The Trail-Terrain T/A is BFGoodrich's On-Road All-Terrain tire developed for drivers of crossovers and SUVs, Jeeps and pickup trucks who want a tire that is comfortable and capable on-road, but is also adventure-ready when they need it. Engineered to provide traction in dry, wet and loose surface conditions, the Trail-Terrain T/A features light snow traction sufficient to earn the tire industry's severe snow service certification and three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
The advanced all-season tread compound is engineered to resist chipping and tearing for occasional gravel and off-road use as well as provide dry, wet and wintry condition performance on-road. An optimized footprint helps distribute contact patch pressure to promote even tread wear and features closed shoulder elements to minimize airborne noise. The capable tread pattern features aggressive biting edges and generous void space on the inboard elements for powerful traction in loose surfaces and efficient hydroplaning resistance. Full-depth 3D sipes generate traction in slippery conditions like on wet and icy roads and help produce light snow traction that meets the tire industry's severe snow service requirements.
Internal Construction of the Trail-Terrain T/A consists of a robust, two-ply polyester casing engineered to provide comfort and reliability while maintaining a higher level of durability for occasional off-road use. Twin steel belts are wrapped with a single, nylon reinforcement ply to form a strong foundation with high-speed capabilities.
Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

I have good traction in the rain, and anyone who owns a pickup understands taking off from a red light in the rain. With these tires I do not get the spinning while trying to accelerate from the light. During highway driving in the rain, hydroplaning is not noticed...
I have owned BF Goodrich tires in the past and have not had a problem. The tires are on Ram 1500 short bed 4WD with 5.7L, (OEM tire Goodyear Wranglers), traction means everything. The BF tires are of same quality as what I have owned before. I have good traction in the rain, and anyone who owns a pickup understands taking off from a red light in the rain. With these tires I do not get the spinning while trying to accelerate from the light. During highway driving in the rain, hydroplaning is not noticed.
I have had the opportunity to use these on the beach, in the sand, I did not need to air down, had plenty of traction of course in 4WD.
Normal driving around town and highway, the tries are pleasant, these are somewhat an aggressive tire tread, very small amount of road noise is present, they are not as quite as highway tires, but the noise is minimal they do not sing like the old Mud and Snow tires with aggressive tread.
Overall I will purchase these tire again if and when need.

...I had no worries driving in the rain this past fall with them...
I've had my set of Trail Terrains for approx 15,000 miles now and they have been great! Very smooth and quiet on road, excellent in the 8" of snow this winter, and I had no worries driving in the rain this past fall with them. Overall a great tire!

The BFGoodrich Trail-Terrain T/A excels in snow and deep snow traction, with most customers scoring 9s and 10s. Ice traction shows strong 7-8 ratings, though a few lower scores suggest considering specific winter needs for optimal performance.

...Snow performance has been great this winter...
Great all around tires.
They’ve got the all terrain look, a ride that’s significantly improved over the alternative “soft” all terrain Geolandar G015s that I had on the car previously, a noise level that’s lower than a more serious all terrain tire like the BFG KO2, and excellent wear. Snow performance has been great this winter
A couple of notes though. Noise has increased somewhat in the first 15k miles but it’s still appropriate for a luxury SUV. Additionally, the softer ride does come at the cost of handling as my previous Yokohamas were more responsive. Feels like there’s a lot of flex in the sidewall in these tires. This can be good or bad depending on your driving style.
At the end of the day, these are a great alternative for those who want a middle ground between OEM style M/S tires and more serious all terrain tires like the BFG KO2. You get most the look and performance off the pavement at very little cost to refinement. I’ll be buying another set when these wear out.

Snow traction is all I care about when it comes to tires, well that and how awesome my vehicle looks with manly tires and these certainly fit the bill. I want aggressive tread and to make sure I can get to work no matter what the weather and the BFGoodrich Trail Terrains are up to the challenge. Most importantly they very closely match the all terrains I have on my truck so that is important too. Wrapped around 19" fake chrome GMC wheels, these tires are no match for the ladies.
A word of caution, I am now driving through yards and trails instead of roads as these aggressive tires beg for a challenge.

I live in the South, but still wanted a spare wheel/tire combo for Winter. Got these installed less than 24 hrs. before Memphis' first snow, this season. I had no doubt they would be superior to my standard set. If my truck were 4WD, I would just leave them on, year-round. Very pleased.

...The dry traction, mainly on the road, is nothing short of exceptional (bearing in mind this is not a performance tire.) Straight acceleration, braking, and cornering, even under a load (towing a trailer), are all great. The ONLY shortcoming of dry traction is when I am trying to pull out quickly into moving traffic and I am also turning...
As a road-going, and off-roading tire, the Trail-Terrain T/A does its job. Normal street driving is what this tire sees the most. Under the combined stresses of highway and city traffic, different weather conditions, towing, hard cornering and braking, and of course, off-roading, there still isn't much I have to say that isn't outstandingly positive thus far. The dry traction, mainly on the road, is nothing short of exceptional (bearing in mind this is not a performance tire.) Straight acceleration, braking, and cornering, even under a load (towing a trailer), are all great. The ONLY shortcoming of dry traction is when I am trying to pull out quickly into moving traffic and I am also turning. My front-wheel drive car hops around briefly for traction, which no doubt loses me some valuable speed and time I could have used to join traffic. My car is not very powerful and didn't have this issue with the much more street-oriented Continental Pro-Contact tires I had before. This hasn't compromised my safety, or anyone else's, but it is worth noting. Aside from that minor flaw, this tire is very well-rounded. When searching for an all-terrain type tire, you most likely aren't looking for outstanding cornering and amazing grip even when the gas pedal is to the floor. I am unstoppable when it's raining. The massive amount of tread means that no puddles, wash-outs, or even downpours can hinder my driving. Hydroplaning has met its match. The amount of tread really is massive, especially for a Mazda 3 sedan. I am almost 10k miles into these tires and the tread rises vast millimeters above the wear line. Not like I should care given what car I drive, but for what it's worth, the off-road performance is all I could have asked for. Rocks, gravel, sand, and dirt are the strong suit of this tire. Just don't add too much water. These aren't mudders, don't ask me how I know. As for ice and snow, they are very capable. I'll update this page as I drive more. Happy driving!

I was concerned with the noise level of these tires with such aggressive tread, but I'm AMAZED at how quiet these are. The traction is great, they look awesome, and most of all, they're some of the quietest tires I've had on any of our Hondas. I'm a believer. 100% will buy again.

...Second, more importantly, they are VERY quiet for a truck tire and provide a noticeably smoother ride...
I've only had these for a couple of weeks, but reviews are scarce and I'm going to add an 'early use' one. The OE Goodyear Wrangler Kevlar's were showing about 3/4 treadwear @ 26,150 miles -- not good for an upcoming northern Wisconsin winter. I purchased these after watching several videos and reading some online reviews. First, a minor point, they look good on my Colorado - 'fitting' for a 4X4. Second, more importantly, they are VERY quiet for a truck tire and provide a noticeably smoother ride. Next, I drove home on wet pavement today and grip seemed good, although the back end kicked out a bit during a 'spirited' left turn at an intersection - but that is with an unloaded cargo bed. Finally, the ultimate test will be when the snow flies - I leave for work at 3:00 AM and many local roads are not yet plowed...will update after the experience.

I bought these tires based on a Review from TFL Truck and their northern lightning experience. These BFG Trail Terrain tires performed amazingly in every situation. I put 50,500 miles on the tires and still had 20-25% tread left. I did buy these tires again. And I have no problem referring or recommending these tires.

...It has more tread depth than the Goodyear's did and I believe I'll get the 60,000 miles out of them as they're rated, where as the Good years I was getting right at 50,000 out of them...
I’ve had my 05 Gr Cherokee since new and gone through three sets of tires with Goodyear over the years that were OE tires. This time I was at the Goodyear store and they told me that my OE tires no longer available so I thought I’d try that BF Goodrich Trail TA for the first time. I’ve never had BF Goodridge till now and love them! I was pleasantly surprised it’s quieter than the Goodyear‘s. It has more tread depth than the Goodyear‘s did and I believe I’ll get the 60,000 miles out of them as they’re rated., where as the Good years I was getting right at 50,000 out of them . So if I finally wear these out in 60,000 miles I definitely will buy another set of BF Goodrich again! This also was the first time I’ve used tire rack and they were delivered in two days as advertised was very impressed by the UPS ground service in here in Florida. We have lots of places that will install third-party tires at no problem!
