The Pilot Sport 4S is Michelin's Max Performance Summer tire developed in cooperation with some of the most demanding vehicle manufacturers, including Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche to utilize key technologies engineered during competition in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It was designed for serious drivers looking to maximize the performance potential of their sports cars, performance sedans and powerful luxury vehicles. The Pilot Sport 4S excels in warm dry and wet conditions, so like all Max Performance Summer tires, is not intended to be serviced, stored nor driven in near- and below-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4S Premium Touch LogoSelect sizes of the Pilot Sport 4S are available with Michelin's Premium Touch sidewall treatment. This velvet-effect checkered sidewall is created using cutting-edge laser technology and is designed to enhance the vehicle's visual presence. These sizes are identified on the "Specs" page and in the search results.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4SThe asymmetric tread pattern of the Pilot Sport 4S features side-by-side, 24 Hours of Le Mans-derived compounds. The low-void outer shoulder utilizes a new dry-focused hybrid tread rubber for improved dry handling and braking over the previous generation tire, while the center ribs and inboard shoulder feature a silica-infused wet compound designed to increase wet braking performance. The computer-modeled Variable Contact Patch 3.0 optimizes pressure distribution across the contact patch through turns, reducing hot spots and improving tire life during aggressive use.

Internal construction of the Pilot Sport 4S features twin steel belts reinforced by a spirally wound hybrid reinforcement. This hybrid Aramid and nylon belt offers a lightweight, high-strength reinforcement above the steel belts to enhance high-speed handling, wear and durability. Specifically tuning the application of the cord filament provides Michelin engineers the ability to balance tension and strength, and a single-ply, polyester cord casing balances trade-offs between ride quality and responsive handling.

Limited sizes of the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S are available with Michelin Acoustic Technology, which involves the manufacturer adhering a layer of sound-absorbing foam to the inner liner of the tire to reduce cabin noise in the vehicle. These sizes are identified on the Specs page and in the search results.

Select original equipment sizes of the Pilot Sport 4S utilize the Michelin Connected Tire System in conjunction with Michelin Acoustic Technology and can be identified by the specific Acoustic and Bluetooth logos on the tire's sidewall. These tires contain the sound-absorbing foam as well as a sensor designed to communicate specific data about the tire to the vehicle's built-in systems.

Note: Tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.

Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in Max Performance Summer tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. Compound cracking is not a warrantable condition because it occurs as the result of improper use or storage, tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced.

*Specific sizes utilizing Michelin Total Performance eco-focused manufacturing methods are identified as such on the Sizes tab, as well as on the tire's Specs tab.

Shockingly good winter tires. Handles exceptionally well in rain/snow conditions. In heavy rain they were fantastic. Can’t say enough good things about them. Buy with full confidence. Blow by Subaru’s and Jeeps with all season radials in your front wheel drive car. Lol.

Excellent for rain and snow. These tires plow through the snow. They are a little noisy in dry weather, which is to be expected due to the aggressive tread pattern. In my opinion these are the best snow tires on the market.

...Snow acceleration is really good on ice and stopping is even better. Overall when I pass 4 wheel drive trucks on the way to work makes you feel more confident driving buy this tire!!

These tires are awesome! I will definitely buy another set for next winter. I have an 02 echo so it’s pretty light. We just got our first taste of winter in Ohio. I work for the DOT so I don’t have a choice but to go to work. The drifts were pretty high but I made it thru. Snow acceleration is really good on ice and stopping is even better. Overall when I pass 4 wheel drive trucks on the way to work makes you feel more confident driving buy this tire!!

I love the Blizzak tire. This is at least my 5th or 6th set over the last 20 years on multiple vehicles. I won't run anything else in the New Hampshire winter. My Camry has been stuck once in years and over 210,000miles.

Tire Rack is easy to deal with. Order tires, they arrive.

...Stopping distance and response is great in the snow/cold and the car feels very well controlled...

Purchased this set of winter tires for my Cadillac CT4 V-Blackwing. There were limited snow tires available but I wanted to give these Blizzak WS90's a chance, and so far very pleased with them. I live in MIchigan. We get snow anywhere from November to April time frame, and consistently cold temperatures, down to single digit degrees. The Blizzak's have held up very well, improved ride quality and been very well to work in the snow/cold. Road noise is a little bit more from the large tread blocks, but not so much to interfere with conversational in the cabin. Stopping distance and response is great in the snow/cold and the car feels very well controlled. I only use the snow tires for winter seasons, and have stock summer tires for the rest of the year, so it remains to be seen how many seasons I can get from the Blizzaks' but hoping at least three seasons. So far very pleased with these tires.

...WS90 have improved ride quality, less noise, better steering response, overall the best winter tires on the market I could use for my daily and ice racing days.

Great winter tires, I've used WS80 previously, my AMG is my daily, however I've done over 20 ice racing events on these tires, they preformed better than Nokian Hakka R2 and lasted longer. WS90 have improved ride quality, less noise, even better steering response, overall the best winter tires on the market I could use for my daily and ice racing days.

...I drove at 70-80 mph from Providence to lower NC and back in December (1400 miles) and the tires essentially behaved as well as aggressive all-seasons and performance snows. Center-line control was fine. Lateral grip was stable.

After buying the Bridgestone Blizzak WS90 tires in the spring on 2022, I was finally able this winter to test them in my 2020 AWD Camry. We had a mild winter on the RI and MA coasts of New England, so I was not able to drive in deep snow. However, we twice had 3 inches of snowy freeze that left barely traveled night roads slippery and testable. Forced, emergency level stops on freeze-glazed snow showed that the WS90 has grip and breaking. Picking the steepest terrains of College Hill in Providence, such as Jenkins Street, a nearly quarter-mile, one-way only, uphill road that no one attempts—the Camry never struggled, Blizzak’ s maintaining consistent traction and forward motion. No surprises for me.

The surprise for cautious buyers might be how well the tire behaves on dry highway. I drove at 70-80 mph from Providence to lower NC and back in December (1400 miles) and the tires essentially behaved as well as aggressive all-seasons and performance snows. Center-line control was fine. Lateral grip was stable. The ride soft but quite safe. If you were afraid to get these tires because of dry, highway driving—get them and simply give yourself a reasonable margin for fast highway turns and stopping. WS90s are excellent tires. Noise and wear have not been an issue.

Only have just over seven thousand on these tires after one season of use. We only had a few light snow events (less than 4 inches) and these performed great. Had lots of wet weather winter driving though. In these cold and wet conditions, they were rock solid. They performed better than I expected on curvy roads both in the wet but also when the roads were cold but dry. Definitely would recommend them. Very satisfied.

I love these winter tires! I replaced a set of Michelin Pilot Alpin's which were great tires, but the Blizzack's have way better tread wear. If I have one negative about these tires, they don't corner very agressively like the Michelin's did, but when factoring the treadwear characteristics of the Blizzack's, there is no contest! They are, after all, winter tires!
