The Ecopia EP422 is one of Bridgestone's ecologically oriented Grand Touring All-Season tires developed for the drivers of coupes, sedans, minivans and small crossover vehicles looking to combine year-round traction, handling and comfort with reduced environmental impact. Ecopia EP422 tires are designed to enhance vehicle fuel economy by reducing tire rolling resistance along with the vehicle's carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions while delivering year-round, all-season traction, even in light snow.
The Ecopia EP422 uses an all-season tread compound featuring Bridgestone's unique NanoPro-Tech (Nanostructure-Oriented Properties Control Technology) to reduce rolling resistance and energy loss while maintaining dry, wet and wintertime traction.
This compound is molded into a symmetric tread design that combines notched shoulders and intermediate ribs with independent center blocks for dry road tracking and traction. Four circumferential grooves are designed to help water flow from under the footprint to resist hydroplaning and enhance wet traction while notches and sipes increase the edges that bite into light snow. The tire sidewalls feature Bridgestone's Fuel Saver compound to further increase efficiency.
The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon on top of a polyester casing to blend ride comfort and durability.
*Specific sizes featuring Ecopia technology are identified as such on the Sizes tab, as well as on the tire's SPEC tab.

Eco-Focused All-Season Tires: Do They Deliver on the Promise?(03:22)
Tires with an emphasis on low rolling resistance for fuel efficiency are becoming available in sizes to fit a wide variety of mainstream vehicles. One of the most recent is Bridgestone's Ecopia EP422 that employs technologies aimed at reducing fuel consumption and the tire's impact on the environment. But does it perform on the road, too?
Owners report excellent comfort with a smooth, quiet ride (8-10 scores) and strong dry traction offering confident handling. Treadwear receives praise for longevity in typical all-season use, though some note variability. Wet performance is generally reliable with good hydroplaning resistance (7-9 range), while winter traction shows limitations-scores dip to 3-5 in snow/ice, suggesting cautious use in harsh conditions. Dry cornering stability and responsiveness stand out as key strengths, aligning well with grand touring expectations. While most appreciate its year-round capability, winter-focused drivers may find traction lacking compared to other seasons.

The tires handle great on wet roads. I drive long distance to take care of my mother so that was important.

Purchased these as replacements for the Micheline Eco Tires on my 2008 Toyota Prius. Thus far, they are MUCH quieter and nicer ride, and I have actually seen a bump in MPG.

...I love the soft quiet tires... when new they are super quiet and excellent ride
Note to Leaf owners. Tire pressure should be 42 to 44 or outside edges will wear. I love the soft quiet tires. I drive like a grampa and figure I will get almost 40000 miles from these. If you hot rod your electric car you better find a harder tire to run. I have noticed as they age the get a little bit louder. when new they are super quiet and excellent ride

I have 65K miles on these tires and they will easily outlast the 70K mile warranty...
I have 65K miles on these tires and they will easily outlast the 70K mile warranty. They get great gas mileage, last along time and do well on traction. They aren't high performance sport tires so if you want cornering speed try a performance tire. If you want a tire that performs very well, last a long time and get good gas mileage these please consider these tires.

...These tires still have almost 5k of tread left therefore they probably will made the 60 k mark . I do drive sensible most of the time. Tires are still very quiet and comfortable...
Purchased a used Prius V with these tires already installed so it is unknown how many miles the previous owner had driven on them. Since I have long commutes I have already driven 54000 in 2 and 1/2 years. I have driven on many types of tires and was never a fan of Bridgestone based on other reviews and tests but these tires are excellent performing tires in all situations . Of course I do not try driving in heavy snow . These tires still have almost 5k of tread left therefore they probably will made the 60 k mark . I do drive sensible most of the time . Tires are still very quiet and comfortable and I have averaged approx 48 MPG on this awesome Toyota. Good traction and been tread wear. I would recommend mend these green tires for all around driving and good gas mileage.

Purchased and installed myself Nov 2013, over 66k miles on this set as of Dec 2017, and still has 6/32 tread left, mostly highway driving and normal tired rotations every 5k-7k miles... These tires should make 75k miles before I replace them, and I will be purchasing them again.
Purchased and installed myself Nov 2013, over 66k miles on this set as of Dec 2017, and still has 6/32 tread left, mostly highway driving and normal tired rotations every 5k-7k miles. Has provided a comfortable ride quality, and acceptable performance. Average fuel economy is 23-25 mpg with the highest of 27 mpg on a long trip. Previous tires were far more harsh in road feel and noise, with a lower fuel economy on average of 0.25-0.50 mpg less. These tires should make 75k miles before I replace them, and I will be purchasing them again.

Winter traction disappoints with numerous scores between 0-5. Customers cite slippery conditions, getting stuck, and lack of snow traction, making it unreliable in winter despite being all-season.

...The Ecopia tires perform poorly in wet and snow conditions, several instances of hydroplaning before being fully worn...
After 3yrs and 37900 miles, they are all worn out down to the wear indicators. Treadwear was mediocre, expecting more from tires on a car. The Ecopia tires perform poorly in wet and snow conditions, several instances of hydroplaning before being fully worn. Replacement tires will be a different tire with better traction ratings.

...Absolutely terrible on snow and ice... These tires will be replaced so my wife or I do not wind up off the road when it snows. Worst tire on snow and ice we have ever had.
OEM tire came on our 2017 Toyota Rav 4 Hybrid. Tires are fine on dry road. Absolutely terrible on snow and ice. We live in North Eastern Ohio . We receive lots of lake effect snow. These tires will be replaced so my wife or I do not wind up off the road when it snows. Worst tire on snow and ice we have ever had.

...Wet traction is bad, ride isn't much better, cornering is bad, I really have nothing good to say about these skins at all!
O.E. on my new RX350L and at 500 miles I'm considering replacing these tires. Only owned one other set of Bridestones in fifty years of driving, those were a replacement set on my Dodge Ram, they weren't bad, just barely got 30,000 miles out of them. These Ecopia tires that came on my new Lexus are pure garbage. Wet traction is bad, ride isn't much better, cornering is bad, I really have nothing good to say about these skins at all !
