Does this tire fit your vehicle?

Tires are designed specifically for different vehicles and wheel sizes. Tell us about your vehicle or the specific size you want so we can help find the right tires for you.

The Open Country A/T III is Toyo's Off-Road All-Terrain tire developed for drivers of pickup trucks, Jeeps, crossovers and SUVs who want capable off-road traction combined with responsive and predictable on-road handling. The Open Country A/T3 is designed to get you there and get back home, focusing on wet performance and wintertime traction sufficient to earn the tire industry's severe snow service certification and three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

Open Country AT3 Tread Pattern and Compound

A specialized, all-season, cut-and-chip resistant tread compound is molded into the Open Country AT3's symmetric tread pattern, utilizing an evenly distributed void area design. The pattern is engineered to enhance off-road traction and increase block rigidity for better dry handling and stability, while still incorporating comfortable and quiet on-road operation. The wet traction-focused compound of the Open Country A/T III, along with 3D Multi-Wave Sipes, increase wet traction and stability. Generous lateral grooves increase hydroplaning resistance while also bolstering traction in snowy conditions, and help the tire earn the 3PMSF symbol.

The Toyo Open Country AT3 offers two distinct sidewall designs built into all sizes, allowing for a subtle customization of the vehicle's look. One side features wraparound shoulder elements with a solid design. The opposite side, and sidewalls with outlined white letters, feature a similar block design but with the elements visually broken up by accent lines splitting the block area.

Toyo Open Country AT3 Internal Construction

The internal construction of the Open Country AT3 utilizes a durable, two-ply polyester casing, providing a robust foundation for twin, high-strength steel belts. A single, nylon reinforcement ply is added for further durability and increased high-speed capability.

Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

...The wet traction is outstanding as well. I have used the Launch control while on a wet surface and didn't get much if any spin at all...

This is my favorite tire I have ever had. This tire has an extremely quite ride. The wet traction is outstanding as well. I have used the Launch control while on a wet surface and didn't get much if any spin at all. I have about 8k on the tires and they still look pretty new and have even wear. I strongly recommend this tire. Being in North Texas i have yet to encounter any snowy conditions with these tires.

...At the time it was raining and I was doing around 75mph so I was certain my quick steering was about to cause me to lose traction, but instead these tires maintained grip through the whole event...

Overall great tire. Great handling for an all season but perceptively less traction off the stoplight when compared against my previous pair of Pilot summer tires. All that said, there's one experience that solidified this tire as my go-to for my commuter cars. During my drive to work one day, I was forced to make a last minute maneuver to avoid debris that fell off a truck in front of me on the highway. At the time it was raining and I was doing around 75mph so I was certain my quick steering was about to cause me to lose traction, but instead these tires maintained grip through the whole event. Because of that experience, I'll definitely be buying these tires again.

My 4x4 was down for the wintertime, and these tires have done very well in the ice and snow. Especially being on such a light car...

My car had Bridgestone on it when I got it, so I wanted to stick with Bridgestone. The problem was, I could not find them anywhere. Then, I saw commercial for tire rack. The cost plus shipping was the best I found for such a good tire. These tires have proven themselves, and I we'll definitely buy them again. My 4x4 was down for the wintertime, and these tires have done very well in the ice and snow. Especially being on such a light car. Thank you, Tire Rack, for the opportunity. I will buy from you again.

...Performs exceptionally well on snow, can verify, even on low tread depth...

This tire has been great, performs great in dry and wet weather. Great ride and traction, and with its stiffer sidewall performs well in the curves. Performs exceptionally well on snow, can verify, even on low tread depth. My vehicle is lowered and my alignment was slightly off due to this however I have still managed to squeeze out close to 40,000 miles out of this set of tires without much decline in performance (currently about 3/32” tread remaining). My only complaint would be slight road noise when it begins to wear closer to 4 - 5/32”, however this is typical for a tire getting close the end of its life and in my case is likely caused my a lowered vehicle. I would recommend purchasing these again and can say this might be the best bang for your buck tire on the market.

I LOVE how this car rides, drives and handles with these tires...

I used to run Potenza tires on my 1999 VW Golf TDI that was somewhat modified. Hot hatch was made hotter... spirited driving, YES! Drove that car for 16 yrs, then purchased a 2015 Passat.
It was most definitely NOT a hot hatch, so I chose Grand Touring tires for it. Now that I'm in a sport sedan that's a real performer, I've gone back to the Potenzas. It's been 11 years since I've driven on Potenzas, but it was like slipping back into an old, comfortable pair of shoes. I LOVE how this car rides, drives and handles with these tires. Thank you, Bridgestone for not screwing up a good thing!!
