Hankook Ventus V12 evo2The Ventus V12 evo2 (K120) is Hankook's Max Performance Summer tire developed for the drivers of sports cars, sporty coupes and high performance sedans who want to express their personality and style. Designed to deliver impressive traction and handling, Ventus V12 evo2 tires offer comfort and control in warm dry and wet road conditions. However, like all summer tires, they are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

The Ventus V12 evo2 radial's high-grip silica tread compound features an innovative functionalized styrene polymer that lowers tire rolling resistance to enhance vehicle fuel economy without surrendering dry and wet traction. This compound is molded into a directional tread design featuring notched shoulders and 3D intermediate ribs flanking a continuous center rib to promote dry handling and traction. Circumferential and aqua jet lateral grooves promote efficient water evacuation from the center of the tire's contact patch to enhance hydroplaning resistance and wet traction. Grooves in the intermediate blocks feature stealth technology and a unique wing tip design that reduces noise.

The tire's internal structure includes two wide steel belts reinforced by two plies of spirally wrapped jointless nylon. High stiffness bead fillers sandwich hard rubber between the sidewall's polyester cord casing plies to improve handling response by resisting distortion at high speeds and while cornering.

...Michelins are decent in wet weather, but can't beat the double center groove on the Hankooks. When you combine the performance, wet or dry, and the miles these provide, it's a no brainer.

I just ordered another set to replace the current ones. By far the best tire I've had on multiple performance vehicles. Pirelli, Falken, and Goodyear just don't last. Michelins are decent in wet weather, but can't beat the double center groove on the Hankooks. When you combine the performance, wet or dry, and the miles these provide, it's a no brainer.

...The tread on the rear tires was fine for a dry road but at the limit for safe driving in rain, so I replaced them...

This set replaced another set of the identical tires. My review is based on the first set of tires. I replaced the tires after 18,689 miles, which was more than I expected to get. At that point, the tread on the front tires was fine. The tread on the rear tires was fine for a dry road but at the limit for safe driving in rain, so I replaced them. I'm very happy with them and would definitely purchase the same tire again.

...There were also going to be spirited runs in the Blue Ridge Mountains and at the Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap. The tires over exceeded the task and took care of the 911 through all conditions...

CROSS COUNTRY IN A PORSCHE 997 TURBO

I bought these tires for one simple reason. To take me on a 10,000 mile roadtrip across the United States in a Porsche 911/997 Turbo. These tires did not fail. The trip started in June 2023 and ended on 30 days, 9800 miles. San Francisco, California to Nova Scotia, Canada. From the triple digit temperatures of the Southwest deserts to the high speed straights of the midwest States. The hail and snow storms in New Mexico and the thunderstorms in Canada and Pennsylvania. The broken down highways of Arizona (very disappointed in this State) to the rural roads of Route 66. These tires did it all!!!

I needed a set of tires to make it through all conditions. There were going to be some very long days on the highway where the temperatures were in the triple digits. There were also going to be spirited runs in the Blue Ridge Mountains and at the Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap. The tires over exceeded the task and took care of the 911 through all conditions. Sure, I suppose I could have purchased a set of Michelins or Conti's, but that would have been a waste since i'm not tracking the car. The Hankook Ventus series tires were exactly what I needed for this crazy journey from Coast to Coast.

I highly recommend these tires for long distance and better than expected performance at the Tail of the Dragon. See more about my trip on IG @calspeed and #crosscountryporsche. These tires were fantastic and Tire Rack delivered!

...But most importantly ROAD NOISE HAS BEEN ELIMINATED! I can't believe how quite these tires are and how well they handle...

I've been racing Porsche's and BMW's for over 15 years and know that nothing improves the ride and handling of a car more than the tires. As such, I typically buy "expensive" michelins or similar top-of-the-line tires. But my old BMW will be passed on to my son soon and didn't want to spend too much on a new set of tires. so I stared looking at lower cost options. That's when I found out about Hankook. After doing some reading, I really liked the fact that Hankook sponsors British F4, FEM, DTM and other racing series. So as a racer I figured I'd give this lower cost "Korean" option a try. All I can say is WOW!!! I wish I'd knew about Hankook Ventus V12's sooner. I've found that my grip both in the dry and especially in the wet has increased significantly...But most importantly ROAD NOISE HAS BEEN ELIMINATED! I can't believe how quite these tires are and how well they handle. Grip levels are surprisingly high and linear (Better than Michelin Pilot). The tires are very communicative and easy to balance at the limits of adhesion in a high speed corner. Steering is responsive and precise. I'm really glad I purchased the Hankooks for my BMW and the next time my Porsche 997.1 needs tires, I'm ditching the Michelins and getting a set of V12's!

This is a good summer tire if your objective is to have a more comfortable ride and above average traction. Ive driven these on the track. Steering response and turn in are poor compared to other tires I've use because the sidewalls are soft. The benefit of that is a very comfortable ride.

I would not recommend these tires for a weekend or track car but if you want a reasonably priced street tire with good dry and wet grip it works great.

I love Hankook tires, they're soft, but they wear great!
I was disappointed in my Firestone installation center in Creve Coeur, Missouri. They installed my directional tires the wrong way. I only discovered it after I had to go to Mercedes for the alignment. They corrected the error and credited my service.
