A sturdy tire rack that is easy to install. If the day comes that the rack is not needed, the side rails can be removed. Well made. I store winter tires for 370Z on the rack then store the summer tires on it during the winter. Rack accomodates two 10 inch wide tires and two 9 inch wide 19 inch tires with a few inches to spare.
Very easy to install and build quality is excellent. Only downside would be if it's installed too high, accessing the tires might be slightly more difficult due to the weight of tire and wheel combo. It's solid and looks durable. Great storage solution!
Just received the rack today and upon opening the box, I found the parts all wrapped nicely in felt. Very nicely packaged and instructions were extremely easy to follow. Assembly went great. Took longer to unwrap all the parts than it did to assemble the rack.
I have a 1.5 car garage and bought this product because storage was tight enough as is to have a stack of tires in the corner. I have one issue with the product about the quality which is why I did not rate it. I cant use the product because the lag screws snapped the heads off in my studs. I was surprised that 20 ft-Lbs of torque on a impact drill snapped the lag screws. Id advise getting some extra 1/4 x 2 3/8 lag screws. got to run to the hardware store now. Also a better idea is drive them in with the drill but leave an inch to drive by hand with wrench.
An excellent addition to my garage. The seasonal tires took valuable floor space even when stacked but now they are off the floor and out of the way. The 265/18 tires are certainly not the biggest tire out there but they fit in the rack with plenty of room to spare. Mounting was a one person (and I'm nearing 70) job. The mounting bolts could be upgraded but all of the other materials were super heavy duty and finished very nicely. I've had a lot of compliments since mounting it.
This is a good, sturdy, fairly priced product. The main drawback fro me - the bottom front edges are very sharp - accident waiting to happen! I almost bumped my head a few times. We ended up covering the edges with thick rubber foam to mitigate the impact of an accidental head bump.
Have purchased two of these tire racks to store two sets of "off-season" wheels/tires for our two vehicles. They have been mounted and then subsequently moved to a new residence. Easily adjusted within their width specifications to accommodate tires of various widths. For garages with limited floor space, they are a great solution and why they were initially purchased. Only reason I rated them as "Probable" purchase again was if you have sufficient garage space to stack your off-season wheels & tires vertically, that would save the effort of raising the mounted wheels/tires up to the racks on a ladder.
