The Destination X/T is Firestone's Off-Road All-Terrain tire developed for the drivers of ¾- and 1-ton pickup trucks, body-on-frame SUVs and Jeeps who want go-anywhere dependability and proven traction, regardless of the conditions. Designed to combine on-road civility, off-road capability and confident light snow traction, the Destination X/T is severe snow service rated and is branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
A specially formulated rubber compound is molded into the Destination X/T's aggressive, symmetric pattern. Firestone's TractionTech Package features full-depth features and interlocking sipes that maintain stiffness in the independent tread blocks for stability and longevity, in addition to providing consistent traction throughout the tire's life. Deep tread depths, a high void ratio and open shoulders help evacuate water from the contact patch to enhance hydroplaning resistance, while also delivering confident off-road traction. The aggressive off-shoulder tread design creates the biting edges needed to find any available grip in loose and varied terrain. High lateral edge density in the pattern and the interlocking lug design provide snow traction, and block wall ridges in the outboard grooves grab onto snow, further enhancing grip.
Internal construction of the Destination X/T utilizes a two-ply, polyester cord casing supporting two high-tensile steel belts. A nylon reinforcement ply aids durability and provides higher speed capability.
Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

The Destination X/T is an untested competitor in Off-Road All-Terrain, so we compared it to some of the newest and best in the category to find out how it performs in the real world.
Customer surveys indicate the Firestone Destination X/T excels in dry and wet traction, with many ratings in the 9-10 range, highlighting confident handling on rugged terrain. Winter traction receives strong praise for deep snow and slush performance, though ice traction shows more variability with some lower scores. Ride comfort and noise levels are consistently rated 7-10, described as smooth and surprisingly quiet for an off-road tire. Treadwear earns frequent 8-10 scores, with customers noting durable performance across varied conditions. While most feedback aligns with its all-terrain purpose, a few users report reduced ice traction, emphasizing its focus on dry/wet rugged use over specialized winter needs.

...The wet traction is great and treadwear is impressive...
I took a chance buying these since there were no reviews available. I liked the aggressive look and am happy I tried them. Wet traction is great and treadwear is impressive. I recommend these tires and would definitely buy them again.

...When the roads get wet from rain the tire still perform well!!! What makes this happen? The fact that most of the tread blocks have awesome sipes that go most of the way down the tread...
So this is an update to my previous review. No I did not buy the tires from Tire Rack but I did get the tires from a Firestone dealer. Now you might be wondering why i went with Firestone over BFG? Well a simple answer is I dont want to be like everyone else. Second I like the Firestone brand.
To start lets go with street performance and comfort. Being the fact that i have an LT it is going to be "stiff" compared to a P rated tire. That is to be expected. But even so the tire still rides pretty well in this size(265/70-17). On dry pavement it does just fine. I have good stability in turns. Good braking modulation. When the roads get wet from rain the tire still perform well!!! What makes this happen? The fact that most of the tread blocks have awesome sipes that go most of the way down the tread. Can I still slide in wet weather? You bet and that can happen with any tire but the Firestone holds up to it pretty well.
Snow traction? Well lets be honest, no matter what others say this tire is not a snow tire. Can it perform well in snow? I'm sure it can but not as well as a snow/winter tire. If you live in a place you barely have to deal with snow then you should be ok. Live where is snows all year round then this may bot be for you.
Now for the OffRoad Fun!!!!!! So those of you that understand that inorder to get the best performance OffRoad you need to air your tires down(depends on what your setup is to how much). Well I did so recently on a Pass in Colorado and I had to deal with Mud, Rocks, more than a dozen water crossings and Sand. To put simple lets just say the truck and tires didnt even sweat it!!!! I was a little worried but the truck and tires out performed my expectations on this!!
As for durability... Well I havents had a puncture yet and I'm hoping it never happens!!!
So would I recommend thus tire to you? If you are an avid OffRoader then absolutely!!!!! Use it as your winter tire? Not really!!
I hipe this helps others on thier decision!!!!

...For a small part I was in in 4WD but most of the way i was in in 2WD. I did have 140 lbs worth of sand in the bed so that helped a bunch but overall I was amazed on how the tires handled the snow!!...
So I am back again for some more input for a wonderful tire!!
To start off I have a combine mileage of 30,000 from my personal truck and my work van(yes I convinced my boss lol)
You will see two other reviews from me that state how I already like the tire for dry, wet and OffRoad. Now for the winter review!!
Just to start everyone must understand that this is an "All-Terrain" tire and not a "Snow" tire. Yes it is 3 peak reated but a true Snow tire will be at the top!!
So I now live in the Mountains again and for Thanksgiving I got to drive through a bit of snow for a good distance. Just on my way home the day before in my work van I was getting curious and still being cautious. In the work van it was wonderful going up hill the entire way in a 2WD van without snow chains. Yes the 5 millions tons of weight probably helped. The following day I probably went about 30 miles on slick roads that were covered in snow(about 1 inch) and probably had ice here and there. For a small part I was in 4WD but most of the way i was in 2WD. I did have 140 lbs worth of sand in the bed so that helped a bunch but overall I was amazed on how the tires handled the snow!!
Now you might be asking yourself if you should buy the Firestone Destination XT, BFG K02 or a Snow Tire huh? Well to start it all depends on what you do. If you dont go OffRoad dont waist your money on an All-Terrain. To add if you dont have too much snow to deal with a good All-Season tire will do just fine. If you deal with a lot of snow every winter then you would benefit from a Snow Tire vs an All-Terrain. As for Destination XT vs K02? Well the K02 my be more popular but I can already tell the Destination XT is far superior.
Yes it may be a long read but I hope this information really helps you out!!

This has been the best winter tire that I have ran. Comparing to Blizzak, Winterforce, and Michelin X1. The winter traction is almost too good, because this tire is constantly digging for traction, even when I am hoping for some donut action. Also after 20k can't even tell that they're worn.

I have destination A/T on my 96 bronco 40k still look new. My son has same on his ram 2500 diesel 60k 9' plow 60k plowed 18" for roughly 10 hours no problem. In the past I've had General, Bf, Goodyear and Bridgestone A/T tires. These X/T are in my opinion better than all mentioned. We had 12" of wet slop the other day and I tried the truck in 2wd no problem at all only used 4wd to pull out a Range Rover plowed in. Just goes to show snow ain't stairs. LM××O

Customers overwhelmingly rate dry traction as excellent, with most scores 9-10. High marks highlight responsive handling and reliable grip in dry conditions. A few 7-8s suggest minor variability, but performance impresses in all-terrain use.

...Traction? On road so far so good. Only broke loose once but then again I have a pickup so that will happen from time to time...
So I just came from the Bridgestone Dueler Revo 3 into the Firestone Destination XT. To say the least I should have went Firestone to begin with. Now I do understand that I havent put that many miles on it amd i have only had it for a few days but I promise I got a good experience real quick.
To start off on the street there is no noise from the tire that I can tell. The comfort on the road is pretty nice for an LT too!
Traction? On road so far so good. Only boke loose once but then again I have a pickup so that will happen from time to time.
Offroad traction? Awesome to say the least!!! I did air down from 32 psi to 18 psi and the tire did not struggle to hold traction.
Winter conditions? Well I honestly cant say since I have already past winter and these are NOT a snow tire. Maybe they will do well.... Maybe they won't... I honestly have no idea.
How is it fitting this tire in 285/70-17 on a Ranger? Not bad keeping the stock wheels with no spacers, the Old Man EMU Lift and simply moving the front crash bars forward there is little to no rubbing when the front end is compressed.
I should add that with the tire VIN code the tire is NOT made in Thailand. Tire VIN code 1VN is for Canada EH'.
All in all I can say I highly recommend this to someone who wants an offroad tire but doesnt want a BFG KO2.

This tire exceeded my expectations with regards to tread wear longevity, traction, and comfort...
This tire exceeded my expectations with regards to tread wear longevity, traction, and comfort. I have taken this vehicle in some off road situations/conditions that I probably shouldn't have. I had more issues with clearance than any tire/traction issues. I did have "E" rated tires on my half ton GMC and kept tire pressures well above vehicle manufactures recommendations and still experienced a smooth and fairly quiet ride. I would purchase these tires again and would highly recommend.

...Emergency breaking was excellent, wet or dry...
Most fantastic tire I’ve ever had. I’m able to drive in wet grass without any issues and without tearing up and trenching the lawn. Babying these tires didn’t last long. After 50,000 of speeding and hard corners my tires are about halfway used. The forward traction in ice is remarkable. I wouldn’t go as far as saying the lateral ice traction is confidence inspiring but I have yet to slip at a reasonable speed. I’m more than likely going to buy these tires again. They don’t make much noise at all and drive beautifully. Emergency breaking was excellent, wet or dry. It’s a nice feeling not being phased by ponding on the highway. No chips cracks or puncture on my truck but the work truck picked up a nail before. They do pickup little pebbles but eject them even when driving straight. I’ve noticed less and less as they age. It’s a much better tire then the General Grabber A/TX, Stock Goodyears and the old model Pirelli Scorpion ATR by far!

Most customers rate treadwear as excellent, with scores of 9-10 highlighting impressive durability in rugged off-road conditions. A few 7-8 scores suggest slightly faster wear during heavy all-terrain use, but overall performance remains strong.

This is my third set and I will definitely buy again. I’m a commercial hotshot driver. I haul heavy all the time. I have two sets of wheels and I keep them loaded with these tires. I’m getting 40 to 50,000 miles per set and that’s hauling heavy. They wear amazing. I had been a Dutrac fan forever but these destination, XTs have been way better for me.
