no traction on snow. I an ok tire for the south US.

The worst set of tires I have ever owned. These were mounted on the vehicle by the dealership before I purchased the truck. Wet traction is non-existent, ride is hard (even at 2 psi under recommended pressure). Dry traction is only moderate, rear tires will spin when accelerating normally from a stop. So I have a four-wheel drive truck that I can't drive in winter weather. These tires are dangerous.

Tires handle and perform well. Treadwear is terrible. 20,000 miles and they are worn out.

Came with my new 2016 Chevy Silverado High Country. These are the worst tires for wet or snow conditions, THE WORST! Dry is okay or good, tire tread life is bad, 35000. miles and I'm looking for new tires.

I hvae a 2007 Misubishi Outlander that I purchased in June, 07. I have had the truck 8 months and have put 17,800 miles on it doing very normal driving. The Goodyears are worn down to the wear bars in the middle of the tire only. These are the orginal tires and I will NOT buy them again. I am currently (as of 3/18/08) in negotiations with Goodyear for warranty credit towards another set of tires of some make. My research would indicate that they no longer make the Eagle LS-2 in the 225/55 R-18. Maybe I'm not the only one that has had very poor luck with this tire.
