The Destination X/T is Firestone's Off-Road All-Terrain tire developed for the drivers of ¾- and 1-ton pickup trucks, body-on-frame SUVs and Jeeps who want go-anywhere dependability and proven traction, regardless of the conditions. Designed to combine on-road civility, off-road capability and confident light snow traction, the Destination X/T is severe snow service rated and is branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

A specially formulated rubber compound is molded into the Destination X/T's aggressive, symmetric pattern. Firestone's TractionTech Package features full-depth features and interlocking sipes that maintain stiffness in the independent tread blocks for stability and longevity, in addition to providing consistent traction throughout the tire's life. Deep tread depths, a high void ratio and open shoulders help evacuate water from the contact patch to enhance hydroplaning resistance, while also delivering confident off-road traction. The aggressive off-shoulder tread design creates the biting edges needed to find any available grip in loose and varied terrain. High lateral edge density in the pattern and the interlocking lug design provide snow traction, and block wall ridges in the outboard grooves grab onto snow, further enhancing grip.

Internal construction of the Destination X/T utilizes a two-ply, polyester cord casing supporting two high-tensile steel belts. A nylon reinforcement ply aids durability and provides higher speed capability.

Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

...So far, this tires seem to have solved both problems while still remaining reasonably glued to the road...

Really good tires.
Some roads in Maryland are paved with extra-rough asphalt, in theory to prevent slides and accidents.
So, most tires are VERY noisy and those that are not don't last long.
So far, this tires seem to have solved both problems while still remaining reasonably "glued to the road"

...I got them for wet traction and they are fantastic for that...

The tires have a distinct “car” tire look that is a little odd on a truck but the tires are great. I got them for wet traction and they are fantastic for that.

The ride is very quiet, I can hear the wind and engine now, not my old tires which is a plus. Of course I can hear my wife now too, so not all good.

The price of the tires was my final decision maker and that was half the price of my original tires. No regrets whatsoever on the purchase or service from Tirerack.

These tires perform exactly as you would expect, which adds a lot of confidence in trickier conditions. Wet and snow driving is totally predictable. My snow and ice experience is only on paved road surfaces, but they served me very well in Iowa winters. Liked these so much that I searched and searched to get a second set after the first ones were worn. Driving style is better described as spirited commuter. Would consider these tires nearly perfect for that.

I can depend on great dry braking and cornering...

I like the overall balance of features of these tires. I can depend on great dry braking and cornering. Gas mileage (30 mpg) is good with them. Noise is not as good as I would like but that has to consider sound proofing of the car itself. My mileage is very low because I am retired, and frugal about going out.

Comfortable, capable, and reasonably priced, these are an excellent choice for those looking for a well balanced and capable tire. Grip for a grand touring tire is excellent, steering feel is great, they are super quite, and incredibly comfortable. They helped add confidence to every drive and were and excellent replacement to my Continental PureContacts. I actually think they were a better all around tire. I was very happy with these tires.

...I rated the treadwear as a 9 out of 10 as it appears I will probably get 48K miles instead of the 50K promised. But pretty darn close!...

Tires are great! Smooth Ride. Very little road noise. I rated the treadwear as a 9 out of 10 as it appears I will probably get 48K miles instead of the 50K promised. But pretty darn close! While I was doing this review it appears TireRack is out of my size (Vredestein Quatrac Pro, 215/55R17, 98W, 2016 Honda Accord Sedan, v6). This is very disturbing if I get a nail in the tires that cannot be patched then I will be unable to purchase the same tire again.
