Baseline Suspension Settings for Club Spec Mustang (CSM)

(Lea en español)

The following notes are intended as a starting point for your Club Spec Mustang (CSM) autocross set-up. On most dry, clean autocross surfaces these settings will result in moderate understeer to a neutral balance during steady state cornering and predictable behavior in fast transitions. Competitors are encouraged to use the range of adjustability available from the CSM suspension to best match your driving style and course conditions.

Alignment Settings

A good place to start with air pressure is in the low- 30 psi range, depending on the wear you experience. Air pressure can be used to fine-tune the behavior of the vehicle to adjust for driver preference, and all adjustments should be made in 2 psi increments. It's tempting to drop air pressure while searching for more grip, but keep in mind this may lead to tire roll-over and rapid shoulder wear.

Front
Camber:-2.4 to -2.6 degrees.
Caster:Max. positive Approx. 5.5 to 6 degrees
Toe:Zero (1/16" out will promote turn-in, 1/16" in will help stability)

Rear
Camber:Solid axle, no adjustment
Toe:Solid axle, no adjustment

Suspension Settings

Front
Anti-roll bar:Start in the middle position. Use stiffer position if more mid-corner, rear stability is desired.
Koni Shock:1.5 full turns, increase if more transition response is desired. Decrease if you experience excessive understeer.

Note: Increasing the front anti-roll bar stiffness will increase corner entry and steady state understeer if desired.

Rear
Anti-roll bar:Non-adjustable
Koni Shock:1.25 full turns. Add turns if more transition response (or corner entry rotation) is desired, reduce turns if you desire a more stable rear feel.
