The Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD09 is Yokohama's Extreme Performance Summer tire engineered for drivers seeking true race-inspired technology and track-level performance in a street-capable tire. The ADVAN Neova AD09 has its roots in motorsports and circuit racing and is engineered to provide agile handling with excellent dry grip, fast lap times, and consistent performance both on the track and street.

Note: Like all Extreme Performance Summer tires, Yokohama's ADVAN Neova AD09 is not intended to be serviced, stored or driven in near-and-below-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD09 Callouts

The Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD09 is molded into an optimized, asymmetric pattern with large outboard tread blocks for enhanced responsiveness, dry cornering grip, and confident high-speed handling. A strong center rib provides solid on-center feel and responsive steering for quick transitions between straight-line sprints and high-speed cornering. The inboard tread section, with a full depth, curved circumferential groove, and deep lateral grooves perform in concert with an all-new high silica compound to mitigate hydroplaning and deliver improved traction in wet conditions.

The internal construction of the Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD09 consists of two wide steel belts atop a two-ply polyester casing with a high turn-up, resulting in a rigid, three-ply polyester sidewall. Two nylon reinforcement plies further stabilize the tread to provide high-speed handling and durability.

CAUTION:NEVER store or use below -10℃(14℉)as this may damage tire and impede performance.

Yokohama ADVAN NEOVA AD09 Reviews

Reviews highlight excellence in dry traction, with drivers praising exceptional grip, precise steering response, and confidence during track days, autocross, and HPDE events. Wet performance receives positive marks for predictable handling in light rain, though some note reduced traction in standing water. Treadwear draws mixed feedback-many appreciate durability through multiple heat cycles and track sessions, while others report premature wear or chunking under aggressive use. Enthusiasts value the AD09's balance of track-focused performance and street usability, though its true strengths shine in dry, high-demand driving scenarios where consistent grip and communication are paramount.

...They handled wet driving conditions without issue as well (had quite a rainstorm driving back from the TNIA event the following day)...

I've used these tires for 1 autocross season, 1 SCCA Track Night in America event, and some around town driving in between. These have great traction and responsiveness on a light vehicle. I'm not the fastest autocrosser, but I liked how these felt overall in most events, with a great degree of predictability. I didn't feel compromised with these in city driving either. They handled wet driving conditions without issue as well (had quite a rainstorm driving back from the TNIA event the following day). A solid choice all-around.

Haven't fully used them yet. The final two tires arrived just in he day before the event to get mounted (Mt. Ascutney Hillclmb). It was a rainy weekend and there was moss on the road and it was foggy, so I didn't really push the Yokos, but they felt stabile and gave good traction in the wet. Looking forward to evaluating them in the dry.

Extremely pleased with the AD09s so far. They gripped very well in the wet, and phenomenal on dry pavement. Every bit as good as the more expensive OEM tires but better in the wet and cold.

...They take a lap to get some heat in them and then they just straight HOOK. They seem to grip in corners on the track just as well as cup 2's for less money...

I’ve done 2 track days on this tire for a total of about 2 hours on track. Both days it was 95 degrees or more. They take a lap to get some heat in them and then they just straight HOOK. They seem to grip in corners on the track just as well as cup 2’s for less money. Wear looks good after 2 track days. On my second track day on the last session you could tell they were starting to get that greasy feel and become over heated.

I haven’t driven them on the street, just the track. They go on the car, car goes on trailer and gets pulled to track days. So I can’t really comment on their manners as a street tire but as a HPDE tire they do really well and I think I’ll probably end up buying another set once these are toast.

...Turn in is sharper and feedback is stronger as a result of the stiffer side wall most likely. I ran my normal coastal roads at the same pace I would with the Cup 2s and get the same level of grip and feedback...

This is one of the only tire options available for the 991.2 GT3 that aren't the Cup2s. Driving around town, the AD09 and the Cup2 are very comparable with the AD09 being ever so slightly harsher on medium impact road undulations. Turn in is sharper and feedback is stronger as a result of the stiffer side wall most likely. I ran my normal coastal roads at the same pace I would with the Cup 2s and get the same level of grip and feedback. I observed no weaknesses in this tire for average day to day driving compared to the OEM Michelin. Now for the track.. I run the car in group 4/TT and have raced for years. This tire is likely 1, maybe 2 seconds slower a lap than the Cup 2 but I would argue that's only relevant if you're trying to set a qualifying lap. Where this tire shines is in it's consistency and how well it holds up to abuse. I'd wager that the average group 3/4 driver is quicker with this tire since you don't have adjust for the performance fall off the way you do with a Cup2. If you were comparing average lap times over a session, I bet the AD09 wins. I will say, this thing wears like iron compared to the Cup2s. After a 10 sessions on track, no graining, cupping, wear spots or appreciable reduction in tread.. nothing. Conversely, I could easily wreck some Cup2s in a weekend. End of the day, some drivers will notice the slight reduction in absolute overall grip but I think this tire makes up for it in price, consistency, wear rate on the track and usability on the road. If you absolutely need the best lap times than you should be probably looking at a Hoosier anyway.

Treadwear receives strong praise, with many scoring 8-10 for excellent durability through multiple track days and heat cycles. Users highlight lasting 10+ track sessions with minimal wear, outperforming expectations for a 200TW tire. Some note quicker wear under extreme use but view it as typical for the category, emphasizing the AD09's endurance-focused design and impressive lifespan when used as intended.
