The Ecopia EP422 Plus is one of Bridgestone's Grand Touring All-Season tires developed for the drivers of coupes, sedans, minivans and small crossover vehicles looking for more tire life per gallon by delivering longer wear and better handling. Designed to enhance vehicle fuel economy by reducing tire rolling resistance along with the vehicle's carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, Ecopia EP422 Plus tires deliver year-round, all-season traction, even in light snow.
The Ecopia EP422 Plus uses an enhanced all-season tread compound featuring Bridgestone's unique NanoPro-Tech (Nanostructure-Oriented Properties Control Technology) to reduce rolling resistance and energy loss while maintaining dry, wet and wintertime traction. This compound is molded into a symmetric tread design that combines notched shoulders and intermediate ribs with independent center blocks for dry road tracking and traction. Four circumferential grooves are designed to help water flow from under the footprint to resist hydroplaning and enhance wet traction while notches and sipes increase the edges that bite into light snow. The tire's sidewalls feature Bridgestone's Fuel Saver compound to further increase efficiency.
The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon on top of a polyester casing to blend ride comfort and durability.

Tires have been wearing very well and relatively good wet handling here in South Florida. My son has put about 4,000 miles on them in about a year.

Really nice so far. Got these for my girlfriend for Christmas I installed them and drove the car home. I immediately noticed how quiet and soft riding the tire was. Really good traction in the wet as well.

Most customers give excellent dry traction scores, with many 9s and 10s. The Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus delivers responsive handling and reliable grip, performing superbly in its Grand Touring All-Season category. A few lower ratings exist but don't overshadow strong dry-road performance.

...These tires grip extremely well and I am unable to make the tires squeal rounding corners or turns regardless of speed. They remain firmly planted and the driving feel of the road is actually quite enjoyable...
I purchased these tires for a 2005 Toyota Camry due to the close-out pricing, but the ratings as stated were encouraging and sealed the deal. This is an older vehicle, but I maintain it well - new KYB shocks with OE springs and strut mounts, properly aligned, with all suspension and steering components being replaced as required with top-end or OE components and regularly inspected and lubricated as needed by me at oil change intervals and tire rotations. I also have front top and lower aftermarket strut bars to enhance handling capabilities of the sedan. Keep this in mind when reading other reviews for these tires: does the person actually have bad tires, or do they fail to maintain their vehicle properly?
These tires grip extremely well and I am unable to make the tires "squeal" rounding corners or turns regardless of speed. They remain firmly planted and the driving feel of the road is actually quite enjoyable. Despite being grippy, I would expect them to be soft and wear quickly, but so far at around 7500 miles into them, they are hardly wearing at all. The road noise on city and interstate travel is minimal at worst. Steering and handling is responsive.
I do live in a desert, however, so my driving conditions are nearly always dry with no snow. If and when I am able to drive them in wet conditions, I will consider an update, and I will monitor tire wear are mileage markers. However: if your car is reasonably well maintained, then I believe these tires are worth the money.

...When it comes to dry traction, I have to say that these tires are fantastic. Not just good for it's price point or category, but good in general. I've exploited the grip these tires have on many occasions, and while they aren't super sticky, they grip well and are predictable when giving up...
These tires came OEM on my Mazda, and so far have held up fairly well over the past 1.5 years/36,000 miles. I've been fairly bad about rotating them; rotated them once at 10K, then again at 30K. Even so, there's still plenty of tread left on the fronts.
In regards to wet and snow traction, I'd say these do alright. They're not snow tires, but I was never worried about hydroplaning or skidding off the road due to snowfall. I lived in Northern Missouri for awhile, and even with 4" of snow on the ground, these tires exceeded my expectations.
When it comes to dry traction, I have to say that these tires are fantastic. Not just good for it's price point or category, but good in general. I've exploited the grip these tires have on many occasions, and while they aren't super sticky, they grip well and are predictable when giving up. I autocrossed my 3 on two occasions with these tires, and I've been very competitive, getting the same times as an RX-8 with RE-11's (they were my first two events, so I won't say that my amazing driving skills were the reason). For a set of low-rolling resistance All-Seasons, they're amazing.
Overall, I've been very impressed with these tires, and while I plan on purchasing an extra set of wheels and having a set of both summer and winter tires, I would definitely purchase these tires again, if fuel economy was a high priority of mine.

...Dry handling is great, smooth, comfortable, responsive, no issues of note...
I’ve had great experiences so far, it’s been a particularly rainy winter here in Florida, so I’ve been able to test them in both wet and dry conditions. Dry handling is great, smooth, comfortable, responsive, no issues of note. Wet handling is slightly worse but not awful, I haven’t experienced any hydroplaning, but I can feel some loss of grip during acceleration. This isn’t any worse than any other sets of tires I’ve used though, it’s simply average in this regard.

...My remaining treadwear is 4/32nds at 90,000 miles and I might go down to 2/32nds (giving me 120,000 miles) if it happens during the summer or fall months of next year before winter. I really can't speak to the handling characteristics of the tires. I just know that they have good treadwear and are quiet tires, which is exactly what I am looking for...
These tires came original on my Avalon in August 2019. At first, I was disappointed that Toyota did not provide my favorite Michelin Defender tires; however, I have been pleased with the Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus tires. I am 74 years old and drive very conservatively, including slow starts and coasting to half speed before stops. I personally rotate my own tires every 5,000 miles and they have exactly the same wear on all 4 grooves of all 4 tires. So far, I have still not taken them in for a balance or an alignment. My remaining treadwear is 4/32nds at 90,000 miles and I might go down to 2/32nds (giving me 120,000 miles) if it happens during the summer or fall months of next year before winter. I really can't speak to the handling characteristics of the tires. I just know that they have good treadwear and are quiet tires, which is exactly what I am looking for. I will probably be switching my replacement preference from the Michelin Defenders to this tire (Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus) with the next tire change!

...Slips and slides in light snow...
Terrible tread life. Slips and slides in light snow. Had to buy new tires and within a year and I have snow tires so they really only lasted 6 months with rotation and alignment. Would never recommend.

...In snow is where the problem is. They get snow-packed quite easily (due to the tread) and even when new, they could get packed with snow and slip...
After putting 55,000 on these tires over 4.5 years, here is my experience.... On dry payvement with good treadlife (say 4/32 or more) they are fine. On wet pavement they can squeal but are OK. In snow is where the problem is. They get snow-packed quite easily (due to the tread) and even when new, they could get packed with snow and slip. So if you don't live in an area with snow, then these could be a decent tire. I was able t oget 55k miles out of mine, which is probably the max I would run these (mine are starting to dry-rot and crack and will be replaced very soon) and the tread gets rather hard as they age (part of that might be due to the fact they are a 70k mile tire). So, if with that I wouldn't necessarily recommend these though unless (a) you live where there is no snow, or (b) you get a very good deal on them (like $150 per tire or less. Otherwise there are better options for the same price. Just realize that you can expect a realistic life of about 50,000 miles on these. I went to 55k but that was probably too much (they are borderlined dangerous at this point and the tread is actually starting to com off the tire, hence they need to be replaced).

These came with a new car, did rotations on time, didn't even last 7k before tread was worn 8/32 after gentle driving. Sidewall burst on tires. They also slid three times in a row in snow season, so not "all season" as described. There was barely any of the "s" in the M+S.
