The Trail-Terrain T/A is BFGoodrich's On-Road All-Terrain tire developed for drivers of crossovers and SUVs, Jeeps and pickup trucks who want a tire that is comfortable and capable on-road, but is also adventure-ready when they need it. Engineered to provide traction in dry, wet and loose surface conditions, the Trail-Terrain T/A features light snow traction sufficient to earn the tire industry's severe snow service certification and three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
The advanced all-season tread compound is engineered to resist chipping and tearing for occasional gravel and off-road use as well as provide dry, wet and wintry condition performance on-road. An optimized footprint helps distribute contact patch pressure to promote even tread wear and features closed shoulder elements to minimize airborne noise. The capable tread pattern features aggressive biting edges and generous void space on the inboard elements for powerful traction in loose surfaces and efficient hydroplaning resistance. Full-depth 3D sipes generate traction in slippery conditions like on wet and icy roads and help produce light snow traction that meets the tire industry's severe snow service requirements.
Internal Construction of the Trail-Terrain T/A consists of a robust, two-ply polyester casing engineered to provide comfort and reliability while maintaining a higher level of durability for occasional off-road use. Twin steel belts are wrapped with a single, nylon reinforcement ply to form a strong foundation with high-speed capabilities.
Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

...The Severe Snow (mountain symbol) rating is no joke - for snow, this is the best performing tire I've used on a 'non-off-roader' vehicle that wasn't a dedicated winter tire.
Living in northern Idaho we needed top-level snow performance, but due to using I-90 every day to get to town, needed to do it withOUT studs or chains. I've used BFG All-Terrain tires for years on my Jeeps, so putting these on my son's '06 RAV4 was an easy choice. ...Experienced an 8" mid Atlantic snowfall and they performed excellently on snow and ice covered roads as well as over the plow mounds and into the yard...
So far so good. Only have about 300 miles on the new tires, but have been very happy. Experienced an 8" mid Atlantic snowfall and they performed excellently both on snow and ice covered roads as well as over the plow mounds and into the yard. They're very quiet, have had great wet and dry traction and seem like a great improvement over the oem falken wild peaks that were on when purchased new.

...Dry traction seems to be very good so far...
I've only had these tires for a couple weeks. So far, they've exceeded my expectations. I can't speak to traction in rain and snow, as I don't drive this vehicle in either condition. Dry traction seems to be very good so far. Road noise is not much worse than the Goodyear Wranglers that were on the vehicle. And they definitely improve the appearance of the vehicle with the slightly more aggressive tread design.

I was concerned with the noise level of these tires with such aggressive tread, but I'm AMAZED at how quiet these are. The traction is great, they look awesome, and most of all, they're some of the quietest tires I've had on any of our Hondas. I'm a believer. 100% will buy again.

Great all around tires.
They’ve got the all terrain look, a ride that’s significantly improved over the alternative “soft” all terrain Geolandar G015s that I had on the car previously, a noise level that’s lower than a more serious all terrain tire like the BFG KO2, and excellent wear. Snow performance has been great this winter
A couple of notes though. Noise has increased somewhat in the first 15k miles but it’s still appropriate for a luxury SUV. Additionally, the softer ride does come at the cost of handling as my previous Yokohamas were more responsive. Feels like there’s a lot of flex in the sidewall in these tires. This can be good or bad depending on your driving style.
At the end of the day, these are a great alternative for those who want a middle ground between OEM style M/S tires and more serious all terrain tires like the BFG KO2. You get most the look and performance off the pavement at very little cost to refinement. I’ll be buying another set when these wear out.

...Responsive, smooth ride and quiet on highway...
At this point an excellent tire. Responsive, smooth ride and quiet on highway. Mounted and balanced well with very little tire runout. Only one complaint, blue coating on RWL is a bugger to get off.

I put 50,500 miles on the tires and still had 20-25% tread left...
I bought these tires based on a Review from TFL Truck and their northern lightning experience. These BFG Trail Terrain tires performed amazingly in every situation. I put 50,500 miles on the tires and still had 20-25% tread left. I did buy these tires again. And I have no problem referring or recommending these tires.

...After 25k miles they still looked new with no irregular tread wear... great wear...
I had a set of these put on my last Tacoma when I bought it. After 25k miles they still looked new with no irregular tread wear. So when buying tires for a package for the Tacoma I just bought these were a no brainer. Decent snow traction, great road manners, great wear. I used to always run BFG all terrains but at my age I just don’t want to listen to them anymore. These are perfect.
