The Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD09 is Yokohama's Extreme Performance Summer tire engineered for drivers seeking true race-inspired technology and track-level performance in a street-capable tire. The ADVAN Neova AD09 has its roots in motorsports and circuit racing and is engineered to provide agile handling with excellent dry grip, fast lap times, and consistent performance both on the track and street.

Note: Like all Extreme Performance Summer tires, Yokohama's ADVAN Neova AD09 is not intended to be serviced, stored or driven in near-and-below-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD09 Callouts

The Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD09 is molded into an optimized, asymmetric pattern with large outboard tread blocks for enhanced responsiveness, dry cornering grip, and confident high-speed handling. A strong center rib provides solid on-center feel and responsive steering for quick transitions between straight-line sprints and high-speed cornering. The inboard tread section, with a full depth, curved circumferential groove, and deep lateral grooves perform in concert with an all-new high silica compound to mitigate hydroplaning and deliver improved traction in wet conditions.

The internal construction of the Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD09 consists of two wide steel belts atop a two-ply polyester casing with a high turn-up, resulting in a rigid, three-ply polyester sidewall. Two nylon reinforcement plies further stabilize the tread to provide high-speed handling and durability.

CAUTION:NEVER store or use below -10℃(14℉)as this may damage tire and impede performance.

Customers Say

Customers praise the Yokohama ADVAN NEOVA AD09 for exceptional dry traction, with multiple reviews highlighting strong grip, precise steering response, and confidence during track days, autocross, and HPDE events. Wet traction receives positive marks for light rain performance, though some note reduced grip in standing water or slippery conditions. Treadwear is generally praised for a 200TW tire, with many users reporting solid longevity through multiple heat cycles and track sessions, though there are some reports of rapid wear or chunking after aggressive use. Enthusiasts appreciate its balance of track-ready performance and street usability, though optimal grip requires careful pressure management and heat monitoring.

...Track days in the PNW have lots of rain and these will allow for quicker times in the wet compared to the AO52s...

After about 10,000 miles, 2 road trips from Oregon to Colorado, several HPDEs, Track Sprints and AutoX's, I gotta replace the rears on my 991.2 C4S. These are a great value for the amount of grip you get. AutoXers wont find it hard to keep pace with the meta tires, AO52's included.

The tires have great grip from cold to warm but you'll find they punch WAY above their weight when they get a super hot canvas to stick to, where the meta 200tw tires stat to get greasy. Track days in the PNW have lots of rain and these will allow for quicker times in the wet compared to the AO52s. My only complaint is lots of road noise, some slow turn-in response and how picky the grip threshold is when the tires aren't at the perfect psi.

Highly recommend for the price for anybody running 20" wheels.

...Customers highlight the tire's laid down fast times even before they got warmed up. They don't get greasy as quickly as some of the other 200tw tires I've ran either...

2 track days and a 1300 mile roadtrip and I'd say they're great. I came off OEM P Zero's and these are obviously like night and day. I had them heat cycled, and they were laid down fast times even before they got warmed up.

They don't get greasy as quickly as some of the other 200tw tires I've ran either. The tread is thick enough to feel more comfortable daily driving than opposed to the A052, seeing how you physically have more tread to burn through.

The P Zero's had great steering response when I dropped the psi to around 28 for the track day, but the AD09's did feel a bit sluggish when I did the same. The trade off though, was just wilds amount of grip, and let me power through understeer scenarios knowing my backend will stay put.

But yeah, totally recommend for the 991.2 911 platform. Great price, awesome tire, better than OEM P Zero's

...Customers report impressive dry performance characteristics. One notes: " Grip on the street is ---ly - when the tires are warmed up. Under *80F there was still more grip than the old PSS, but there is a huge increase in grip once the tires are warm. I could easily spin through second before and now it seems like on the street, the car just hooks and puts the power down effortlessly."...

Needed new tires for my M2 and was deciding between the AD09s and the Michelin PS4S (which were backordered). Decided to "risk" it and buy these tires with no reviews.

First impressions on the street were that the sidewalls are stiffer than equivalent Pilot Super Sports (and probably PS4S), but as long as I kept cold tire pressures in the 32-34 range, the ride was only slightly firmer than stock. The steering response was improved tremendously, and really brought to life the vague M2 electronic steering. Only NVH increase is over expansion joints.

Grip on the street is ---ly - when the tires are warmed up. Under *80F there was still more grip than the old PSS, but there is a huge increase in grip once the tires are warm. I could easily spin through second before and now it seems like on the street, the car just hooks and puts the power down effortlessly. The front end feels sharper, almost to the point where I feel like the rear needs more toe in to keep the car stable in turns and under braking.

Autocross performance:
These tires have very high grip levels (like RE71rs), but their "happy" operating window is slim and they DO NOT like getting hot. If you overdrive and overheat the tires, they have a hard time maintaining that same level of grip and seem to get "greasy". Out of the 12 runs I did, run 3 and run 11 (after a lot of water spraying) were the fastest. At peak, I saw tire temps of 135-140F, and it took about an hour of sitting and some water spraying to get them back to the 100-110.
The car was very predictable and balanced until the tires got super hot, then I had a lot of oversteer (controllable) and some understeer in off camber turns. When I did go over the limit, the car was very controllable and balanced - with a deep audible screeching that let you know how quickly the car was rotating.

Very fast tire, but not for super heavy, camber-challenged cars or coarse surfaces IMO. Great on the street though. Will update after a couple more events

...They wear fairly quickly, but that's expected in a 200tw tire...

I had used the previous AD08R and loved it. I was getting ready to take my Boxster to COTA and wanted a good 200 treadwear tire. The new AD09 is one of the few that comes in the right 20 inch sizes for my car. The AD09 did great at COTA and in other track days at MSRH. They do wear fairly quickly, but that's expected in a 200tw tire. I've been very happy with the AD09 as both a track tire and a daily drive tire. I didn't get a lot of wet running on them, but the bit that I did was good(at MSRH).

I had these AD09s installed in July 2023 but after 10 "Intermediate" track days, I was at about 4mm and didn't want to go to NCM with marginal tires...

I was previously running Michelin PS4Ses and then Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02s. However, I've progressed enough that I was abusing/wearing through 300 tread wear, street-oriented tires far too quickly on dry track sessions. So far, I'm really impressed with these Yokohama AD09s and have since bought another set after a full season of track weekends. I bought the same tire for my wife's Golf R as well. Her car is more of a Summer DD/Track Car where all 3100 miles of my mileage has been on various tracks. I typically trailer the TTRS but had done 6 days at Putnam Park Road Course, 2 days at GingerMan Raceway & 2 days at Watkins Glen International. Maybe an additional 200 miles on the street. We will be doing NCM Motorsports park in 2 weeks, Watkins Glen again over Labor Day, Mid-Ohio in later September and probably Putnam again in October. I had these AD09s installed in July 2023 but after 10 "Intermediate" track days, I was at about 4mm and didn't want to go to NCM with marginal tires. I might have gotten 1 more weekend at Putnam Park since they have a vendor, all weekend, who will swap tires for a small fee but I was not chancing it at a new/distant track. The wife's Golf R had Kumho V730s on it prior but they didn't weather as well as these AD09s given her driving style and only -2° of front camber. She has APR Stage 2 ECU/TCU w/FBOs and a UM Haldex tune. My TTRS has about -2.75° up front and -1.75° rear camber, Zero toe at the front, minor toe-in in the rear. Factory tune to date.

...Customers report: "After 10 sessions on track, no graining, cupping, wear spots or appreciable reduction in tread.. nothing. Conversely, I could easily wreck some Cup2s in a weekend."...

This is one of the only tire options available for the 991.2 GT3 that aren't the Cup2s. Driving around town, the AD09 and the Cup2 are very comparable with the AD09 being ever so slightly harsher on medium impact road undulations. Turn in is sharper and feedback is stronger as a result of the stiffer side wall most likely. I ran my normal coastal roads at the same pace I would with the Cup 2s and get the same level of grip and feedback. I observed no weaknesses in this tire for average day to day driving compared to the OEM Michelin. Now for the track.. I run the car in group 4/TT and have raced for years. This tire is likely 1, maybe 2 seconds slower a lap than the Cup 2 but I would argue that's only relevant if you're trying to set a qualifying lap. Where this tire shines is in it's consistency and how well it holds up to abuse. I'd wager that the average group 3/4 driver is quicker with this tire since you don't have adjust for the performance fall off the way you do with a Cup2. If you were comparing average lap times over a session, I bet the AD09 wins. I will say, this thing wears like iron compared to the Cup2s. After a 10 sessions on track, no graining, cupping, wear spots or appreciable reduction in tread.. nothing. Conversely, I could easily wreck some Cup2s in a weekend. End of the day, some drivers will notice the slight reduction in absolute overall grip but I think this tire makes up for it in price, consistency, wear rate on the track and usability on the road. If you absolutely need the best lap times than you should be probably looking at a Hoosier anyway.
