The CrossClimate SUV is Michelin's Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season tire originally developed for Original Equipment use on the Mercedes-Benz GLE and GLS (non-US market). The CrossClimate SUV is an all-weather tire that meets industry severe snow service requirements for the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol and is designed to be a one-tire solution for drivers in environments that experience all four seasons, but don't receive sufficient snowfall to require a dedicated winter tire.
The CrossClimate SUV features an all-season compound molded into a highly directional tread pattern with nearly solid transverse ribs for handling stability and dry traction. Wide lateral grooves and open shoulders provide a direct path to evacuate water from beneath the contact patch for hydroplaning resistance, while the bevel-edged tread blocks provide grip on damp surfaces. 3D self-locking sipes create additional biting edges for foul-weather traction, and Emerging grooves in the shoulder help retain confident winter traction as the tire wears. The biting edges combined with the specialized compound deliver the traction needed to receive the three-peak mountain snowflake symbol (3PMSF).
The internal construction of the CrossClimate SUV consists of a single-ply polyester casing supporting two steel belts. A polyamide reinforcement aids in handling performance and provides high-speed durability.
Note: While non-winter tires featuring the Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

...Excellent wet driving traction, with no hydroplaning unless there's standing water...
Replaced OEP run flats for this vehicle. To say this was a world of improvement would be an understatement. I'm an aggressive driver, driving mostly highway. In Florida, traffic moves at 80 and above on the interstate. These tires give me great control, and handle rapid changes in speed and direction without problem. Decent braking distance. Excellent wet driving traction, with no hydroplaning unless there's standing water. 17,000 miles on them at this point, no evidence of excessive wear with periodic rotation and balancing. An outstanding tire for the price.

...On wet day they're pretty amazing, yet to hydroplane yet...
Outstanding tire, albeit slightly more noisy than a normal touring tire. I don't really notice it anymore to be honest, and this small drawback is nothing compared to the ride on these tires. On a dry day they're outstanding, fairly soft ride and good on bumps. On a wet day they're pretty amazing, yet to hydroplane yet. When footing gets rough they really shine. We had a sudden snowstorm last winter and people were parking in ditches right and left. I had absolutely no problems whatsoever, no small part of which was the remarkably traction control system on the X but also the incredible traction with these tires in snow and hardpack. Just the road to my home was so littered with cars and pickups that I went home for my recovery strap and pulled a bunch of folks back to the road. These tires are simply remarkable.
Not enough miles on them yet to be sure of how long they'll last but my last set of tires crapped out after about 20k (this is a very heavy car with punishing acceleration, bad for tires) and these are still going strong. When they do die, I'll be getting another set, by far the best tires I've had on the X.

Most customers rate winter traction highly, with many 9s and 10s for snow and deep snow performance. Ice traction scores are mostly 7-10, though a few note slightly lower ice grip (some 5s-6s). Overall, it delivers reliable winter capability for all-season use.

...The biggest surprise so far has been how well they have handled in deep snow and hard packed snow... The only time I had any issue with traction when accelerating was from a dead stop on ice, and then only briefly. Like any tire, if you are in deep slush you may get pulled by the ruts a little bit, but it was easy enough to turn out of the ruts and I never felt like I lost control due to the tires themselves...
I had these tires installed on December 12, 2019. Living in West Michigan over the course of the past three weeks I have driven with them in slush, hard packed snow / ice, 60 degree dry sunny weather, heavy rain, and as of today, 6 inches of powdery snowfall. So far they have been the best tires I have owned. They are definitely better than the Yokohama's that were on my truck when I bought it that had zero traction if there was any moisture on the ground and the temperature dropped below 35 .
The biggest surprise so far has been how well they have handled in deep snow and hard packed snow. I like to get a good feel for my tires responsiveness in a semi controlled setting so I know how they will act in an emergency. I have hammered the gas, slammed on the brakes, and taken corners a bit harder than I normally drive while on some isolated back roads just to see if / when the tires would break traction. The only time I had any issue with traction when accelerating was from a dead stop on ice, and then only briefly. Like any tire, if you are in deep slush you may get pulled by the ruts a little bit, but it was easy enough to turn out of the ruts and I never felt like I lost control due to the tires themselves. Hard braking on both deep snow and hard pack has only caused the ABS system to engage briefly.
Driving normally I have had nothing but great responsiveness from the tires and I haven't noticed any loss of traction while accelerating, braking, or cornering.
For the first 100 miles or so there was a slight hum but there is very little road noise now. My wife has even commented on how quiet these tires are. She's also noted that she expected to feel a lot more impact from the road (potholes and the like) given the tread pattern but she's been very pleasantly surprised at how little you really feel.
I will try to update as I get a little more mileage on the tires - but so far I have no complaints!

...I did not drive it during the snow and ice but she went where ever she need to go without incident...
Put these on spouses SUV after reading Tire Rack Reviews. I was leaning toward a different band because the O.E.M. Michelin's had bad tread life but decided to give them a try. I don't drive it much but my time behind the wheel have been pleasant. Little road noise, a slightly softer ride and better manners in the wet. I did not drive it during the snow and ice but she went where ever she need to go without incident. I am impressed with them enough that I purchased another set to put on the youngster's car.

I bought the new Crossclimate SUvs purely for dry and wet performance and they exceeded my expectations... I bought the new Crossclimate SUvs purely for dry and wet performance and they exceeded my expectations. And they are dead quiet on the highway! On my tire test road, a downhill, decreasing radius, 180 degree highway on ramp, I could get my old front tires, Nitto CrossTeks, to squeal but for the life of me I can't get the CrossClimates to squeal....I don't want to tip over of course. AND, my steering is noticeably lighter.
They perform very, very well in wet and in slush, haven't had the opportunity to test in deep snow but I don't expect all weather rated tires to do well in deep snow. My gas mileage has not improved or suffered, but I didn't buy them to improve mpg. Highly recommended!

I swapped out my stock michelin touring all-seasons for this set after seeing glowing reviews. So far I have been extremely impressed. The old michelins were solid, but these are better in every way. I notice a clear improvement in traction (dry and wet), significantly less road noise, a smoother ride, better grip on aggressive cornering (no more premature chirping) and generally a more confidence inspiring driving experience. I look forward to testing their snow performance next winter, but just looking at the tread it's obvious they'll do better than a normal all-season. I have already recommended these to friends and family. So far they are the best tires I've had. Hopefully tread life will be reasonable.

...The v tread has phenomenal grip & makes handling in WI snow/icy conditions a breeze (main reason why I bought them), dry - great control...
My auto mechanic son recommended Tirerack.com as it provides lots of detail and comparisons for choosing the perfect tire. I've had Michelin Latitude Tour & Premier in the past, but these Michelin Cross Climate tires are by far the BEST tire I've put on my vehicle! The v tread has phenomenal grip & makes handling in WI snow/icy conditions a breeze (main reason why I bought them), dry - great control, wet- great control/no hydroplaning, noise - very quiet, comfort - soft ride. The price is acceptable for the quality, along with Michelin's good deals. Tirerack.com delivered the tires directly to me in two days. I am very satisfied with the purchase and plan on researching tires on this website again for another vehicle. Thank you, Tirerack.com and Michelin!

...These tires were a marked improvement all around... Also they'll last longer and keep their performance and comfort longer than the old tires did.
I needed to replace worn out OEM Continental tires that initially came with our Volvo prematurely @ 35k miles. These tires were a marked improvement all around, especially in downpours where handling is so critical. Best I've ever owned in the 52 years of my driving experience. I can't recommend them highly enough. We both drive now with a bit more confidence in bad weather, whether we're in upstate NY or So. FL. They're so worth the money for the peace of mind they bring. Also they'll last longer and keep their performance and comfort longer than the old tires did.

Treadwear receives strong ratings, with most customers scoring 9s and 10s for long-lasting all-season performance. While a few lower scores indicate variability, the CrossClimate SUV's tread life excels in its intended touring use.

...I drive over 60k miles/year, so hopefully the tread-ware will be better than my last set of Michelin Premiers, which I pretty much hated.
So far, so good. I've been driving in a late-season winter storm the last couple of days, and the tires have performed very well. They go through snow, slush, and snowplow-ridges with zero issues. Glare ice is not so great, but I didn't expect much there, as these tires are not siped. Overall, pleasantly surprised with their snow performance and happy with my purchase. I drive over 60k miles/year, so hopefully the tread-ware will be better than my last set of Michelin Premiers, which I pretty much hated.

...Initial install was December of 2021, and in March of 2023 (15 months) the tread is almost gone with only 17,500 miles on the tires. Our trusted automotive advisor of 27 years said we needed to consider new tires very soon...
My wife and travel to Iowa from Arkansas at least twice a year. The wet performance of this tire exceeds not only our expectations, but does so with high marks in every way EXCEPT treadwear. The tire carries a 50K warranty, so we figured that we''d get close to 3 years. Not even close. Initial install was December of 2021, and in March of 2023 (15 months) the tread is almost gone with only 17,500 miles on the tires. Our trusted automotive advisor of 27 years said we needed to consider new tires very soon.
If we had plenty of spare income, I would not hesitate to purchase another set. But like most people, we can''t splurge on expensive tires. We will may be able to get some coverage under the treadwear warranty, but I''m not holding my breath. I''ve never made a claim for tire warranty from any brand. Like most warranty claims, my expectations are likely higher than reality. All told, this is my second disappointment with Michelin. We put a set of Premier LTX on this same vehicle some time ago, and got only two years from that model of tire.
