The Pilot Sport All Season 4 is Michelin's Ultra High Performance All-Season tire for drivers of high-end sports cars, sporty coupes, performance sedans, crossovers and SUVs looking to push the limits of all-season performance. Designed to offer high levels of dry and wet traction, combined with confidence in inclement weather, the Pilot Sport All Season 4 aims to control the moment no matter the condition, even in light snow.

Michelin Pilot Sport All-Season 4 Callouts

Select sizes of the Pilot Sport All Season 4 are available with Michelin's Full Ring Velour Premium Touch sidewall treatment. This velvet-effect checkered sidewall is created using cutting-edge laser technology and is designed to enhance the vehicle's visual presence. These sizes are identified on the "Specs" page and in search results.

Featuring an advanced tread compound molded into an innovative asymmetric pattern, the Pilot Sport All Season 4 utilizes large reinforced outboard shoulder blocks that help deliver lateral grip. Dynamic Response Technology evens out the forces exerted on the contact patch during hard cornering, improving handling characteristics and tread wear. Wide circumferential channels combine with large rain grooves to evacuate heavy water from the contact patch, helping increase hydroplaning resistance. Wet traction and stability are further enhanced by the Extreme Silica Compound, along with dynamic biting edges from the distinctive 360 Degree Variable Sipes. These full-depth and interlocking sipes also complement wintertime traction and combine with biting edges molded into the sides of the circumferential grooves to enhance snow performance. The Pilot Sport All Season 4 employs Michelin's Helio Technology, which is derived from sunflower oil. This sustainable and biodegradable material helps the tread maintain its flexibility at lower temperatures, ensuring the Pilot Sport All Season 4's capabilities, even in colder climates.

The Pilot Sport All Season 4's internal construction features a two ply polyester casing, blending durability and performance handling characteristics. Two high strength steel belts are reinforced by single nylon cap ply, further promoting comfort and high speed stability.

Outstanding traction wet and dry. They hook up and pull into heavy highway traffic (or across a busy highway) without any slip or traction control reducing turbo boost. Have not seen heavy rain yet for hydroplaning resistance. Slightly noticeable 2-3 mile warm up period. Very surefooted and add +10mph to comfortable cruising speeds. Decently quiet, low roar that doesn't change with speed (Accord Sport are loud). Slightly taught ride but not objectionable. No issues with potholes on worn roads. For this larger size tire I use a Yellr speedo correction box set at +4.5%, which adds much needed sidewall for ride quality and pothole resistance (OEM 235/40R19).

...These tires hold the road in any weather condition ( wet or dry/hot or freezing)...

Had TIRE RACK send these tires to my preferred service garage, which can install tires, balance each wheel, and complete alignments.
These tires hold the road in any weather condition (wet or dry/hot or freezing).
No tire noise. Just grip on the road. Warm them up with light driving just as you warm up the engine and then go.
Do plenty of driving tours year-round with these tires. Worth it!

...Dry traction is amazing, wet is better as well...

I love these tires! So much better than the Firestones that came as stock on my Si. Corners I used to squeal around I now take faster with zero noise or drama. Dry traction is amazing, wet is better as well. The steering response took a little getting used to, the Firestones were more "instant" while these seem a little less authoritative, like with the Firestones you'd look where you wanted to go and already be going that direction, while the PS4s need a little more nudging to get going in the right direction. With that said, they are much better at maintaining straight line cruising and don't catch or drift nearly as much.

...While still not as good as a dedicated winter tire for snow and ice, I've been pleased with winter performance...

Coming from the stock Pilot Sport 4S, I don't feel I've lost much switching to this tire for spirited year round driving. In the dry or wet, these are great. While still not as good as a dedicated winter tire for snow and ice, I've been pleased with winter performance. If my bumper clears, I'm fine to drive. Unless something significantly better comes out when I need replacements, I'll just buy these again.

...theyre really good in snow to my surprise...

Oh man, i put these on a set of motegis and then got lowering springs after buying these tires so i would say im a very fair judge of getting the most out of these tires.

They handle GREAT, they stick nicely in corners, give all kinds of confidence behind the wheel, theyre really good in snow to my surprise, durable and quiet.

I already knew what i was getting and they exceeded expectations. They also have held up well even with hard cornering.

Great tire all around. Phenomenal traction in dry and wet conditions in a small light car. Love the traction and control on a variety of surfaces. Might squeal when really pushed, but grabs traction again quickly and almost instantly.
IMPORTANT: The tires get environmental cracking / shoulder cracks quickly if outside and not protected from sunlight etc. Began showing up within 2 years of purchase. I live and travel with this car only in the northeastern USA, no Texas or Arizona type sun/heat.

...These tires stick to dry surface and have almost instantaneous response and gives direct feedback to the driver...

2015 MB C300 4MATIC. These are by far the best tires I have purchased and driven on, especially if you like taking corners at above average speed. These tires stick to dry surface and have almost instantaneous response and gives direct feedback to the driver. I haven't had driven in wintery weather yet, due to lack of snow fall last winter, however I am looking forward to their winter traction and stability on snow covered roads. The only issue is the price of these tires, although they are the top rated UHP tire, I think there are less expensive options available the meet the standards of this tire. This tire has been out for many years, where other companies have improved compounds and tread design that now match these tires. That being said, if you don't mind paying extra, and you're in need of UHP All Season tires these will fit your needs perfectly. These tires are always at the top of head to head comparisons with other UHP A/S tires, and have been for years.

...Michelins have transformed the ride without any noticeable reduction in grip, and with improved steering feel...

Very limited mileage so far but steering feel and ride comfort are significantly improved over the OE Continental ExtremeContact Sport. Continentals were totally worn out in 13,000 miles of average, not hard, driving and ride was terrible with them - harsh and crashy over any surface that wasn’t totally smooth. Michelins have transformed the ride without any noticeable reduction in grip, and with improved steering feel. Would highly recommend these tires.

...Splits occurred in the tread before wear reached the wear bars, ~60k miles...

Tire Rack is great to work with, even assisted in getting them installed.
This is the second set of these tires on this car. Shopping for these was a “no brainer”, very good ride and handling and overall wear. They also don’t get hard/loud as they wear.
Only issue is these tires will dry-rot split with age and the heat. Previous ones also cracked/split on the side walls. Splits occurred in the tread before wear reached the wear bars, ~60k miles. Car is garaged when not being driven so it doesn’t set in the Arizona sun. Didn’t have the splitting issue when we lived up north.
Even with that I was confident in purchasing these and do highly recommend them. Just understanding I need to watch for splitting as they age. B Surprise, AZ

Tire life is about 25K then it's done...

Tire life is about 25K then it’s done. I really like this tire and recommend it to others. This is my second set. Very decent high performance road manners, comparable to the Michelin 4S but better in the wet and you won’t immediately die in light snow. Stable and responsive at speed. Can be a 12 month tire which is attractive to me.

Tesla vs. BMW: Do Tires Matter?(14:23)

Do the tires make the car, or does the car make the tires? We took our Tesla Model 3 and our BMW 3 Series and ran the same test on the same tires. These are very similar vehicles aside from powertrains, as they’re both AWD sedans, and used a select grouping of both EV and non-EV Ultra High Performance All-Season tires to see where the results are similar and where they vary.

Category-leading tires from the Standard Touring All-Season, Grand Touring All-Season, Ultra High Performance All-Season, Max Performance Summer, and Extreme Performance Summer categories are tested so you can see exactly what each "step up" gets you as a driver and what trade-offs were made along the way.
