The ADVAN Sport V105 is Yokohama's Max Performance Summer tire
developed for the drivers of high-powered sports cars, sporty coupes and
performance sedans. Based on technology fostered through participation
in motorsports and development at the Nurburgring Circuit in Germany
(one of the world's most grueling race/test tracks), the ADVAN Sport
V105 combines an increase in agile handling with a more comfortable ride
when compared to its predecessor by featuring precision-tuned materials
and structures. Like all summer tires, the ADVAN Sport V105 is not
intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on
ice.
ADVAN Sport V105 tires mold a Microsilica and Orange Oil
enhanced tread compound that helps the tread rubber remain pliable to
improve tire adhesion and grip. The compound is molded into an
asymmetrical tread design in which wide outboard shoulder blocks and
circumferential ribs work together to promote dry traction and handling.
Variable width circumferential grooves and asymmetric lateral notches
help reduce noise and promote water flow through the footprint to resist
hydroplaning.
The tire's internal structure features two rigid
steel belts reinforced by spirally wound overlapping nylon across the
tread with three layers covering the belt edges in the shoulders to
combine high-speed durability and responsive handling. Yokohama's new
motorsports-inspired Matrix Body Ply Structure technology features a
rayon body ply that is angled in the sidewalls to maintain lateral
rigidity while reducing tire weight to deliver more agile handling and a
more comfortable ride.

Latest vs. Greatest Max Performance Summer Tires (04:59)
Max Performance tires deliver an unsurpassed blend of dry/wet traction and handling for the street via high-tech materials and advanced manufacturing. They aren't hampered by the inherent compromises of an all-season tire. And unlike Extreme Performance tires, they have good road manners.
How do the newest compare to the top tires in the category?
Ratings highlight excellence in dry traction, with consistent 9-10 scores for sharp handling and confident cornering. Wet performance earns strong praise, with most scores in the 8-10 range for reliable grip and hydroplaning resistance. Comfort receives positive feedback for a smooth, quiet ride, though a few note slightly firmer feel at lower speeds. Treadwear shows mixed patterns-many report impressive longevity for a max performance summer tire, while others mention rapid wear under aggressive driving. Overall, customers emphasize this tire’s balanced capabilities in its intended categories, particularly its responsive dry-road dynamics and dependable wet-weather behavior.

The wet traction of these tires is completely bonkers. I've had a lot of tires, even Continentals (which are designed as wet/snow tires), and these Yokos blow them away. Even in the pouring rain it feels like I'm driving on a dry road.
The wet traction of these tires is completely bonkers. I've had a lot of tires, even Continentals (which are designed as wet/snow tires), and these Yokos blow them away. Even in the pouring rain it feels like I'm driving on a dry road. I barely feel puddles, and will intentionally drive through some (not while on the highway) just to laugh at how I don't even feel a drag as the tires plow right through it. One thing that alarmed me at first was when I heard a weird rattle while driving on the highway in the rain. As I listened closer, it turns out that the tires were displacing so much water that it sounded like gravel getting thrown up into the underside of the wheel well. It was hard to tell because it would happen when driving over water that was streaming off the road, but while those normally cause a slight drag while at highway speeds, I couldn't feel them at all. I haven't tested stopping from higher speeds in the wet, but I did have to stop suddenly from about 15, and they gripped instantly with no slip. What's more, unlike the Continentals, the Yokos don't sacrifice any dry traction to get that kind of wet performance. I haven't found their dry limits yet, and I don't think I want to.
As for the road noise, they were initially very loud. Annoyingly so. But that has virtually disappeared as the tires started to get broken in.

This is my third set of Yoko Avids on my 2012 Audi A6; it's an excellent all-around tire. Adequate in the snow, good in rain, and excellent for noise, ride comfort, wear, and cornering.

...The car handles very well with these tires and has a very good feel to the steering. They are in all regards superior to the 741's that came on the vehicle when new...
After reading many reviews I picked these tires based on handling which was important to me. Also, wet traction was a very high priority as our previous Firestone's were very poor in this regard. On a wet road it was very common for the Firestone 741's to lose traction on take off. I have never been able to make these Yokohama tires slip on a wet road take off no matter how hard I have tried. The car handles very well with these tires and has a very good feel to the steering. They are in all regards superior to the 741's that came on the vehicle when new. Some have complained of excessive noise from these tires. I have not experienced this at all. Of course these are on a Honda Fit which is not a super quiet car to begin with so its not an issue for me at all. My priories were wet traction and general handling and this tire shines in both. I can not speak for snow performance yet but considering their excellent performance on wet roads I would expect them to do fine on the few light snows we get in our area. Considering handling, traction and "feel" my little Fit drives like a sports car with these tires. Over all I am very well pleased with the tires and will likely put them on my Acura RDX when it needs new tires.

...My average speed when putting these tires to the test can do an almost 90* turn at 65mph and keep a good balance at speeds over 120mph. I could easily recommend these tires for track use or daily driving...
Love these tires, I live in an area that has every level of weather. Rain, sleet, snow, dirt, street, sandy, dry, and muddy, as well as roads including winding, straight, Razorbacks, low speed, high speed and freeway driving. These tires even on a light weight 2300lb moderately modified vehicle stick to the ground. My average speed when putting these tires to the test can do an almost 90* turn at 65mph and keep a good balance at speeds over 120mph. I could easily recommend these tires for track use or daily driving. Hydroplaning only occurred at speeds over 60mph on water 1 inch or deeper ( keep in mind my car is 2300lb ) and lost traction on solid ice at speeds over 50mph around corners. So far I will continue to test these tires and purchase them until I find a better tire. I know reviews help people on there decisions so this is for you. Thank you for reading.

Very comfortable and quiet with descent performance in the dry, wet and cold. Great touring tires on the highway. These are only used as my non winter "summer" tires, so no experience in extreme winter weather. Treadwear looks good so far (4k miles) and will likely purchase again.

...But they are also very good in the dry, with a very comfortable ride, and only moderate noise, primarily at highway speeds, but as good or better than most at lower speeds - very quiet (which is usually typical for a new set of tires anyway.)...
My quest to find a great wet weather all-season tire is done! These are fantastic in the wet, and that was my primary consideration. But they are also very good in the dry, with a very comfortable ride, and only moderate noise, primarily at highway speeds, but as good or better than most at lower speeds - very quiet (which is usually typical for a new set of tires anyway.) So far, I really like these tires, the price is very reasonable for this level of quality, they were delivered the next day, and a rebate was a nice bonus. But mainly, I love the wet traction and performance in the rain! Best I've ever found in an all-season tire. I would definitely buy again.

...I've driven apprx 425K on 4 sets including 120K with the ones on my car now... They use to say 90k treadwear. I don't see it there anymore but if with the ones on my car now having 120k and probably 10K more miles left to go on them but im not waiting to drive on balogna skins or rims
All around great tires that i highly reccomend. I've driven apprx 425K on 4 sets including 120K with the ones on my car now. Nothing has ever made me question anything about them. I'm ordering another 4 right now. Driving habits? I dont drive slow. I drive to be early or on time. nights out, weekends, road trip etc. From the start to the stop and everything in between, cornering, turning and changing lanes I'm really happy. They use to say 90k treadwear. I don't see it there anymore but if with the ones on my car now having 120k and probably 10K more miles left to go on them but im not waiting to drive on balogna skins or rims

...The treadwear is incredible... Putting them on at 30k i right now have 149k on them. They still have some life but im buying them now again because i dont want to push it more then the insane amount i have on them now.
A fantastic tire all around. The treadwear is incredible. I had them on my last car but put new ones anyway because i gave my daughter my car. For my car. when the garbage tires the dealership gives you were useless after 30k , I bought them for my car a Camry SE . Putting them on at the 30k i right now have 149k on them. They still have some life but im buying them now again because i dont want to push it more then the insane amount i have on them now. Of course I feel a differance now but for at least 80k they ride as smooth as can be, extremly quiet and handle all very good. i wouldnt have put them on my daughters car if i didnt fully trust them. Highly recommend them.

...I rotate every 5K - 7K and they are wearing very well. Still plenty of good tread left...
Bought these for my work car (Ford Fusion). At the time I had a highway/rural commute of almost 100 miles a day. I absolutely love these tires. One complaint I had with my previous set was hydroplaning. I live in an area that has lots of stone truck traffic that causes "Troughs" in the highway where rain water puddles. These tires handle it with no problems. They also handle light to moderate snow as well as ice very well. Very quiet and nice riding. I rotate every 5K - 7K and they are wearing very well. Still plenty of good tread left. My wife is wanting new tires for her 2018 Ford Explorer and I'm considering a set for it.
