The P Zero Trofeo (Italian for Trophy) R is Pirelli's Streetable Track & Competition tire developed for the Chevrolet Camaro Z28. Based on over 100 years of Pirelli racing experience, the P Zero Trofeo R is designed as a track-focused, dual-purpose tire that provides the ability to win trophies on-track, as well as be driven on the road to and from the track. P Zero Trofeo R tires are not intended to be driven at high speeds in wet conditions where there is the risk of hydroplaning in standing water, nor in near- or below freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

P Zero Trofeo R tires employ brand new HAOF (highly aromatic oil free) compounds and a redesigned asymmetric tread pattern. The outboard area ensures the required rigidity to cope with the stresses during cornering, typical of racetrack driving. The solid shoulder - similar to a slick but more rigid - maximize lateral grip when cornering at very high speed and quickly changing trajectory on the track. This special mix of shape/functionality has enabled the achievement of very consistent performance. The inboard area's wide central ribs ensure precise trajectories and control the stress associated with accelerating and braking on the track. The transversal grooves with special pattern provide constant traction and assist braking. The wide circumferential grooves enable water drainage to promote traction in damp conditions. Its internal structure features an advanced belt design and undertread materials to optimize footprint pressure and increase stability while restricting tire growth at high speed from centrifugal forces. Bead geometry and materials improve fit between the tire and rim to increase bead and sidewall stability.

Beginning with a molded tread depth of 6/32", P Zero Trofeo R tires will not require shaving for track use, however they will benefit from heat cycling before competition to enhance wear and promote more consistent performance.

Warning: P Zero Trofeo R radials meet DOT requirements, however they are not recommended for driving in wet conditions where standing water is present and there is the risk of hydroplaning; drivers should drive cautiously at reduced speeds if they encounter these conditions. This is especially true of shaved or worn tires. And like other Streetable Track & Competition tires, these tires are not intended to be stored, serviced nor driven in near- or below freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Customers Say

User feedback reveals the Firestone Firehawk GT delivers excellent dry traction (9-10 ratings dominate) and strong wet performance, with many praising its hydroplaning resistance. Comfort receives mixed reactions-some highlight a smooth ride, but frequent low noise scores (0-3) and harshness complaints suggest refinement issues. Treadwear ratings show inconsistency, with numerous reports of rapid wear (scores 0-5 common) despite some high marks. While its all-season capabilities meet expectations for dry and wet handling, noise and tread life concerns may deter drivers prioritizing comfort or long-term value. Performance-focused users rate it highly for responsive steering and confident cornering.

First off anyone purchasing this tire needs to know that performance tires are not made for comfort. this tire was simply amazing i had pirelli pr all season tires on previesly and the firehawk gt put those to shame in all aspects. the cornering ability under dry and wet conditions is unbelivable. the snow and ice traction needs work but again you need to understand performance tires. i have kept up with all tire care thus far and tires are looking great. i would buy these againg but i would like to try brigstone potenza re050's whitch is the big brother to the firehawk gt

So far, a great tire. Excellent in dry handling, and great in wet handling as well. (Much much better than the stock Continental 4x4s) Have been great for wet and dry stopping as well. Driven them in a few snows, and so far have not had any problems getting around. Ride and Noise are good, about what I would expect for this kind of tire. They really look great on the car as well. Overall, I would definitly buy them again, as long as they hold up, as I only have 1000 miles so far. Will update my rating later after getting some more time on the road.

...Quiet, responsive, good traction, wear reasonably, look good, ride smooth, brake well, and corner well...

These were original equipment with my Challenger Rallye Redline. I've never been a huge fan of Firestone, as I generally buy Michelins. However, these Firestones are impressive. Quiet, responsive, good traction, wear reasonably, look good, ride smooth, brake well, and corner well. I can't ask for much more. I'll be interested in how they do in the snow, although I don't expect to drive a Challenger in the snow much anyway. So far, I'd consider putting an identical set of tires on when this set wears out.

...Handling and responsiveness are much better; freeway entry ramps with curves that I could once only take at 40mph I can now maintain 45-50mph...

I have only had theses tires for about 5000 miles but they are a dramatic improvement over the OEM Michelin MXV4's that came on the car. The noise level on these tires is minimal at best, and I have noticed no decrease in my MPG. Tread wear remains to be seen, but anything can be better than the Michelins (20,000 miles and it was over). Handling and responsiveness are much better; freeway entry ramps with curves that I could once only take a 40mph I can now maintain 45-50mph. Additionally it's not as uncomfortable going around roundabouts as it use to be. So far so good, I would defiantly recommend this tire. The price was also very reasonable taking into account its comparables, if you are willing to get pass the "Firestone stigma".

These tires have been great. The deep snow traction is fine as long as you don't have any steep hills to go up. They get going fine in snow and ice although a dedicated winter tire would perform much better. These tires do very well in the dry though. They corner with tenacious grip and steering is very responsive. The tire gives you a great feeling of control in every situation. High speed and low. Braking is very good and hydroplaning is a non-issue. Wet traction is also very good and is hard to break them loose. Road noise is average and treadwear has been good. Overall I have been very pleased with this tire.

Winter traction shows concerning scores, with many 0-5 ratings citing slippery snow performance and unacceptable ice grip. While some rate 7-10, inconsistent handling leaves drivers dissatisfied in all-season conditions. Poor deep snow traction and frequent reports of sliding highlight significant winter weaknesses.

...The tires basically lose too much tread to be usable in snow. Avoid these tires if you live in a snowy climate.

Tires are almost bald after 25000 miles with manufacturer specified tire pressures. The center ribs/channels wear away and the tires cause the car to be unstable over light snow, wet roads, and liquid tar road patch. The tires basically lose too much tread to be usable in snow. Avoid these tires if you live in a snowy climate.

I purchased these to replace the OEM Pirelli Scorpions due to the noise, treadwear, etc. This was recommended by Tire Rack and a local tire dealer (I purchased from Tire Rack) While they were quieter initially, they are getting noisier, but not to the extent of the Pirelli's. My problem with them is that they make the ride "bouncier" hard to define other than that. The car also skips when it hits a bump ever since these tires were installed. Air pressure, etc. is as recommended. I would not recommend these tires for that alone.

...It was a noise so annoying that i had to turn my radio up to mask the noise and that doesn't even do the trick...

This tire is prone to Cupping and that was what I was told when I went to Firestone to replace the tires. Mine have started cupping last summer and finally i could not stand the noise anymore. It was a noise so annoying that i had to turn my radio up to mask the noise and that doesn't even do the trick. If it were not for this problem I could have gone months/miles with the back tires...the front ones were more warn so would have needed to be replaced first but I never replace tires 2 at a time I always do all 4.

...These tires are so loud and only get worse with time! They make my Jeep, with 31 BFG AT tires, sound like a Lexus. The road noise is unbearable...

I replaced the factory Bridgestone Turanza tires with the Firestone Firehawk GT. I am in sales and drive 30,000 miles a year in the company car. When the Bridgestones wore out the fleet car company would not approve the Bridgestones but recommended the Firehawk. These tires are so loud and only get worse with time! They make my Jeep, with 31" BFG AT tires, sound like a Lexus. The road noise is unbearable. I can only dream that I wake up in the morning and someone has slashed all four tires. Unfortunately, the tires with 25,000 miles look new. The treadwear has been great. Handling is excellent. The car's suspension restricts the handling, not the tires(it is a Camry). The best feature is the appearance of the tires. They look very sporty and aggressive. Snow driving was poor, but I would contribute that more to the car than the tire. Overall a good handling tire if you can bare the excessive road noise.

...Third was how quickly the tread lost depth...

This tire was recommended by the salesman at the store I purchased them from. He really made them sound awesome. The tire was not a good choice for my vehicle, but was a good sale commission for him. Over the life of these tires, first thing I noticed was a drastic drop in fuel efficiency. Second thing was noise. Third was how quickly the tread lost depth. For my car, the tires were so loud, that after a qualified mechanic has replaced a wheel bearing, the test drove the car, then checked all the other wheel bearings. The noise of the tires was much like the noise of a bad wheel bearing. I didn't want to be disappointed, however I was. I have replaced them with the Yokohama AVID ENVigor. Where have they been all my life!!

The Firestone tires I am reviewing are the tires that came with the car. For a "high performance all season tire" dry and wet performance are average at best while snow performance is well below average. Tread wear is abysmal. After only 25k miles the tires need to be replaced not only because of the terrible tread wear but all the tires are cracking. I would expect better performance and much better tread wear for a $200+ tire that is supposed to last 40k miles and is considered high performance all season.
