The Destination LE3 is Firestone's Highway All-Season tire developed for drivers of light trucks, Crossovers, and SUVs looking for year round traction. Designed to deliver a quiet and comfortable ride, the Destination LE3 offers a long treadlife and confidence in inclement weather, including light snow.
The Destination LE3 features an advanced rubber compound molded into a symmetric tread design focused on delivering a smooth ride and precise clear road handling. Utilizing Firestone's TractionTech package, the Destination LE3 employs full-depth tread features that help retain consistent performance as the tire wears. Firestone's Hydro-Grip technology, which includes open shoulder slots and an optimized tread pattern, helps the Destination LE3 slice through water, reducing hydroplaning and aiding wet traction. An enhanced tread design uses full-depth 3D sipes providing confidence in winter conditions.
The internal structure is comprised of a polyester casing mated to two steel belts for durability, and a nylon reinforcement that further increases high speed stability.

In our seventh tire test of the year, we took nine Highway All-Season tires to the street, test track, and into wintery conditions to see how they stacked up. The Highway All-Season category is a staple for trucks and large SUVs, combining the weight load limits needed with touring tire manners. If your driving experience keeps to paved and packed gravel surfaces, the Highway All-Season category is for you!
Ratings highlight excellence in dry traction with consistent 9-10 scores, praised for sharp cornering and responsive handling. Wet traction earns strong 8-10 marks, showing reliable grip and hydroplaning resistance. Comfort receives positive feedback for ride quality (7-10), though some note occasional road noise. Treadwear scores vary widely (3-10), with many appreciating durability but a few reporting faster wear than expected. As a max performance summer tire, it excels in its intended roles-dry and wet handling-while balancing comfort for daily use. High satisfaction centers on precise control, though noise and treadlife inconsistencies are minor tradeoffs for performance-focused drivers.

...Did one track day in the wet and was amazed at the amount of grip!...
I have a Focus ST with a full stage 3 engine package, suspension package and upgraded brakes. I belong to the local ST club and we do spirited mountain runs, track days and autocross. Since this car is also my DD I was going to go with the F1's but due to a mistake by my local tire store I ended up with these (long story). I have to say that these tires are amazing! I hold a competition license and race a vintage car and at Road Atlanta, a very high speed and technical race track the tires are nothing short of amazing. Very communicative at the limit and amazing grip. Did one track day in the wet and was amazed at the amount of grip! The ride on the road is smoother than the F1's and after all the track time, a autocross and two mountain runs, they hardly show any wear. Beware that these tires need about 500 miles of break-in! I thought here was something wrong but after a few heat cycles, they heat up quick and stick like glue. They are costly but I will definitely replace these with a new set.

Love this tire. I have about 3,000 miles on my car and they are fantastic. Sharp handling, decent ride and good wet traction. They're noisy, however. Not surprising since they are very low profile, as well as wide and sticky. I'm glad that Ford offers summer tires as an option on the Focus, I always buy a set of winter tires for my small cars anyway, so I'm glad I can enjoy summer tires with superior handling in the summer. I won't expect anything more than 20,000 miles out of them which is OK. Will definitely buy them again, this is the first time in awhile that Ford has offered an OEM tire that I actually liked!

...I have zero complaint on how it handles in wet / dry conditions...
I'm 4000 miles past what I was told I would get and I still have 2000 miles before I should really consider replacing. I like this tire even if I don't drive the way the tire / car was designed to drive. The tires seems pretty quiet on the highway. I have zero complaint on how it handles in wet / dry conditions. If I had anything to say, it would be as the tires get worn, I find they are a bit harder to control when you drive is a road with some rutting. The car likes to track in the ruts so you have to fight it sometimes. I keep the tires at proper inflation all the time and rotate at every oil change (about 5000 miles). I will be buying the same tire again as I have no need for an all season tire living in central Florida.

...Comfort wise, it is better. Going over bumps is smoother and quieter. I guess michelin does this best...
Bought this tire when it was first launched, as I wanted to compare it to the GoodYear F1 GSD3 that was currently on the car. This will be based on a comparison with GSD3.
First impression was that the side walls was softer. The tire grip was still there, but give me the lack of confidence as there will be a bit of under steer.
Comfort wise, it is better. Going over bumps is smoother and quieter. I guess michelin does this best.
In really wet conditions, it will still aquaplane more. The difference is definitely noticeable, but will still feel in control. Wet braking is good.
Overall, this tire sacrifices a bit of performance for comfort. But no doubt, this is one of the best tires in this price range!

I bought a 2014 Focus with a wheel/suspension package with this tire. I feel it offers good comfort as it isn't loud or overly firm. It also has helped to maintain the Focus's fuel mileage. I still manage better than 38mpg on the highway with this sized tire. Good job Michelin!

This tire was night and day from what my 1998 Saleen S351 was using. The ride comfort improved significantly in conjunction with the steering response in sharp corners. My car rode more quitely and smoothly since switching to the Michelin PS3 tires. I would highly recommend them as a replacement over any other brand.
