The Pilot Sport All Season 4 is Michelin's Ultra High Performance All-Season tire for drivers of high-end sports cars, sporty coupes, performance sedans, crossovers and SUVs looking to push the limits of all-season performance. Designed to offer high levels of dry and wet traction, combined with confidence in inclement weather, the Pilot Sport All Season 4 aims to control the moment no matter the condition, even in light snow.

Michelin Pilot Sport All-Season 4 Callouts

Select sizes of the Pilot Sport All Season 4 are available with Michelin's Full Ring Velour Premium Touch sidewall treatment. This velvet-effect checkered sidewall is created using cutting-edge laser technology and is designed to enhance the vehicle's visual presence. These sizes are identified on the "Specs" page and in search results.

Featuring an advanced tread compound molded into an innovative asymmetric pattern, the Pilot Sport All Season 4 utilizes large reinforced outboard shoulder blocks that help deliver lateral grip. Dynamic Response Technology evens out the forces exerted on the contact patch during hard cornering, improving handling characteristics and tread wear. Wide circumferential channels combine with large rain grooves to evacuate heavy water from the contact patch, helping increase hydroplaning resistance. Wet traction and stability are further enhanced by the Extreme Silica Compound, along with dynamic biting edges from the distinctive 360 Degree Variable Sipes. These full-depth and interlocking sipes also complement wintertime traction and combine with biting edges molded into the sides of the circumferential grooves to enhance snow performance. The Pilot Sport All Season 4 employs Michelin's Helio Technology, which is derived from sunflower oil. This sustainable and biodegradable material helps the tread maintain its flexibility at lower temperatures, ensuring the Pilot Sport All Season 4's capabilities, even in colder climates.

The Pilot Sport All Season 4's internal construction features a two ply polyester casing, blending durability and performance handling characteristics. Two high strength steel belts are reinforced by single nylon cap ply, further promoting comfort and high speed stability.

Great tires quiet and very good in wet conditions as the first two times I drove vehicle I got caught in the rain. Handling seems very good dry or wet. Night and day difference from the OEM Goodyear's as they were hard ,noisy, and only lasted 21000 miles. These tires make the corvette enjoyable to drive again. Looks like they will last awhile as the tread depth is substantial.

...So far they have had the best grip, both in the dry, in the wet, and in snow...

I have always liked these tires. So far they have had the best grip, both in the dry, wet, and snow. My only gripe is the price. But in some cases going cheap, you get what you pay for. I drive a 2014 Mazda 6 grand touring, so I can only give my impression of them in that car, which has a stiffer suspension with a wide wheel base and a wide tire footprint, which all offers better performance. But given the multiple types of tires I've driven, these have far better performed.

The only reason I'm replacing them at 40k miles is because a screw punctured one of my tires at the sidewall. But I believe I could have gotten another 20k-30k miles out of them. I've decided to try a less expensive brand, still highly rated, but doesn't hurt the budget as much.

...The first day out, it rain - quite hard at times. These tires performed really well. I was doing 80 in the driving rain and the car never put a foot wrong...

This is the only run-flat tire (that I am aware of) that fits my car. So my options were very limited. I took off on a 6K mile trip right after buying them. The first day out, it rain - quite hard at times. These tires performed really well. I was doing 80 in the driving rain and the car never put a foot wrong. It was totally stable. And they handle really well.
However - these tires ride rougher than either the OEM Goodyears or the Firestones I had on after those. Even on the 'touring' setting, it rides like a lumber wagon. I was quite surprised, since Michelin generally has a reputation as a smooth or comfortable ride. They are also louder than either of the other tires. The C5 Corvette is open between the passenger compartment and the trunk and the noise reverberates into the cabin. If you want to listen to the stereo, you really have to crank it up and it makes conversation difficult, even without the stereo.
I replace my tires based on their age on this car, rather than mileage. The next time, I hope I can find a better alternative.

...I have driven in a few snow storms with no difficulty at all. The grip these tires proved coupled with AWD offer safe and fun driving in virtually all conditions.

Bought these tires after a pothole ripped the sidewalk of my pirelli tires. These tires meet or exceed all expectations and perform as well as one could ever expect all-season tires to perform. I have drive in the rain countless times and felt in complete control. I have driven in a few snow storms with no difficulty at all. The grip these tires proved coupled with AWD offer safe and fun driving in virtually all conditions.

...Neither have I driven them on snow, nor am I likely to. Corvettes do not do well in the snow...

I put a set of these on my Corvette prior to a major road trip. I put 5800+ miles on these tires over 14 states in 27 days. I was impressed by the traction, particularly in the wet. There were times when I was cruising at 75 to 85 in light rain with wind gusts at times approaching gale force. At no time did they feel unstable or on-the-edge. Very sure-footed and reassuring. Similarly, there was no slip or give-up while on the very curvy sections of Hwy 1 in CA. I haven't had them on long enough to gauge wear. Neither have I driven them on snow, nor am I likely to. Corvettes do not do well in the snow. My main complaint is noise. The rear wheels are just behind the seats and there is no wall between the trunk and the passenger compartment. The road noise came through loud and clear. They are noticeably noisier than the Firehawks they replaced. Road imperfections came through the steering wheel and seats very clearly, as well. On smooth roads, they were great. On rough roads, impacts could be harsh. Keep in mind, though, that the Corvette uses run-flat tires (zero pressure, in Michelin-speak). They do tend to be a little firmer than a 'regular' tire.

...Great all season performance tires, its basically as good as a max summer tire with very good traction and feed back, good ride quality, good tread life and quiet. it also handles heavy rain and even handles light snow very well for a tail happy sports car...

i try to drive my '06 BMW M3 ZCP as much as possible 3 seasons here in Ontario Canada. Just love driving this car. It has low km's and in near mint condition so i was little worried about getting caught in fall light snow or spring cold temps with Michelins PSS's or Sport Cups.
so decided to try these UHP all season tires as I'm getting older (mid40's) and have slowed down a little as you can't really speed here or fool around much in GTA or Ontario anymore because they will impound your car for doing a burnout or chirpin the tires thru gears.
tbh i already smoked the back tires off having too much fun soon after putting them on but i replaced the rears and chilled out on the burnout launches.

Great all season performance tires, its basically as good as a max summer tire with very good traction and feed back, good ride quality, good tread life and quiet. it also handles heavy rain and even light snow very well for a tail happy sports car.

They are just a little bit better than any other tire i have tried in this UHP all season category as i also just put a new set of the competitors UHP all season Continental DWS06 on my daily driver Audi S8.
They are very good tires but not as good as Michelin AS3+.

I have tried a lot of Great new tires from Goodyear, Conti, Pirelli, Dunlop and Cooper. Hankook and others but my gut finds Michelin to be a better all around tire in all tire categories.

...On dry pavement, these tires hold the road so well as to corner with the latest idea of hotrod kiddie-car go-karts (and better than a 2025 Corvette down an interstate ramp)...

I have an X-car (American muscle car) sleeper, with frame stiffening, a hotter engine than original, also developing much more torque than the original setup. Once upon a time I had a full blowout of a (not run-flat) tire while taking a cloverleaf exit, and spun out. The original design 15" rim tires also would lay over, requiring countersteer, at heavy accelerations, and would, too easily leave a block of rubber behind on a too-rough a takeoff. THIS 17" low-profile tire *IS* the tire for my X-car! On dry pavement, these tires hold the road so well as to corner with the latest idea of hotrod kiddie-car go-karts (and better than a 2025 Corvette down an interstate ramp). I got a truck's tie-down buckle through the tread area of one of these Michelin run-flat tires, and drove it home on the Interstate with the buckle through the tire (some careful steering, but no spin-out, tow truck, or roadside tire changing). If you can accept a rougher ride (less sidewall flex), these are the safest tire on the road! Except for the damaged tires (2, over the years, the buckle, and a roofing nail) these tires will dry-rot before running out of tread - and that takes years. Excellent tires, and top quality.

...These new all season tires are heavenly in that they are priced much cheaper than the originals and ride so much smoother... These tires ride great, wear great ( 10K and still look newish), and really fill in the fender space of the tire wells...

I wanted a tire that was run flat certified but more comfortable for a daily driver. The stock tires for the Grand Sport are the summer tires that wear too fast (24K miles) and make for a race ready ride, not a daily commuter ride. These new all season tires are heavenly in that they are priced much cheaper than the originals and ride so much smoother. I am not a racer or track guy, so I don't need summer race tires, but all season comfortable ride tires. These tires ride great, wear great (10K and still look newish), and really fill in the fender space of the tire wells. The price of $1400 for a set of 4 vs. $1800 for summer originals had me at "hello". I believe these are to be the stock tires for the 2020 Corvette as well. Buy them. You won't be sorry.

The ride quality of the Michelin's belie the fact that they are run flat tires... they're a quiet, comfortable and very stable tire...

The Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires outperform the Goodyear Eagles they replaced by a wide margin especially in ride quality and noise. The Goodyear's were excessively noisy and they rode like a solid rubber tire. The ride quality of the Michelin's belie the fact that they are run flat tires. If I had to list any area that the Goodyear's might be slightly better then the Michelin's it might be the steering response but beyond that the Michelin's are the far superior tire, they're a quiet, comfortable and very stable tire. 100% would buy again or recommend.

...After installing the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+, which has a higher rolling resistance, the car drives dramatically better...

My Audi came with low rolling resistance ECO tires and never tracked well at highway speeds (tramlining). If you didn't hold the wheel with two hands the car would drift. It was so bad that I rarely went on long trips with the car. After installing the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+, which has a higher rolling resistance, the car drives dramatically better. I personally concluded the 2014 A4 was original designed for tires with the characteristics of these Michelin Pilot Sport. If you drive a 2014 A4, I would definitely consider this tire.

Breaking Down Tire Performance Categories - 2024 Special Test With Winter Update (26:05)

We understand that tire performance categories can be confusing. You want an all-season tire, but there are several all-season categories; how do you know which one is right for you? You want a summer tire, but again, which summer category? In this special demonstration, we took six all-season tires from three all-season categories and three summer tires from two summer categories to lay it out for you. Category-leading tires from the Standard Touring All-Season, Grand Touring All-Season, Ultra High Performance All-Season, Max Performance Summer, and Extreme Performance Summer categories are tested so you can see exactly what each "step up" gets you as a driver and what trade-offs were made along the way.
