The Trail-Terrain T/A is BFGoodrich's On-Road All-Terrain tire developed for drivers of crossovers and SUVs, Jeeps and pickup trucks who want a tire that is comfortable and capable on-road, but is also adventure-ready when they need it. Engineered to provide traction in dry, wet and loose surface conditions, the Trail-Terrain T/A features light snow traction sufficient to earn the tire industry's severe snow service certification and three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

The advanced all-season tread compound is engineered to resist chipping and tearing for occasional gravel and off-road use as well as provide dry, wet and wintry condition performance on-road. An optimized footprint helps distribute contact patch pressure to promote even tread wear and features closed shoulder elements to minimize airborne noise. The capable tread pattern features aggressive biting edges and generous void space on the inboard elements for powerful traction in loose surfaces and efficient hydroplaning resistance. Full-depth 3D sipes generate traction in slippery conditions like on wet and icy roads and help produce light snow traction that meets the tire industry's severe snow service requirements.

Internal Construction of the Trail-Terrain T/A consists of a robust, two-ply polyester casing engineered to provide comfort and reliability while maintaining a higher level of durability for occasional off-road use. Twin steel belts are wrapped with a single, nylon reinforcement ply to form a strong foundation with high-speed capabilities.

Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

Popular Tires for America's Most Popular Vehicles – 2025 Test 8 - With Winter Update(39:51)

The Crossover, or CUV, is hands-down the most popular vehicle in America. Last year in our CUV test, we used the Alfa Romeo Stelvio to test all-season and all-weather touring tires. This year, the field expanded to include all-terrain and performance truck products, representing the full range of tires drivers are installing on these vehicles. Obviously, with a test this diverse, it’s not so much about which one tire rises to the top, but rather how each category brings its own strengths to the table. When comparing multiple tires from one category, it's how they stack up against each other. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy Test 8!

I was a little worried about the reviews concerning the wet traction and hydroplaning, however after driving thru recent wet, ponding and even flooded roads I am going to put them in the category of the slowest Olympian is still an Olympian! I was extremely cautious at first, based on poor wet traction reviews, waiting to find the limit at which they started losing traction or hydroplaning. I kept getting more and more comfortable as the tires were showing no loss of traction or hydroplaning during and after an all-out deluge of rain driving at a normal speed for conditions...

I only have close to 3000 miles on them, but I must say so far, I am impressed. I was a little worried about the reviews concerning the wet traction and hydroplaning, however after driving thru recent wet, ponding and even flooded roads I am going to put them in the category of the slowest Olympian is still an Olympian! I've driven many miles on many brands in my 47 years on the road. I was extremely cautious at first, based on poor wet traction reviews, waiting to find the limit at which they started losing traction or hydroplaning. I kept getting more and more comfortable as the tires were showing no loss of traction or hydroplaning during and after an all-out deluge of rain driving at a normal speed for conditions. So, if you're on the fence due to wet traction concerns, don't be. If you drive like you have some sense, you'll be fine. I was also very impressed with the excellent quick turn in. I decided to buy them after seeing them in person and I am very happy with my purchase. I supported my local small shop so this purchase probably will not be verified. Jeff in PA.

...We did have some snow days and the tires perform spectacularly on the snow and on the ice where necessary...

I appreciate the tires. It was a solid purchase and they seem to operate exactly as advertised I've yet to take them off-road. I'm sure I can give feedback on that once I do. It just hasn't been something I've been able to do yet. We did have some snow days and the tires perform spectacularly on the snow and on the ice where necessary.

I also would like to say though it was no fault of tire rack my tire delivery was delayed because of a FedEx driver. Tire rack address this situation. Solved it. And left me a satisfied customer. I will be using tire rack for tire purchases moving forward.

...The grip is great in dry conditions...

These tires are quite and ride great. The grip is great in dry conditions. I have these tires on my 2017 Tacoma and I find the tires are very slick in wet weather. From a dead stop in the rain, I have to accelerate very gently or the tires will spin. I was accelerating on an interstate on ramp in the rain and I could head the tires spinning as I was trying to accelerate. And I was not pushing it hard. I would probably not buy these tires again because of the poor wet traction.

I think these are one of the best all around truck tire. I am a big fan of A/T tires especially the TKO'S and I think these tires are a nice trade off if you do a little more highway driving like me and want a little more comfort in the ride.
