The Scorpion All Terrain Plus is Pirelli's Off-Road All-Terrain light truck tire developed for drivers of pickup trucks, crossovers, and SUVs who want a balanced blend of on-road civility with off-road capability. The Scorpion All Terrain Plus is designed with a focus on optimizing durability, traction and wear resistance, in addition to providing light snow traction sufficient to receive the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

Utilizing Pirelli's cut- and chip-resistant, New Generation tread compound, the Scorpion All Terrain Plus is molded into a symmetric, high-void pattern. This pattern is designed to provide smooth and quiet on-road operation along with aggressive looks and confident off-road traction. Deep grooves and independent tread blocks help provide the clawing action needed to find grip in loose terrain, and conical stone ejectors resist punctures by forcing small rocks from the tread. Wide lateral notches and open shoulders evacuate water from the contact patch to aid hydroplaning resistance and the advanced compound combines with multiple block edges and in-block sipes to provide sure-footed performance in slippery or snowy conditions.

The internal construction of the Scorpion All Terrain Plus consists of a polyester casing to combine durability with ride comfort. Two high-strength steel belts stabilize and support the footprint, and multiple nylon reinforcement plies increase durability and provide high-speed capability.

Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

...Excellent ride quality, noise level, and above average dry and wet traction for an all-terrain tire...

Almost 10k miles in, these tires are far exceeding my expectations for a 3/4 ton truck. Excellent ride quality, noise level, and above average dry and wet traction for an all-terrain tire. Would highly recommend.

...Dry and wet on road traction excellent...

Very good tires. Slight noise on highway but not distracting by any means. Dry and wet on road traction excellent. Off road they are as good as BfGoodrich AT2. Snow traction has been impressive and very controllable if you do make them break loose a little. Hardly any wear so far. Sidewalls seem stiff for good steering response and handling but ride is not harsh. Had many sets of tires on this truck over twenty years. These are all around the best I have used.

...Very pleased with the winter traction of these scorpions, in terms of winter traction compared to my all seasons, the scorpions are 2 times better. If you're looking for better winter traction without having to remove them for summer these are it...

Got these pirelli scorpions to replace a set of worn out continentals. We live in Wisconsin, winter traction is important. My SUV always did good in snow and icey conditions with just all seasons, but this time around I wanted something a bit better traction for winter without going to a dedicated winter tire. These pirelli's are snow rated. Hesitant at first because I didn't want to go with an all terrain type but was the only tire that fit criteria I was looking for. Bit more noisier than the ones they replaced, and mpg went down about 3mpgs, but I expected that before I bought them, so no surprises there. January 28 2019, first major snowstorm of the year with snow drifts 4 feet high, took my SUV out for a drive. 0-6" of powdery snow no problem, traction control didn't even come on when accelerating in straight lines. Went through snow banks 1feet high created by snowplows with ease. Haven't driven in rain so can't comment on that, but drove through deep puddles with no problems. Very pleased with the winter traction of these scorpions , in terms of winter traction compared to my all seasons, the scorpions are 2 times better. If you're looking for better winter traction without having to remove them for summer these are it. I also considered the Toyo Celcius but ultimately chose the scorpions for deeper treads as my last tires were rated for 70k and I only got 40k-ish out of them.

Really enjoying these tires. Excellent wet and snow traction. Had a deep snow last month over a layer of ice. Tires dug in and pushed the truck through. Didn't even need to kick into 4wd to get through 8-inches of the stuff. A little sliding in the corners, but as expected for being in 2wd and on unplowed streets. In the dry, the tires are quiet on the road, look great on the truck, and have excellent bite into the pavement. Tire Rack shipped quick and had them installed at my local shop.

Although i only have a couple hundred miles on these tires from my recent purchase and install of them i wanted to go ahead and submit a review. I live on a farm in ohio and with the recent winter activity we have had im thoroughly impressed with these tires. I went from factory to the pirellis and what a difference of course. Yesterday we went from 4 inches of snow and 25 degrees in the morning to consistent rain and 40 degree temps. My drive into work was a slush mix due the snow turning into rain, never had a issue with traction on the untreated country roads i live on to the highway i use to get to work. With the large amount of water mixed in the roadways i never had a hydroplane issue these tires they clean themselves out very well, i was able to actually do the speed limit and pass people lol. I move trailers alot around my property and the area is gravel/muddy i decided to use my truck instead of the utv to do so to try these tires out and never had a issue in those conditions even though i was driving slow. I havent hauled anything over an extended distance yet if any issue arises i will update the review. Highly suggest these tires!

...great on road and off road... Traction in all conditions was great!...

I just replaced these tires with the same exact tire after 60000+ miles put on them. Never had any issues and they were great on road and off road. Of course as they wore they did have noise but i never thought it was too bad. However after having the new ones installed I really forgot how quiet a ride these tires are. They do great in snow, I live in NE Ohio and even with the old set they still performed well. Towing boats is no problem either I have towed both my 17' duck hunting boat and my 19' fishing boat all over Ohio, Michigan and New York, tires performed excellent on all types of ramps including those steep ramps down on the Ohio River. Traction in all conditions was great! I don't have anything negative to say about this tire.

...Responsive handling on dry pavement ( just as sticky as the all season tires on my wife's SUV)...

The Pirelli All Terrain Plus is the first truck tire I've purchased more than once. The OEM Hankooks on my F-150 lasted 70,000 miles but literally left me stuck in the mud when I went off road. The Yokohama Geolandar's I replaced them with had some decent off road traction and were terrific on icy/slushy roads, but were bald at 35,000 miles. I'm buying my second set of Pirelli's after 47,000 miles (just shy of the 50,000 tread warranty). I could probably run them to 50,000 but winter road conditions in Iowa are not meant for rolling the dice :) Strengths of this tire include:

- Incredibly quiet tires for the all-terrain category
- Responsive handling on dry pavement (just as sticky as the all season tires on my wife's SUV)
- No issues in wet conditions with ample tread
- Simply the best gravel/dirt road tire I've ever owned (amazing lateral grip when navigating tight turns on gravel roads)
- Some of the best snow tires I've ever owned
- Limited use in the mud but the results were encouraging
- Towed my 16 ft boat without any issues

Weaknesses:
- Ice traction could be better. The siping on these tires is fairly basic and it shows on ice.
- Treadwear became a little uneven and slight cupping began to occur at 40,000 miles. Tires were still drivable, but began sacrificing some grip in wet/snowy/off road conditions

Final verdict: These tires were a great option for someone like me who drives pavement 90% of the time but who needs tires that perform well in winter conditions in the Midwest and during weekend hunting/fishing excursions on gravel/dirt roads with occasional 4x4 runs through the mud. A great all around all-terrain option at a competitive price point both times I've purchased. Highly recommend if you're looking for a budget all-terrain tire.

...For an all terrain to be as comfortable and quiet as they are, I don't think there is any better...

Bought these tires to replace worn all terrains I had on my Jeep. Three days after I put them on I drove 1600 miles from PA to GA and back. All I have to say is they are OUTSTANDING... For an all terrain to be as comfortable and quiet as they are, I don't think there is any better. I have put about 2500 miles on these tires and couldn't be happier. I bought these 11/2020.

...If there is a negative, it would be the tread wear, but I would rather have the good snow/ice traction and sacrifice the longevity. I put on 45,000 miles on the first set and I would have driven them longer except that winter was setting in and the tread depth was marginal for snow use.

This is my second set of these tires for my truck. The experience has not disappointed, as I really liked the first set. They handle the Minnesota winter weather very well. If there is a negative, it would be the tread wear, but I would rather have the good snow/ice traction and sacrifice the longevity. I put on 45,000 miles on the first set and I would have driven them longer except that winter was setting in and the tread depth was marginal for snow use.

...And lastly, they wear pretty quickly. My previous set of tires (Michelin) lasted me just over 70000. I doubt these will last 40000.

I expected better performance from Pirelli. The first problem with these tires was that one of them could not be balanced without a huge number of weights on one side. To avoid the hassle of returning it, cost of dismount/mount new one, shipping and waiting for another tire, I used it as a spare. Secondly, they do not provide good traction on loose ground or mud. And lastly, they wear pretty quickly. My previous set of tires (Michelin) lasted me just over 70000. I doubt these will last 40000.
