The Pilot Sport All Season 4 is Michelin's Ultra High Performance All-Season tire for drivers of high-end sports cars, sporty coupes, performance sedans, crossovers and SUVs looking to push the limits of all-season performance. Designed to offer high levels of dry and wet traction, combined with confidence in inclement weather, the Pilot Sport All Season 4 aims to control the moment no matter the condition, even in light snow.
Select sizes of the Pilot Sport All Season 4 are available with Michelin's Full Ring Velour Premium Touch sidewall treatment. This velvet-effect checkered sidewall is created using cutting-edge laser technology and is designed to enhance the vehicle's visual presence. These sizes are identified on the "Specs" page and in search results.
Featuring an advanced tread compound molded into an innovative asymmetric pattern, the Pilot Sport All Season 4 utilizes large reinforced outboard shoulder blocks that help deliver lateral grip. Dynamic Response Technology evens out the forces exerted on the contact patch during hard cornering, improving handling characteristics and tread wear. Wide circumferential channels combine with large rain grooves to evacuate heavy water from the contact patch, helping increase hydroplaning resistance. Wet traction and stability are further enhanced by the Extreme Silica Compound, along with dynamic biting edges from the distinctive 360 Degree Variable Sipes. These full-depth and interlocking sipes also complement wintertime traction and combine with biting edges molded into the sides of the circumferential grooves to enhance snow performance. The Pilot Sport All Season 4 employs Michelin's Helio Technology, which is derived from sunflower oil. This sustainable and biodegradable material helps the tread maintain its flexibility at lower temperatures, ensuring the Pilot Sport All Season 4's capabilities, even in colder climates.
The Pilot Sport All Season 4's internal construction features a two ply polyester casing, blending durability and performance handling characteristics. Two high strength steel belts are reinforced by single nylon cap ply, further promoting comfort and high speed stability.

...Dry and wet braking has been far better than I had anticipated, and the tires did not feel mushy even on the occasional days in the high 40's...
I was pleasantly surprised at the excellent road manners of these tires. We switched over from an all season General RT43H and went down one wheel size from a 17 to a 16. Handling is very similar, with a slight increase in noise and decrease in straight line tracking. Dry and wet braking has been far better than I had anticipated, and the tires did not feel mushy even on the occasional days in the high 40's.
We have been driving through a lot of snow squalls on the freeway and I have been able to mostly maintain speed, only dropping around 15-20 mph because of reduced visibility, with no perceived slipping. They have tracked well in even in strong (30-40 mph) gusty cross winds. So far we have only had about 5" of snow on the ground and they are handling better than the RT43's. Temps have only dipped into the low 20's but the tires seem unflappable and handle better then when warmer.
The downside is all of the other people on the road acting like they've never driven in snow before. I was almost rear-ended but the X-ice snows helped the car accelerate enough to avoid a collision. We drive a lot between northern and southern Michigan (about 250 miles each way) and we are no longer concerned about driving in mildly bad winter weather. I'd still stay at home during a major storm. Wear is an unknown but they look practically new.

...Since putting them on our Golf Alltrack we have experienced snow, ice and heavy rain. The tires have exceeded all expectation for traction on snow and ice...
These were a replacement for a previous set of Michelin X-Ice tires. I bought these in preparation for winter and have covered approximately 1300miles. Since putting them on our Golf Alltrack we have experienced snow, ice and heavy rain. The tires have exceeded all expectation for traction on snow and ice. I would rate them an 11 on a 10 point scale. The steering response and grip in temperatures down to 18 degrees F. is excellent.
High speed stability on the highway is excellent and tires run very smooth at high speed.
Highly recommend these for winter driving.

Customers overwhelmingly rate the Michelin X-Ice Snow's winter traction as excellent, with most scoring 9s and 10s for snow, ice, and deep snow grip. A few scores between 7-8 highlight minor variability, but the tire consistently delivers confident handling and reliable traction in harsh winter conditions.

Let me explain. This truly is a great snow tire. A recent trip I took to the North Shore of Minnesota, while cold, it was also very dry. Cruising between 70-80 MPH this tire feels like it wants to stay in it's own track. Also cruising while at highway speeds the steering feels a bit dull and unresponsive in the dry. However, also incredibly quiet and well balanced! These tires balance out very well and I have no reason to doubt they will outlast the competition as Michelin claims.
Then came the snow! Fresh snow! What a difference this tire is from the old X-ice 3! So confident in the snow, deep snow! While it may not be regarded as a true "performance" snow tire, The Michelin X-ice Snow does provide performance in quality, confidence, grip, fuel economy, hydroplaning resistance, and comfort! I have yet to test this tire on ice, though I'm confident it'll perform very well.
While I would definitely recommend this tire to the majority of people, if you are looking for a more dedicated dry performance V-rated snow tire, there are other options. However those other "performance tires" will not offer everything the Michelin X-ice Snow has to offer.
I would certainly by these tires again but next time, they'll go on my wifes car. I would prefer the Michelin Pilot Alpin for my style of driving. Just wish it was offered in a 245/45/R18.

The first time I drove them, they were pushed hard on a fairly tight S-curve on-ramp in weather a bit warmer than snow tires usually like, but they provided grip in spades. Shortly after, I drove these tires in a series of snow storms in conditions ranging from a light dusting on local roads to a few inches of snow built up on an interstate, and they once again provided absolute confidence in their capability. The car was never the least bit unsettled or out of control regardless of how hard it was driven, even at near highway speeds through inches of snow. 10/10

...They ride much more comfortably and emit less noise than the stock Michelin Pilot Sport 4s. Overall driving comfort improved significantly...
My 2022 Subaru BRZ came with Michelin PS4 Summer tires so I bought a set of Michelin X-Ice Snows for winter use right after I picked up the car. These tires are fantastic for what they are.
Pros: They ride much more comfortably and emit less noise than the stock Michelin Pilot Sport 4s. Overall driving comfort improved significantly. These tires feel very confident in all kinds of winter conditions such as slush, snow, and compact snow and ice. They are very predictable and easy to control when they are at the limit. I can easily manage the back of the car when it starts to slides on snowy roads. I used them for doing donuts in the snow twice and it was a lot of fun. Virtually no visible wear after 3000 miles of winter use.
Cons: The sidewall is pretty soft, feels pretty sluggish when push hard in the dry, which is typical for studless winter tires. The wet lateral traction is lackluster, the back of the car is very easy to slide on wet surfaces with these, although this might not be a bad thing for an RWD Sports Car like the BRZ:)

I think these tires are truly exceptional for a winter tire. I've used Blizzak's on my past vehicles, and I think these out-perform them in many ways. They are extremely comfortable for a winter tire. Yes, the stiffness increased over the Michelin Eco Saver tires on my Mini Cooper, but it's to be expected, and the increase in stiffness is marginal at best, maybe 10%. Rode noise, especially on the highway is VERY tolerable given how chunky the tire blocks are. They make a consistent, almost monotone hum. This is only noticeable at highway speeds, and again, this is significantly quieter than any Blizzak I have run before. Wet and dry handling grip is fantastic, I have not spun the tires in any uncontrollable manner, they are very confidence inspiring. No tire is perfect on ice, my Mini being front wheel drive has showed minor traction issues going up an icy hill. But very correctable and consistent, never any fears of losing control. I have driven the tires in slushy conditions, as well as unplowed driveways with about 4 inches of snow. No issues, the car just has tons of grip. I am truly impressed with the capabilities of this tire. Tire Rack's professional and customer reviews have always played a roll in my decision process, so I help this review can help someone else. I would buy these tires for any vehicle I owned given they had the correct size, great winter tire in my book.

...However, with a proper alignment and constant tire pressure control, this tire is definitely the longer lasting of any in this winter snow traction category... We store them in plastic bags, and while noticing a slightly lesser grip each subsequent winter, we enjoy a steady performance...
This is my third set of MICHELIN X Ice Snow. Combined we may have driven over 60K miles of winter road condition. Each time we replaced the tires simply because they were "out of warranty" after 5~6 years of use. Our experience has demonstrated that if the tire is not the top in winter snow/ice traction, braking, steering, it is not far behind the best. However, with a proper alignment and constant tire pressure control, this tire is definitely the longer lasting of any in this winter snow traction category. Working in Northern Indiana, we put them on late November and store them late March, early April. We store them in plastic bags, and while noticing a slightly lesser grip each subsequent winter, we enjoy a steady performance. On wet concrete road driving, the directional tread design, will have the tire humming nicely. Unless this newly bought set gives us different feedback during this coming winter, we plan to keep replacing them in the next 5 to 6 years. While more expensive than other brands in the category, the return on investment is surely the best.

I will never drive another vehicle in the winter without these tires. I live in northern Midwest, and we do get snow, and we do get ice. It’s not very mountainous, but it is very hilly. I drove my car across the country in the fall and the Tire wear was unbelievably good. I figured because there were snow tires I would chew them up Through the south west but I did not. This is my second winter with these tires and I expect two more years at least. The only negative is that my tires originally are skinny and 14 inch and I had to upgrade my rims to accommodate these tires, but I am so glad I did, and I would do it again without hesitation.
