Customers Say

Ratings highlight excellence in dry traction, with scores often reaching 9-10 for confident grip and responsive handling in summer conditions. Wet traction earns consistent praise (8-10), with strong hydroplaning resistance and reliable wet-road stability. Comfort scores (7-10) reflect a refined, quiet ride, though a few note slightly firmer feedback at higher speeds. Treadwear ratings (7-10) suggest durable performance for a summer tire, with many users reporting minimal wear even after extended use. As a max performance summer tire, it excels in its intended categories, balancing sharp dynamics with everyday usability, making it a standout choice for drivers prioritizing dry and wet traction without sacrificing comfort.

Great in the rain...

Great in the South Florida rain. Easily as good as the Pilot Sport while being much quieter and far less $.

...Wet traction is by far better than any all season tire I have ever used. I was truly shocked how good these are in the rain (when warm of course)...

I love these tires. For the money, they are hard to beat. Just like any summer tire, the hotter it gets, the better it performs.

They are about 90 percent as good as the PS4S but are a much better value.

Dry traction is super good, could be a tad improved when accelerating and pushing it to the limits around the corners.

Wet traction is by far better than any all season tire I have ever used. I was truly shocked how good these are in the rain (when warm of course).

Noise and comfort are surprisingly good for a summer tire. Not too stiff at all.

The treadwear is about as advertised. These have worn pretty quick, just like pretty much any summer tire. But like with any tire to an extent. More grip=less tread life.

I would recommend these to anyone looking for a summer tire designed for daily and spirited driving on the street for a good price.

...Grip in dry and wet is really strong in comparison to the old All-Season Michelins...

I’m traditionally a Michelin customer, but thought I’d try something different for my GTI. I most recently had a set of Michelin Pilot Sport AS 3+ on the car, and these Vredesteins are much, much quieter with a similar ride quality. Grip in dry and wet is really strong in comparison to the old All-Season Michelins. Steering feel could be a bit better for a Summer tire, and sidewalls do seem a bit soft for the category too based on slight damage I already have from a pothole.

...Significantly more comfortable than the OEM Pirelli Pzero HN but it still has excellent grip and road feel...

These Vredestein Ultrac Pro tires are fantastic! I would rate them as 90% of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S for 50% of the price. Significantly more comfortable than the OEM Pirelli Pzero HN but it still has excellent grip and road feel. They are also much quieter. I've only put about 2000 miles on these so far but as of right now, these tires are just awesome. I am seriously considering getting these for my 2017 Volvo V60 Polestar as well (currently using PS4S). Highly recommended!

...When you start to turn, or if you are turning softly, you don't feel much, but as soon as you start to hit it hard, these rail right up, giving you that nice locked-in progressive response feeling that you would get from the Michelins. So I find I do need to push hard if I want to really crack a smile, which I'm happy to do. I think ultimate grip is very close to the Michelins; full throttle from stop turning through an intersection I feel a little bit of lost grip, but driving on a winding canyon road I don't...

Great! Had Michelin PS4S on previous car and thought they were ideal, but was looking for more affordable option. In short, what others have said is true - 90% as good for 60% of the price. The biggest difference is when/where you feel the input. These have a bit of a delay by comparison. When you start to turn, or if you are turning softly, you don't feel much, but as soon as you start to hit it hard, these rail right up, giving you that nice locked-in progressive response feeling that you would get from the Michelins. So I find I do need to push hard if I want to really crack a smile, which I'm happy to do. I think ultimate grip is very close to the Michelins; full throttle from stop turning through an intersection I feel a little bit of lost grip, but driving on a winding canyon road I don't. There is actually upside over the Michelins if you are looking for increased comfort.

To clarify, I care much more for performance, and if money was no object, I would buy the Michelins, as I want maximum road feel over comfort. But I'm very satisfied with the price to performance ratio on these.

Jury is still out on treadwear. If it ends up being comparable to the Michelins, I will for sure buy again.

Lastly, I will note that I am very picky about this stuff. I stressed this decision a lot and was slow to trust the few reviews that were available, since this was a newly released tire. Believe me when I say, I push corners harder than anyone you may have met, and this tires stand up to the task. They will not take the joy out of your car, as I have experienced with other tires (Exhibit A: Continental DWS). Go ahead and send er mate!

Much more quiet and comfortable in comparison to the Michelin PS but with comfort a little steering response declines, not a big deal as the tires are used on a daily driver, I am fine with that. Rough choppy pavement has been slightly muted with this tire's softer ride. Acceleration response and braking is just as good as the OEM Michelin's. I don't track this car and have no opinions on that. If you are looking for an inexpensive summer tire for your daily and don't want to spend Michelin $$? Your answer is here.

...I found them to be better in terms of road noise and comfort (also what the Euro reviewers mention)...

Great tire that’s comparable to a PS4s and Extreme Contact Sport. Incredible value given, at the time of my purchase, it was cheaper than Indy 500s with the rebate and significantly cheaper than PS4s and Extreme Contact Sports. I’ve run them on my Stage 1 (high torque) 2016 GTI and they’ve been nothing short of great.

I’ve run the following tires on my car from new until they were bald (20k+ miles).
1. Michelin PS4s
2. Continental Extreme Contact Sport
3. Pirelli P Zero
4. Firestone Indy 500s

I drive aggressively on NorCal backroads and already put 12k+ miles on these tires. My experience mirrors the Euro Journalists / Tire Reviewers. They’re VERY similar to the class leaders (PS4s & Extreme Contact Sports) in terms of dry and wet grip. I think you’d be hard pressed to feel a significant different between these and the Michelins and Contis. I found them to be better in terms of road noise and comfort (also what the Euro reviewers mention).

I’m a fan for life and will recommend these to any car enthusiasts.

...These tires are exceptionally quiet...

So far, a great tire. Replaced Michelin Pilot 4S, which I really liked. These tires are exceptionally quiet. I only drive in dry conditions, and thus far they have been very good. Excellent cornering, no tramlining or other adverse effects. Cost about 605 of the Michelin, so I am happy. No idea of treat wear, though rating is same as Michelin.

...Due to how Vredstien does their treadware rating this tire should be around 30k in longevity. We will see. If its better than 20k I will be stoked.

I have gone from the OEM Bridgestone potenza sport S005 to the Vredstien Ultrac pro’s.
Reasons for the switch from the S005 is due to rubber breakdown on the edges of tread and started getting damage from road debris more consistently around the 10k mark. This is just without any track driving, and most of the time I drive like and grandpa when I transport my kids in the car.

The Ultrac Pros are great I would recommend it.
I do wish I had stayed in the UHP category rather the Max performance, I didn’t realize how much stiffer the tire would be. But compared to the Other max performance tires, this one is the most compliant over bumps.

CA just had some rain so I tested these tires with some twisty back roads, loose asphalt (new pavement that has not been swept yet), and hwy.
Traction is fantastic, not a single slip of the wheel in rain or dry. Makes me have more confidence in breaking in a wet decent. There is more road noise due to it being a stiffer tire than the UHP S005’s, but oddly enough my wife said the car was quieter and my kids fall asleep in the car in 5 mins. Maybe I’m just sensitive to the frequency of the sound.

This Tire has a hefty wheel protector bead, it sticks out about 0.5 cm. And it’s not noticeable unless looking at it from a birds eye view. From there is it a perelli pzero profile of the side wall. I know it matters some people how they look. I did rub up against a curb recently and it had some momentum in the contact and the rim protector saved my wheel.

Due to how Vredstien does their treadware rating this tire should be around 30k in longevity. We will see. If its better than 20k I will be stoked.

...Beautiful sidewall design (a Vredestein norm by now), good tread pattern with deep new tread. Will update as these wear with periodic rotations...

Great value proposition from Vredestein /Apollo as usual. Previously used Quatrac Pros and Hypertracs on the same and other cars... so decided fo try this new model tire now living year-round in South Florida.

Quiet ride, especially for a dedicated summer compound. Dry and wet grip for days, great for equatorial tropical and sub tropical climates. Good ply count given XL load rating and sidewall wheel interface... firm confident handling of bumps, road imperfections. Having ~4" of sidewall is key here so ymmv depending on needed/desired tire size spec.

Beautiful sidewall design (a Vredestein norm by now), good tread pattern with deep new tread. Will update as these wear with periodic rotations.

Pro-tip given few US/NA reviews so far - check out more on European tire sites and car enthusiast fora. The Ultrac Pro was available there earlier and made it onto many cars this past Spring.
