The Discoverer A/T3LT is Cooper's On-Road All-Terrain tire designed for the drivers of pickup trucks, work vehicles and full-size SUVs who need a tire that provides the rugged durability required to keep up with their active lifestyles. Engineered to tackle dirt, gravel, mud and the urban jungle, the Discoverer A/T3LT combines off-road prowess with agreeable on-road comfort and year-round traction, including light snow traction that meets the tire industry's severe snow service rating requirements and earns the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
Durable-Tread Technology combines a shred-resistant silica compound with the Discoverer A/T3LT 's next-generation all-terrain tread pattern. Cooper's Even Wear Arc Technology optimizes the shape of the footprint for balanced pressure at the contact patch, improving handling and promoting even treadwear. The tread pattern is designed to aid dry traction, while Whisper Grooves between the outboard tread blocks help reduce noise throughout the tire's life. Stone ejector ledges help prevent punctures due to stone drilling, and the alternating scoop and cleat lugs in the shoulder are designed to provide grip on rock, in thick mud or loose soil. Deep, circumferential channels and wide, lateral notches improve hydroplaning resistance, while multiple zigzag sipes in the independent tread blocks create the biting edges needed for traction in slippery conditions. Snow Groove Technology uses saw-tooth block edges to trap snow in the tread for effective snow-to-snow traction.
The internal construction of the Discoverer A/T3LT consists of a robust, two-ply polyester casing. A single-ply, nylon reinforcement above two high-strength steel belts further increases durability and handling response, along with providing high-speed stability.
Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

Wet traction earns consistent 7-10 ratings, showing reliable handling in muddy and rainy conditions. Winter traction shines in deep snow (8-10 scores) but reveals mixed ice performance, with some ratings dipping to 3-5. Treadwear receives solid 7-10 marks, noted for durability in aggressive off-road use. Comfort scores 7-9, with most users accepting moderate noise and vibration as trade-offs for off-road capability. Ideal for maximum traction seekers prioritizing rock-crawling and mud performance over refined on-road manners.

...Driven through some heavy rains on the highway and no signs of hydroplaning through puddles or wet surfaces...
I was fortunate enough to receive these tires directly from Yokohama for a subjective review and here it is after 12,000+ miles of various driving. (Highway+Trailer/Dirt/City) My first impression after having the tires mounted and balances was how quiet they are for the aggressive M/T tread and the smoothness on pavement. Took a few turns and am impressed at the traction they provide on pavement. Driven through some heavy rains on the highway and no signs of hydroplaning through puddles or wet surfaces. These tires are growing on me everyday as the truck is my daily work horse and farm truck. At the farm in mud or dry it is very capable and provides the traction you need when having a 1500+ pound load of persimmons to deliver 100 miles away. Off-Road in the mountains through various terrain like carved out rock face roads with chunky rocks I deflate the tires down to 40 psi since I do not run these on bead-locks. Just the regular 20" Ford Platinum SD wheels. Good grip and traction on rocks, dirt and mud on the way to my favorite camping spot 6400'+ above sea level in the Sierras. During the winter season the same road with 4"/6" of fresh snow gave me much better traction then the stock Super Duty A/T tires which surprised me also. These do better! I also tow my 20' enclosed trailer and no flinching from these rubbers, they do just fine in all conditions, I may just get another set to replace the rears I wore out. These are my 4th set of tires at almost 90,000 miles and can say they are up to par on the road or rough country, haven't thrown anything at these Yokohama GeoLandar M/T 003 couldn't handle.

...These tires paired with my lifted suspension provide excellent confidence, on and off-road, in rain or shine...
Superb overall tire - grippy, handles well in dry and wet/snow conditions, handles amazing on the highway, around corners, etc. These tires paired with my lifted suspension provide excellent confidence, on and off-road, rain or shine. Barely show signs of wear after 15K. Highly recommend and will most likely purchase these tires again.

...Dry, Wet, Snow, Mud, Rock - we experienced excellent traction...
These Yoke's are a great tire on-road and off-road. These need to be rotated consistently to keep road noise down, as does any aggressive tread tire. I would recommend not letting them go past 5k miles. Dry, Wet, Snow, Mud, Rock - we experienced excellent traction. Some slight chunking in sharp Colorado rocks when aired down to about 12 PSI, but no punctures. When this set wears out, we're definitely putting another set on, there's really nothing to complain about in terms of performance and you get pretty decent bang for the buck by today's standards (sigh) as well.

...Used them this winter in 6-8in deep snow and they did really well...
So far these tires have been great. Surprisingly good traction on all surfaces except ice….but what tire is good on ice??? Much quieter than expected, but you know they are there. Anything off-road I have thrown at it, hasn’t phased them a bit(they can cover the Jeep in mud real quick). Used them this winter in 6-8in deep snow and they did really well. Overall for a mud tire, they have preformed on the hwy pretty good. I will say they don’t love pooled water, but traction on just wet roads has been fine. Gas mileage on my 2016 JK with these tires has been 14-15m/gallon. I knew when I bought them what I was getting…..I would buy them again.

...best tire I've ever had for snow driving. I pulled a double trailer 18 wheeler up 5% grade in 6 to 8 inches of snow using my 1992 Explorer and these tires...
Overall very well pleased with this set of tires. By far the best tire I’ve ever had for snow driving. I pulled a double trailer 18 wheeler up 5% grade in 6 to 8 inches of snow using my 1992 Explorer and these tires. There is a video of it on YouTube as well. I can’t recommend these tires enough. They also not only outperformed BF Goodrich A/T KO2’s as far as traction goes, but I also have nearly 50,000 miles on this set of tires and still counting. In my experience that’s unheard of from a mud terrain tire, and they have far outlasted any other all terrain or mud terrain tire I’ve ever had. They are amazing at deep water and high speed, they don’t hydroplane. The only thing I was disappointed about was the lack of ice traction. It wasn’t as good as the snow traction.

...On slick icy plowed roads I had excellent steering and braking control. Way better than most any brand before.
Must be careful in muddy conditions. The aggressive tread can dig a hole very quickly resulting in being stuck badly. The tread does clear mud quickly to ensure fresh bite in mud. On slick icy plowed roads I had excellent steering and braking control. Way better than most any brand before.

...Very good off-road, no chunking at all, excellent traction in sand and rock...
Installed these on a street-legal wheeler in the desert so I can't comment on cold weather or extended highway driving. Very good off-road, no chunking at all, excellent traction in sand and rock. They run fine at 10-15psi without beadlocks.
Pavement manners are much better than you'd expect from such an aggressive M/T. They do throw rocks and have a bit of a whine but not like the old school stuff. Tread wear has been good so far.
Would highly recommend at these for the price point.

...These tires are crazy. Crazy crazy crazy traction... Emergency stopping power is great, but does make a bit of a howl. Who cares. Still stops the rig nicely...
We just started a new company and are towing a specialized workboat that weights about 3000lbs. We often go to private ponds and remote lakes with no traditional boat ramp and often have to launch from whatever shore we can find. Getting in is usually easy but getting out after the job is done has always been a challenge, needing a bobcat or winch. Not anymore. These tires are crazy. Crazy crazy crazy traction. Nice sound going down the road and look amazing. Emergency stopping power is great, but does make a bit of a howl. Who cares. Still stops the rig nicely. Forget all the pretty pretenders. These are the real deal. No difference in fuel economy either.

...extremely quiet for such an aggressive tire. Half the noise level of the Goodyear Duratracs I replaced. I can now listen to my stereo at normal volume levels...
GREAT rugged off-road tire. Heavy duty side wall, toughest I've seen. I have had quite a few sets of off-road tires and these are the best. Lugs are deep and aggressive and clean themselves well. Best of all they are extremely quiet for such an aggressive tire. Half the noise level of the Goodyear Duratracs I replaced. I can now listen to my stereo at normal volume levels. Minimal cab noise at 70 mph on pavement. I have experience with Yokohama tires and it has been positive. These tires will get you into rugged places and back. Minimal mileage so far, but my observations to date make me believe these will be an excellent long wearing tire. Perfect for where I live in Wyoming.

One of the quietest mud tire I?ve ever used, wet pavement traction comparable to good AT tire. I drive many highway miles to get to awesome off-road locations and these tires are great on and off-road.
One of the quietest mud tire I’ve ever used, wet pavement traction comparable to good AT tire. I drive many highway miles to get to awesome off-road locations and these tires are great on and off-road . I overland my truck, towing a Boreas XT off-road trailer with about 400lbs tounge weight. Highway pressure about 35psi then drop to 10-15 psi off-road. I rotate every oil change and they are wearing even. This is my daily driver .

...Treadwear is very good considering it is a mud tire...
Second set of these, both LT285/75 R16. Treadwear is very good considering it is a mud tire, road noise is actually quite tame compared to most mud tires. More hum than an all-season, but WAY more traction off pavement.

I have 64,000 miles on this set of tires so far. I have ran many different mud tires over the years from pretty much all the major brands. This has by far been my favorite set. They are lasting way better than any other tire i have ran. They easily have another 8-10k miles of life in them. If you are looking for a tire that performs well in all conditions and seems to last forever, this is your tire.
