The ExtremeContact DWS 06 PLUS is Continental's Ultra High Performance All-Season tire developed for drivers of sports cars, sports coupes, performance sedans, SUVs and CUVs. Designed to improve upon key metrics compared to its predecessor, like braking in dry and wet, along with increased traction in snow and ice, the ExtremeContact DWS 06 PLUS is built to deliver skillful handling and high-speed capability with increased confidence for inclement weather, even in light snow.

Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus Callouts

Featuring an updated, performance-tuned all-season tread compound molded into an updated asymmetric tread design and utilizing SPORTPLUS+ Technology, the ExtremeContact DWS 06 PLUS is built for enhanced handling and braking performance. Macro-Blocks and Chamfered block edges help improve ultimate dry road traction and provide increased cornering responsiveness. Generous high angle and circumferential grooves help evacuate water from the contact patch for increased hydroplaning resistance. 3D sipes help retain handling precision while increasing the number of biting edges for improved wet traction, while X-Sipes are utilized to improve lateral and longitudinal grip in inclement weather. Traction grooves within the circumferential channels further enhance winter weather traction by improving snow-to-snow traction.

ExtremeContact DWS 06 PLUS tires feature an Alignment Verification System to help identify vehicle misalignment concerns early in the tire's life before wear patterns form. The system also confirms suitability for different driving conditions through Tuned Performance Indicators. Tuned Performance Indicators are visible letters molded into the second rib from the outboard shoulder to alert drivers of the tire's performance levels. A visible "DWS" indicates the tire has appropriate tread depth for dry conditions, as well as wet roads and snow. After the "S" has worn away, the remaining "DW" indicates the tire only has appropriate tread depth for dry and most wet road conditions. After the "W" and "S" have both worn away, the remaining "D" indicates the tire has appropriate tread depth for dry conditions only.

The ExtremeContact DWS 06 PLUS incorporates a high strength, 2 ply sidewall construction for improved resistance to damage, along with a Sport Sidewall Insert for increased handling responsiveness. Continental's new high-strength, triple action, hybrid cap ply helps combine the positive attributes of a stiffer cord material for improved handling characteristics, while simultaneously retaining the benefits of a more flexible cord, helping maintain a smooth and quiet ride with an optimized contact patch for even wear and longer tread life.

...Best combination of wet and dry traction, low noise and good comfort in a reasonably priced tire...

Great tires. Best combination of wet and dry traction, low noise and good comfort in a reasonably priced tire. The only downside is treadwear, but I accept that tradeoff considering how good these tires are at everything else.

...improvement in traction below 50 degrees...

This purchase was to replace the rear tires which wear about twice as fast as the fronts due to the rear weight bias of the car. Originally these tires replaced Ultra High Performance Summer tires. The key differences are the dramatic reduction of road noise, reduction of road roughness, improvement in traction below 50 degrees, and very little tradeoff in traction in the heat compared with summer performance on street driving. The feel of the tire isn't as solid as the UHP Summers, but my speed through known corners is the same. As you reach the limit, they drift gradually and under complete control.

...For an all season offering, the traction and steering response is outstanding... I get to use them in cold weather! I?m pretty impressed.

I have had a set of these on my Audi for a few years and now on the Miata. For an all season offering, the traction and steering response is outstanding. These far exceed the dedicated summer tires that I have used in the past, and I get to use them in cold weather! I’m pretty impressed.

Good performance, pretty quiet, good braking and wet traction. The tires did surprisingly well in snow and ice. Wear has been very good for the performance levels. Far superior to the Kumhos that were last installed by a family member.

Love these tires for dry traction...

Love these tires for dry traction. I rarely drive this car in the rain, but when I have the tires have been fine. I don't drive it in the snow. As for treadwear, I think it could be better as the previous set only lasted about 20k miles.

...dry traction is very good and just a little less than a summer tire. You will only notice the difference at the very extreme.

I've got these on my 2009 Corolla S that I've turbocharged and upgraded a loot of the car, it's nothing like it was when new. It has 100 hp more than stock, a front Big Brake Kit, coilovers, and many chassis mods to stiffen the structure. My previous 2 sets of tires were the Michelin PS A/S 3 and 3+. The Continental DWS 06+ rides better than the Michelin but the softer sidewall makes the steering response less responsive. Wet traction is excellent and dry traction is very good and just a little less than a summer tire. You will only notice the difference at the very extreme.

So far, the tires are really quiet and the ride is very comfortable. Traction is super awesome! I haven't noticed a negative impact on mileage compared to the stock Pirelli P Zero extreme performance all season tires it had. When the tires are inflated according to the TPMS 36/37, the ride is definitely bouncier and the you do get a little a little, yet NOT bothersome basketball bounce resonant sound. If you're looking for riding on a cloud, you're probably not even considering this tire. If you're considering this tire, get it. You will love it.

These tires are quiet, responsive and wear like iron. 8500 miles so far and they still look new. Fantastic wet/light snow traction. (haven't had a heavy snow so far so l cant rate that) On dry highways they cant be beat for steering response and ride. They even increased my MPG slightly.
I own 3 cars and a small pickup. These will be my first choice from now on.

Outstanding all season. My tires are down to 5/32 after 20,000 miles. I am very pleased with the wear considering I am very, very spirited. Great in the rain and very good on dry surfaces. Had these on my 2018 Golf R and was very pleased with their performance. Just bought a 2026 R and bought these tires as well. Very hard to find a better all season than the Continental's.
