Customers rate the Firestone WeatherGrip's wet traction highly, with most scoring 9s and 10s. The majority of ratings fall between 7-10, reflecting confident grip and reliable hydroplaning resistance in all-season conditions. Occasional 7s still indicate solid wet performance for a grand touring tire.

...Very good traction in wet conditions, both at highway speeds and handling around exit/entrance ramps...
I am very surprised and impressed with these tires. I was expecting reasonable traction in most conditions. However, they are excellent! Very good traction in wet conditions, both at highway speeds and handling around exit/entrance ramps. Excellent for an all season tire in snow and ice. Plowed roads, fresh snow, even packed down and icy conditions. I plow for a living, and with these tires I no longer need to take a truck home between storms. I can leave the plow truck in the shop, and commute with my Outback. They even handle a dry exit ramp, pushing the limits, much better than anticipated.
These Weathergrips replaced a set of worn out Firestone All Seasons. I didn’t have the All Seasons from new, so I don’t know what they were like originally. By the time I got the Subaru Outback, it was terrible in snow. Day and night difference, now. It’s like a whole new vehicle.
I have several other vehicles with top rated tires. Continental DWS 06, Falken Wild Peak A/T3, General Altimax 365AW… each very good in their respective classes. I would put these Firestone Weathergrips up there with any of them.
I got an amazing deal through Tire Rack. My first time with them, but won’t be my last.
Very pleased, overall. Would definitely buy them again.

...I've never experienced hydroplaning in wet conditions, even at freeway speeds...
These tires are fantastic for winter driving. They even handle deep snow, rarely breaking traction. I've never experienced hydroplaning in wet conditions, even at freeway speeds.
On dry pavement, I can feel some slight feedback resulting from the more aggressive tread design, but it's very minimal and an acceptable compromise considering the winter driving capabilities. The tread design also generates more road noise than less aggressive tires, but my car is an older, small coupe that resonates engine noise anyway, so the road noise doesn't bother me, and it's minimal. Again, the pros of the winter capabilities far over ride the cons mentioned.
After 1 year and nearly 10000 miles, the wear is barely noticeable. These tires will be extremely reliable for this year's upcoming winter commuting.

These definitely grip well when wet out... I rarely get the same tires so I am going to try a different brand (Falken A/T Trails) but if you're looking for a good wet weather tire the Firestones are excellent in my opinion.
These tires do grip on dry and wet roads! I had to get used to them at first because they felt like they were glued to the road, literally. I would be going down hills I've traveled many times before and it felt like I was dragging an anchor, I just wasn't coasting down them as fast (granted my old tires were pretty worn so they didn't have much grip anymore). If I remember correctly, I did lose some miles/gallon at first until they wore in a bit.
I really bought these tires hoping for a bit more traction in snowy conditions. With the Outback I wasn't concerned about getting stuck but wanted better stopping and cornering confidence in the snow. I had to wait a while for the snow but did experience rainy days and was really impressed with wet weather handling, especially hydroplaning. These definitely grip well when wet out. I have to say though that I was disappointed in the snow handling. I was right about the Outback not getting stuck, I could drive through snow up to my hood without getting stuck but on lighter snow they never gave me the confidence I was looking for. Braking and cornering were so-so and would slip and slide more than I wished.
I did get decent life out of them even though I drive pretty hard and had a worn out tie rod, about 45,000 miles.
I rarely get the same tires so I am going to try a different brand (Falken A/T Trails) but if you're looking for a good wet weather tire the Firestones are excellent in my opinion.

Customers rate the WeatherGrip's winter traction highly, with most snow and deep snow scores 9-10. Ice traction sees mostly 7-10 ratings, though a few note room for improvement. Strong snowy condition performance aligns well with its all-season design.

What little we have driven in snow and ice this winter, we have been very impressed with the WeatherGrip tire compared to the OEM Toyo's. They have considerably more traction in the slick. And give the ABS and traction control much more to work with, causing them to behave much differently and better. Gave my wife much more confidence driving on ice and packed snow.
They don't ride any better, a disappointment, than the rough original tires. There is some whining and whirring on some pavements that is noticeable but not objectionable.

After 10,000 miles they literally look brand new; I can't see any treadwear. Handles great in both the summer heat/rain and winter cold/snow. Even driving with the windows down they are pretty quiet. I'll see how the rest of the tire life plays out but I'm almost certain I will be purchasing these again given the very competitive cost for the performance.

...Dry is very good too. No complaints...
I bought the Weathergrip in Jan 4,2021. I live north of Pittsburgh and drive full time 300-500 miles a day at the airport. I drive Uber Premier (black car)
I’ve driven 14,000 miles in a little less than 2 months. It’s very hilly here and it’s snowed a lot.
These tires are amazing. I usually use Blizak ws90 and switch out for the warm months but since I put these on in Jan 2 winter months past buy I thought I’d switch up ant try these. My last car got rear ended in Dec and I sold it after the insurance co fixed it. It had Ned Blizaks on it.
I’m in snow ice slush mostly highway but taking people home to back roads Country untreated roads long driveways. Theses are great. I have so much confidence in them. When it’s bad weather out other drivers stay home. I make great money with these. I’m so happy I found them.
They have a slight road noise. Very slight. I drive picky people who pay alot. No complaints ever. With 14,000 on them now very little wear so far. I rotate them every 4 thousand miles with my oil changes.
I have Goodyear Wether ready on my wife’s and both daughters cars since they don’t drive out when it’s real bad. But I wanted a good all weather tire for them. This has the exact same amount of noise as them.
Rain, light snow and up to 8 inches of snow up hills and down. These tires won’t let you down. Dry is very good too. No complaints.

...So far, in the dry, these tires perform exceptionally well as touring tires... Turn in seems to be pretty good, as well as a much improved on center feel compared to what was on there prior...
2015 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid
So far, in the dry and wet, these tires perform exceptionally well as touring tires. They handle bumps in city driving extremely well, though on highway driving (65-75 mph), they seem a little stiffer. Wet traction is about equal to dry traction. Solid braking performance, with no ABS actuation at full pedal. Turn in seems to be pretty good, as well as a much improved on center feel compared to what was on there prior. For the average driver, these tires seem to inspire plenty of confidence in both wet and dry conditions.

...I've heard others mentions some minimal road noise, but I don't hear it... Comfort was already great, and stayed that way...
WOW!!! We've owned all kinds of vehicles and tires over the years. From 1 ton 4wd crew cabs, to small AWD SUVs to compact FWD rice burners. Added this Camry to our fleet last summer because at 25K miles a year, my 1 ton diesel was driving me broke. Tires were getting pretty bad at the time so I replaced them late in the fall with the weather grips. I've heard others mentions some minimal road noise, but I don't hear it. Then again, I'm used to a 7.3l diesel. Traction and handling are great! Comfort was already great, and stayed that way. We finally got some snow and ice, and I was amazed at the traction. I pushed the limits of the tires in every parking lot I could find, every time we got any snow or sleet. From slush up to 8" of snow, they are amazing. Between the front wheel drive, traction control, and the tires themselves, it was nearly impossible to get the car to slide. Breaking was even more impressive. Even on slick, hard packed snow, I could brake as if I were on dry asphalt and rarely engage the ABS. On pure, slick ice, traction was so-so. Without studs or chains, I've never found a tire that had any noticeable traction on slick ice. All in all, this is the most sure footed vehicle/tire combination I've driven in the past 25 years. If these tires make it anywhere near their 65K mile warrantee, they will be my go-to tire for our passenger vehicles from now on.

I bought these for my Ram promaster city. The previous tires were more of a touring tire with a non aggressive tread. These were a game changer in the snow. They handle quite nicely but the tire seems quite a bit softer and has some mild road noise. I believe the noise is generated from the cross cuts in the tread. They are great in wet conditions. Overall I am very happy with them. I only have 3000 miles on them and they were just rotated. No noticeable tread wear yet.

...I have 40K on these tires and they are still a couple of mills above the treadwear indicators so I'll probably be buying another set in the fall / early winter. Guarantee for tread life is for 65K so I'd say that is pretty accurate.
These are FANTASTIC tires. I have never had issues in slick weather with having nearly any unexpected slipping. Very predictable with speed and torque in deep snow or snow packed roads. If I had anything discretionary to say about these tires is that they are a bit "hummy" on dry pavement at low speeds. Oh one other issue is asking to have them rotated in the spring and the garage thinks they are winter tires and we will be removing them soon so they ignore the service order. :) High speed handling is reasonably tight (obviously not a Firehawk or Eagle GT), but I have taken them aggressively through a number of tight ramps with no unexpected loss of traction. Wet traction is ridiculously good and only in the deepest standing water +1/2" is there any chance of hydroplaning. I have 40K on these tires and they are still a couple of mills above the treadwear indicators so I'll probably be buying another set in the fall / early winter. Guarantee for tread life is for 65K so I'd say that is pretty accurate.

...The tires are responsive and wearing well...
Even though my size is getting harder to find, I am happy with these tires. They are on the back of a lincoln towncar so take that into account. I drive my car with 475,000 miles on it everyday, so know how is responds. Although I drive it like a limo, smooth starts and stops, the in between time is spirited. 70-80 mph most of the time on highway, but have fun on traffic circles. The tires are responsive and wearing well. I would buy again.
