The parts arrived compact and in one cardboard box. Every part is wrapped in protective plastic or paper. All the pieces are painted in a very durable textured black finish. The wall bracket holes are pre-drilled at 16" centers. After you are set to install the support rods, you should probably get a helper as it is a bit difficult to find the correct spacing for the tires in relation to the wall and have the tires are resting on the bottom two bars. Once it's hung and the tires are mounted, the rack makes for a nice addition to the garage or storage area. The best is that you can put about five or six performance tires or street tires on the rack and adjust the rack width without tools.

I bought this storage rack with my latest tire order on a whim. Floor space in my garage is constantly filling up with stuff and I wanted to get some tires off the floor where they get stacked in a corner. Installation was a breeze. I mounted the rack 6 inches from the ceiling and hefted up those tires. Now there is a nice big empty space on the floor. I am so impressed with this rack that I'm buying another today to store another set of tires off the floor. This thing is great. Do yourself a favor and get one (or two).

I've started autocrossing a car in a class with R-compound tires. Since the car is primarly in a "sunny day top-down" use profile (it's a convertible), I bought a second set of wheels and tires for racing. And my climate-controlled storage options were pretty much nonexistent. So I tried this.

It appears to be the same basic rack that a bunch of places sell, all for about the same price. Of course, this one has "tirerack.com" screened on it, so it's got that going for it. The construction and finishing is really good, I wouldn't have been surprised to find scratches, sharp welds, that kind of thing. But it's really well-made. The only thing quality-wise I don't like is the hardware, specifically the wall-mount lag screws. The BOM lists them as quarter-inch, but they're actually 5mm (0.20 inch), and they're soft. I snapped two of them, so I did what I reflexively wanted to do in the first place and substitute true quarter-inch pieces, and I went a half-inch longer (originals are 50mm, about two inches). I'd have probably used 5/16, if the holes in the bar would permit.

Anyway, once the wall bar is up it's easy to assemble. I've probably got a worst-case application - my tires are 285mm on 10-inch wheels front, and 335mm on 12-inch rear. I've got the inner spacing at 51.5 inches, against a stated maximum of 52. There's probably ~265 pounds on it, give or take, with the heavier wheels on the outboard sides. I've got about 3/8 inch of deflection in the cross rods at the middle; it's not much but it's a little weird to see. I'd probably have preferred a little thicker-walled rods.

So I think this works fine unless you've got an extreme case with wheel/tire combos wider than mine...maybe a recent Viper? I will probably buy another for my truck's snow tires; they're heavier, but also significantly narrower, so the bending moment on the rods should be less.

The tire rack storage system was easy to install and allowed me to organize my garage and regain the needed storage space. This rack exceeds the quality and price of brands I researched on Amazon. The installation took less than twenty minutes. My only complaint is with the tensil strength of the lag bolts. One bolt snapped as I tightened it to the main rail and wall stud. Other than that the rack is serving it's purpose, it gave me back some garage space and I'm pleased with the purchase and the products quality.

Installed this product today. Goes in very well and is easy to install assuming you have an impact driver to install the lag bolts. Looks good once installed. My only complaint is that the three cross bars bend with the weight of a single tire /wheel combination on it. With all 4 on it the bend was increased but still looks solid and doesn't appear to be getting worse. Would be nice if the cross bars were a fixed dimension and made from square tube that would support the load better and with less deflection than the round rod / tube design.

Great product - well made and easy to put together / mount. I would just let everyone know that you must leave at least 1/2" at the top of the mounting plate to allow the side pieces to fit into place. I made the mistake of mounting the product at the top of the wall and as a result I did not have the 1/2' needed to fit the sides pieces into place - I had to re mount the plate - loss of 30-40 min. So don't do it :-)

Excellent packaging. I had bought and returned twice on Amazon for the same tire rack (different color). Tire Rack really packages this product well. Each piece is individually wrapped and protected. With free shipping now, Tire Rack has the best price around. Installation was a breeze. Just make sure the studs in your wall are no more than 16" apart (minimum 5 fasteners into the wall required).
