Customers overwhelmingly rate wet traction 9-10, praising confident grip in rain. While most report excellent performance, some scores 0-6 note occasional hydroplaning concerns, though these are less common.

...I had no worries driving in the rain this past fall with them...
I've had my set of Trail Terrains for approx 15,000 miles now and they have been great! Very smooth and quiet on road, excellent in the 8" of snow this winter, and I had no worries driving in the rain this past fall with them. Overall a great tire!

Customers report confident snow and deep snow performance with scores mostly 8-10, though ice traction shows mixed results with some ratings between 0-6. Most praise winter capabilities but note variability on icy surfaces.

...The Severe Snow (mountain symbol) rating is no joke - for snow, this is the best performing tire I've used on a 'non-off-roader' vehicle that wasn't a dedicated winter tire.
Living in northern Idaho we needed top-level snow performance, but due to using I-90 every day to get to town, needed to do it withOUT studs or chains. I've used BFG All-Terrain tires for years on my Jeeps, so putting these on my son's '06 RAV4 was an easy choice. The Severe Snow (mountain symbol) rating is no joke - for snow, this is the best performing tire I've used on a 'non-off-roader' vehicle that wasn't a dedicated winter tire.

...In fresh snow they are excellent. As things warm and you get a thin layer of moisture on compact snow or ice they are a little less effective. The Trail Terrains are less aggressive than BFG All Terrains but do just fine for my uses...
These tires are pretty new to the market so I couldn't find any reviews on them. Local store said I was their first purchase.
I replaced the original Goodyears which were marginal in snow with these BFG Trail Terrains on my 2017 F150 Super Crew 4x4. I wanted winter snow and ice traction for skiing without sacrificing ride comfort, road noise or mpg. I wasn't sure what to expect for snow traction but the specs and write up seemed to fit my requirements. As it turned out they work very well for me. They are ok on ice but without studs or super soft compound there aren't many I'd call "good" for ice. I drive snowy mountain highways often. Occasionally they are unplowed and fairly deep snow (6"- 12+"). In fresh snow they are excellent. As things warm and you get a thin layer of moisture on compact snow or ice they are a little less effective. The Trail Terrains are definitely less aggressive than BFG All Terrains (which I had on my F250) but do just fine for my uses. Best of all they are not noisy like the AT's are. I only have about 1500 miles on them so really can't speak to durability.
The only negative with the Trail Terrains is the decrease in mpg. I have been averaging about .5 to 1.0 mpg less with these than the original tires. I'm guessing the mpg decrease is due to increased rolling resistance.
All in all I'm very pleased and would absolutely recommend these tires to someone with similar driving requirements.

...Dry traction seems to be very good so far...
I've only had these tires for a couple weeks. So far, they've exceeded my expectations. I can't speak to traction in rain and snow, as I don't drive this vehicle in either condition. Dry traction seems to be very good so far. Road noise is not much worse than the Goodyear Wranglers that were on the vehicle. And they definitely improve the appearance of the vehicle with the slightly more aggressive tread design.

...Additionally, the softer ride does come at the cost of handling as my previous Yokohamas were more responsive. Feels like there's a lot of flex in the sidewall in these tires...
Great all around tires.
They’ve got the all terrain look, a ride that’s significantly improved over the alternative “soft” all terrain Geolandar G015s that I had on the car previously, a noise level that’s lower than a more serious all terrain tire like the BFG KO2, and excellent wear. Snow performance has been great this winter
A couple of notes though. Noise has increased somewhat in the first 15k miles but it’s still appropriate for a luxury SUV. Additionally, the softer ride does come at the cost of handling as my previous Yokohamas were more responsive. Feels like there’s a lot of flex in the sidewall in these tires. This can be good or bad depending on your driving style.
At the end of the day, these are a great alternative for those who want a middle ground between OEM style M/S tires and more serious all terrain tires like the BFG KO2. You get most the look and performance off the pavement at very little cost to refinement. I’ll be buying another set when these wear out.

...I was pleasantly surprised it's quieter than the Goodyear's...
I’ve had my 05 Gr Cherokee since new and gone through three sets of tires with Goodyear over the years that were OE tires. This time I was at the Goodyear store and they told me that my OE tires no longer available so I thought I’d try that BF Goodrich Trail TA for the first time. I’ve never had BF Goodridge till now and love them! I was pleasantly surprised it’s quieter than the Goodyear‘s. It has more tread depth than the Goodyear‘s did and I believe I’ll get the 60,000 miles out of them as they’re rated., where as the Good years I was getting right at 50,000 out of them . So if I finally wear these out in 60,000 miles I definitely will buy another set of BF Goodrich again! This also was the first time I’ve used tire rack and they were delivered in two days as advertised was very impressed by the UPS ground service in here in Florida. We have lots of places that will install third-party tires at no problem!

At this point an excellent tire. Responsive, smooth ride and quiet on highway. Mounted and balanced well with very little tire runout.
Only one complaint, blue coating on RWL is a bugger to get off.

I bought these tires based on a Review from TFL Truck and their northern lightning experience. These BFG Trail Terrain tires performed amazingly in every situation. I put 50,500 miles on the tires and still had 20-25% tread left. I did buy these tires again. And I have no problem referring or recommending these tires.
