The Trail-Terrain T/A is BFGoodrich's On-Road All-Terrain tire developed for drivers of crossovers and SUVs, Jeeps and pickup trucks who want a tire that is comfortable and capable on-road, but is also adventure-ready when they need it. Engineered to provide traction in dry, wet and loose surface conditions, the Trail-Terrain T/A features light snow traction sufficient to earn the tire industry's severe snow service certification and three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

The advanced all-season tread compound is engineered to resist chipping and tearing for occasional gravel and off-road use as well as provide dry, wet and wintry condition performance on-road. An optimized footprint helps distribute contact patch pressure to promote even tread wear and features closed shoulder elements to minimize airborne noise. The capable tread pattern features aggressive biting edges and generous void space on the inboard elements for powerful traction in loose surfaces and efficient hydroplaning resistance. Full-depth 3D sipes generate traction in slippery conditions like on wet and icy roads and help produce light snow traction that meets the tire industry's severe snow service requirements.

Internal Construction of the Trail-Terrain T/A consists of a robust, two-ply polyester casing engineered to provide comfort and reliability while maintaining a higher level of durability for occasional off-road use. Twin steel belts are wrapped with a single, nylon reinforcement ply to form a strong foundation with high-speed capabilities.

Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

Related Information: What is the three-peak mountain snowflake symbol (3PMSF)?

Popular Tires for America's Most Popular Vehicles – 2025 Test 8 - With Winter Update(39:51)

The Crossover, or CUV, is hands-down the most popular vehicle in America. Last year in our CUV test, we used the Alfa Romeo Stelvio to test all-season and all-weather touring tires. This year, the field expanded to include all-terrain and performance truck products, representing the full range of tires drivers are installing on these vehicles. Obviously, with a test this diverse, it’s not so much about which one tire rises to the top, but rather how each category brings its own strengths to the table. When comparing multiple tires from one category, it's how they stack up against each other. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy Test 8!

Great wet traction and ride comfort with these tires on the Ford F-150. The wet weather traction is a key requirement for our frequent thunderstorms, especially in the spring and fall.

Great wet traction and ride comfort with these tires on the Ford F-150.
We have had a long positive experience with Michelin tires and these are no exception.
I would happily recommend these tires for the type of combined city/highway and very occasional off road driving we do here on the Gulf Coast.
The wet weather traction is a key requirement for our frequent thunderstorms, especially in the spring and fall.

...These tires were not only able to get her to work and back but we're able to keep moving while other 4x4's were stuck in the road...

Was going to wait to review this tire until I had about 10000 miles on them to review but after today I figured today was the worst they would see. I'm in western ny and this weekend we received 4+ feet of snow my wife being from Florida and not really ever driving through a blizzard before had to work as a essential worker even with driving bands. These tires were not only able to get her to work and back but we're able to keep moving while other 4x4's were stuck in the road. Up until then we have towed our camper into camp witch is off-road on a steep dirt road and they preformed amazing not slipping or sponging at all. I don't have enough mileage on them to rate the wear but seem to be doing great even with all the towing we do. I would say noise level is minimal to none existent. Overall after today I give these tires a 11 out of 10 would highly recommend them to anyone!!

...These tires are the best handling, quietest smoothest riding tire on dry pavement while delivering superior winter traction for all my needs.

I have run the Michelin M&S LTX(99Tacoma) then the Defender M&S LTX(2019 Ford Ranger) and now the Defender M&S LTX2 on 2024 Tacoma. Live in northern New Brunswick Canada run these tires on my trucks summer and winter. These tires are the best handling, quietest smoothest riding tire on dry or wet pave while delivering superior winter traction for all my needs.. The only tire I would have on my trucks....

I haul cars for a living so I am loaded with 15-20k lbs just about everyday. These tires wore pretty evenly and I only rotated these tires once. I probably could have gotten even more miles out of them if I did my due maintenance but I am not upset. They got me through Northeast PA and upstate NY driving. Our roads in PA are terrible and NY state isn’t much better. So impressed I am buying another set. Worth the cost in my book.

Love these tires. Currently have 3rd set on my 92 Toyota 4x4 pickup. Previous sets ran 72,000 and 75,000 miles.
Have approximately 7000 miles on the set on our 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
Purchased a 2015 Toyota Tacoma Crew Cab 4x4 about 10 months ago. Replaced the Bridgestone tires on it after a few
months with Michelin LTX MS2. It has been on several road trips now. This tire has performed great on all of our vehicles.
They ride and handle great! They are quiet and with proper care and maintenance will run a lot of miles.
I would buy these tires again!
