The Quatrac is Vredestein's Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of coupes, sedans and station wagons looking for good dry and wet performance combined with confident light snow traction. The Quatrac is an all-weather tire meeting industry severe snow service requirements to qualify for the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol alongside its all-season performance.
The Quatrac features an all-season tread compound molded into a distinctive, directional, v-shaped pattern. Larger outboard blocks increase dry road cornering along with a connected center element helping maintain handling and steering response. The resulting large, open grooves effectively evacuate standing water for increased hydroplaning resistance and combine with two types of sipes for confident control in wet conditions. High-density siping and numerous off-angle blocks create the biting edges needed to provide light snow traction for stability in wintry weather conditions.
Internal construction of the Quatrac features twin steel belts for strength and durability, along with a single ply casing and reinforcement for comfort and high-speed stability.
Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

...They've been solid, comfortable and handled very well on dry pavement and in the rain...
While I have yet to experience truly wretched winter weather with these tires, they have so far performed up to my expectations. They've been solid, comfortable and handled very well on dry pavement and in the rain, and have provided excellent traction and handling on snow.

These set of Vredestein Wintrac Pro's grip through water easily, haven't tested in snow yet. Purchased and installed in Reno, NV, drove across country to Virginia, very quiet and comfortable ride. Tested in a recent rain storm and the tires maintained an excellent grip. Had one issue on I-64 at 60 mph, went through a deep puddle on a left turn and the left front tire lost grip for a very brief moment but didn't lose control. I might be able to test the snow capabilities next week in New York. Dry stability is excellent, very dependable cornering with no loss of traction at moderate speeds.

...For wet performance 45 degrees and below I really experienced no noticeable difference in performance, except possibly with braking or doing a fast start (just a tad more slippage). Wet cornering was great...
I took a chance and purchased these based on a lot of test data at Tirerack and other sites, and also because it's harder to find performance winter tires for my tire size. For example, Michellin Pilot Alpin or Goodyear winter performance tires weren't available in my size. I switched to these from Michellin Pilot Sport AS/3+ all season tires for winter driving as I go to the ski resorts often when there are snow storms, and many of the lots aren't plowed or can get pretty hairy especially on a heavy snow day. My first impression of these was how quiet they were compared to the Pilot Sports. It was an amazing and dramatic difference in road noise likely because of the softer rubber and sipes. The tires handle very well on dry pavement, cornering especially, and dry braking. For wet performance 45 degrees and below I really experienced no noticeable difference in performance, except possibly with braking or doing a fast start (just a tad more slippage). Wet cornering was great. Driving in slush/ice the tire did excellent, although thick slush proved challenging although probably would for any car. Where the tire really shines is snow and ice, where I had outstanding grip, cornering, and ability to stop/start without spinning out. Yes, there is some sacrifice for wet handling above 45 degrees, but in the winter those days are more rare and worth the sacrifice for having the grip in the mountain passes. For being a winter tire, it does exceedingly well on dry/wet pavement, and is very quiet. The two drawbacks I'd say are a decrease in handling feedback (softer rubber/sipes), and rolling resistance. If you live in a milder climate where you travel to snowy areas often this is a perfect tire that doesn't sacrifice performance.

Winter traction receives strong praise, with most customers scoring 9s and 10s for snowy conditions. While ice performance shows mostly 7-8s, a few lower ratings highlight occasional challenges on ice-still delivering reliable all-season capability.

...Roads were covered (probably about 2-3") when I went out in the morning for my commute and I couldn't believe how well these stuck to the ground. Driving carefully I never noticed any slipping at all. None. It was as if there was no snow on the ground at all...
Had very little information on these tires before purchasing them this fall to be prepared for winter. Had them on for about 10 days before any snow and first noticed that stoping distances were much longer than my regular tires—but that's to be expected. Surprised that they were not much nosier than my regular tires too. Then we got the 10" of snow last week so I could really try them out. Amazing traction. Roads were covered (probably about 2-3") when I went out in the morning for my commute and I couldn't believe how well these stuck to the ground. Driving carefully I never noticed any slipping at all. None. It was as if there was no snow on the ground at all. Took them to a totally empty mall parking lot to test them out a bit more aggressively and still was amazed. Saved a bunch of $$ from the usual brands that you see/hear so much about for winter tires. I'd buy these again without question.

I have a rear wheel drive BMW M240i with a limited slip differential. I bought these winter tires more for general winter safety then planning to drive this car in the snow. That being said, I'm rather impressed with the combo. I drove in a pretty nasty snow storm in about 20 degree temperatures going up and down steep hills. There was packed snow, thick brown slush, some ice, and thick heavy snow in my driveway. I did have the ABS kick on going down a steep hill covered in slush (and maybe ice) but I never lost control. I was impressed considering that thick brown slush is about as bad as mud to drive in. I wasn't able to back up my inclined 100-foot driveway covered in 3" of snow (I got stuck about 50 feet up), but I was able to make it pulling forward. All things considered, I never felt unsafe and exceeded far what I expected a RWD performance car to handle. Winter conditions aside, I've been very happy with the day-to-day performance of these tires. If you didn't tell me these are a winter tire, I'd guess they were all season. They don't start to feel squirmy if you have an occasional 60 degree day. Ride quality is great. Noise is good for a winter tire, but it can have a tad bit of tread growl at 60 MPH or so. MPG has remained about the same as my Pirelli summer tires. I'm also impressed with the dry traction. I expected these tires to struggle to put down the nearly 400 HP my BMW make, but to my surprise they do an admiral job with no real wheel spin. They feel good at high speeds as well. I will update as I get more miles on the tires. I'd recommend these tires so far, unless you face extreme winter conditions most of the time.

...They have been very good in fresh snow as well as very good in hard packed/icy roads...
I’m very pleased with these tires. They have been very good in fresh snow as well as hard packed/ icy roads. They are excellent on wet roads including slush, they move a lot of water from under the tires and provide a nice stable ride even in standing water. They are also very quiet on all road surfaces that I have been on, from new pavement to rough chip seal coated roads they don’t produce any offensive noise. They are at least as quiet as my summer tires. I am also very pleased with how they perform on dry roads. I don’t notice any squirm on turn in and they provide good feedback from the road. I don’t anticipate that they will wear out soon, but I would definitely purchase another set when the time comes. I purchased these mounted and balanced on a set of aluminum wheels from Tire Rack and I am very pleased with how professionally they were mounted and how quickly they were shipped as well as getting all of the mounting hardware included with the shipment. The cost of the wheels will pay for themselves after roughly 4 years since I don’t have to go to a shop to have them mounted and balanced every winter and spring and I can swap them myself in the garage.

These are some very solid tires. I was concerned about the rounded shoulders at first, but they definitely helped with ride comfort and dry traction, though I do have a small loss in steering feel compared to my last set of all-seasons. Almost immediately after we put these on we went up north and into the snow, and even on our sedan we were able to plow through 4 inches of slush and snow with confidence. After dark, when the slush froze, I was amazed how much traction was available. Highly recommended!

...I can definitely get them to break loose more easily in the dry compared to my all-seasons, but I fully expected that...
Having recently moved to a snowy region, I quickly found out that I would need dedicated winter/snow tires. After some research (and a not-so-fun experience with all-seasons in slush), I decided to give the Wintrac Pros a shot. Not long after throwing them on, we got more rainy/snowy weather. I was honestly shocked at how much of a difference these tires made in those conditions. They made almost made it feel like the rain and snow weren't there. Lots of confidence during normal driving, and I was able to tackle my work commute on snowy days with no issue. I was a little worried how they'd do on a 485hp RWD car, but they were great. Never once broke traction in the wet. I can definitely get them to break loose more easily in the dry compared to my all-seasons, but I fully expected that. Otherwise these are a great tire and will definitely be my first choice for future vehicles.

This is truly a magic tire. Great handling, traction and braking in dry, wet and snow. (I have not driven them in ice yet.) They are also quiet and I have not noted any reduction in efficiency. I've had a lot of great winter tires, but by and large they are not so good in the wet; they are loud and inefficient. These are the first winter tires I've ever had that can do so many things so well. I've had them in fresh snow, deep snow, slushy snow, plowed snow. I've had them on wet roads a lot and dry roads too. I really would like to point out a weakness, but I haven't found any.

...But what they do provide is a very safe, stable, and comfortable ride during the winter months...
Highly recommend! Excellent winter tire and will definitely be a repeat customer of this model, as well as the Vredestein brand. I do about 50 miles round trip on the highway each day M-F.
Let's be clear, these aren't going to turn your sports sedan into a Jeep in the snow. But what they do provide is a very safe, stable, and comfortable ride during the winter months. Allowed me to continue to drive just as confidently as I would on a set of summer tires in the cold and snowy winter months. I do mostly highway driving (so rarely driving on un-treated roads here), but these did get me home safely through about 3 winter storms this year when the roads were not treated or plowed with about 4-5" of snow on them.
Previously I've had Pirelli Sottozero tires on other vehicles, and the Wintrac Pros blow those out of the water when it comes to handling once the temperature drops. In all honesty, they handle better than the stock summer Conti run-flats that I just re-mounted. I will probably be replacing those with Vredestein's Ultrac Vorti in the near future.

...Cold weather traction (wet and dry) is excellent and much better than the OEM Bridgestone all-seasons. My stopping distances are very good...
Purchased for use in Michigan winters with 2020 VW GTI. Lately, our winters have seen much more cold and wet than snow, so this tire is perfect. Cold weather traction (wet and dry) is excellent and much better than the OEM Bridgestone all-seasons. My stopping distances are very good. The only thing that's not great is deep snow traction, mostly because I bought pretty wide (45-series) tires and this is a low-clearance car. I'd say for most winter driving, this is an excellent performance tire at much lower cost than Blizzaks.

...Tire is also pretty comfortable and not terribly loud on the highway which is a plus!
So far, so good. This seems to be a very capable snow/ ice tire. Options were limited for the size of tire on our Range Rover Sport Autobiography. The all season were far from ready for the task of winter driving, the Vredestein’s have made it so that I am confident that we can go anywhere, any day, for the rest of the season. Wear is a big question with any snow and ice tire, this one will be no different as you can measure a change in tread depth with barely 1000 miles on them. Tire is also pretty comfortable and not terribly loud on the highway which is a plus!

I found these tires to be very grippy with dry and wet pavement performance very similar to the OEM Dunlop Sport Maxx RTs. The tires were installed 06 Dec 21 and were removed 15 Mar 22 for 3,034 miles, mostly on dry or wet pavement. The tread lost was 2.5/32" on the rear tires and 3/32" on the front tires (out of 10/32" when new), so figure around 9000 miles (3 winters) before requiring replacement. Great traction on snow, though we didn't get all that much in the Pittsburgh, PA area last winter. Great performing tires that I will definitely get again the next time...

...The treadwear has been about what I'd have expected given my driving style...
Owned another set of tires by Vredestein and decided to give their winter offering a shot. I've been pretty happy with them as far as a winter tire is concerned. They're very quiet tires as far as road noise goes. The treadwear has been about what I'd have expected given my driving style.
In most light snow, I've had no problems letting the car's ESC programs point it in the right direction. Being lowered, I can't fairly comment on deep snow traction, but I've managed to carefully navigate areas of deep snow reasonably well.
I'll likely continue to use these tires until the tread depth requires replacement; depending on what's out there when the time comes, I may well replace this set with another.
