The Pilot Sport 4S is Michelin's Max Performance Summer tire developed in cooperation with some of the most demanding vehicle manufacturers, including Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche to utilize key technologies engineered during competition in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It was designed for serious drivers looking to maximize the performance potential of their sports cars, performance sedans and powerful luxury vehicles. The Pilot Sport 4S excels in warm dry and wet conditions, so like all Max Performance Summer tires, is not intended to be serviced, stored nor driven in near- and below-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4S Premium Touch LogoSelect sizes of the Pilot Sport 4S are available with Michelin's Premium Touch sidewall treatment. This velvet-effect checkered sidewall is created using cutting-edge laser technology and is designed to enhance the vehicle's visual presence. These sizes are identified on the "Specs" page and in the search results.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4SThe asymmetric tread pattern of the Pilot Sport 4S features side-by-side, 24 Hours of Le Mans-derived compounds. The low-void outer shoulder utilizes a new dry-focused hybrid tread rubber for improved dry handling and braking over the previous generation tire, while the center ribs and inboard shoulder feature a silica-infused wet compound designed to increase wet braking performance. The computer-modeled Variable Contact Patch 3.0 optimizes pressure distribution across the contact patch through turns, reducing hot spots and improving tire life during aggressive use.

Internal construction of the Pilot Sport 4S features twin steel belts reinforced by a spirally wound hybrid reinforcement. This hybrid Aramid and nylon belt offers a lightweight, high-strength reinforcement above the steel belts to enhance high-speed handling, wear and durability. Specifically tuning the application of the cord filament provides Michelin engineers the ability to balance tension and strength, and a single-ply, polyester cord casing balances trade-offs between ride quality and responsive handling.

Limited sizes of the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S are available with Michelin Acoustic Technology, which involves the manufacturer adhering a layer of sound-absorbing foam to the inner liner of the tire to reduce cabin noise in the vehicle. These sizes are identified on the Specs page and in the search results.

Select original equipment sizes of the Pilot Sport 4S utilize the Michelin Connected Tire System in conjunction with Michelin Acoustic Technology and can be identified by the specific Acoustic and Bluetooth logos on the tire's sidewall. These tires contain the sound-absorbing foam as well as a sensor designed to communicate specific data about the tire to the vehicle's built-in systems.

Note: Tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.

Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in Max Performance Summer tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. Compound cracking is not a warrantable condition because it occurs as the result of improper use or storage, tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced.

*Specific sizes utilizing Michelin Total Performance eco-focused manufacturing methods are identified as such on the Sizes tab, as well as on the tire's Specs tab.

Great tire, better than the BFGs that it had on it. Which were also good, just didn't have as good of wet traction. I know more than I should about tires and after 10k I would definitely buy these again.

I am extremely impressed with these tire. I've taken them on hunting trips into back country on loose dirt and sandy roads and the Sequoia felt very solid and composed. I always felt in full control no matter how fast I was going.

In the recent snowstorm that swept across the country, I took them out onto unplowed roads with 10-12" of powder and over 2ft high banks caused by the snow plows. My Sequoia never struggled in the slightest. It easily bombed down packed snow or deep powder. I had no problem with traction even from a stop.

These tires are also super impressive in water. I had to make an emergency run to help my wife during a severe thunderstorm with torrential rain and high winds, so I was driving much faster than normal. I couldn't believe how solid the Falkens felt in deep water while driving on the interstate. Not a hint of hydroplaning. The only struggle I've had is with ice, but I think any vehicle not running snow tires will have that issue. Even so, the Falkens didn't feel any worse than other tires I've had.

Loving these tires. Everything else about them has been great - no noticeable wear yet, no balancing issues, noise harmonics are noticeable but not super loud or annoying. Highly recommended.

My previous tire experience on this truck has been Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs and Nitto Exo Grapplers. Both of those tires were terrible in comparison to this Falken. I'm really happy with the ride comfort, noise, and winter performance. For all terrain tires these have been the best winter performers I've ever used. Off road performance in NE Wyoming and NW South Dakota has been a mix of mud, sandy loam, rocks, and deep snow; they have performed extremely well. Was even able to pull a loaded trailer through a muddy area that I would normally have used 4wd for in 2wd. Can't comment on tire wear as I haven't had them long enough but will update if it becomes relevant. Would highly recommend and I'll certainly purchase again.

Recommended by an expert friend, and they've lived up to it. Just did some snowy logging road driving yesterday and they were perfectly confidence inspiring. Even drove over a huge rock slide with slick boulders and they did the job no problem. They're not the sportscar tires I'm accustomed to on pavement, but they're not at all obnoxious. Perfect balance for my needs. Driving up to the ski slopes today and I've got no doubt they'll get me there without any need to break out the chains.

Put these tires on at the first snow fall in November. OEM tires were only average on dry pavement. I have been very pleased at all conditions I've been in. Deep tread had served me well and was very surprised how quiet they are. Had a set of Duratrax's on previous truck. Looked nice but excessively loud. Never could get use to them in two years. Again, these tires are quiet. They hold the road on curves that I probably take purposely too fast. They're low pressure tires and provide a very smooth ride. The trucks suspension and shocks help that a lot too. And the side walls look pretty nice too.

...Falken tires are very comfortable to drive, noise like you drive truck with all seasons tires and they look great.

I was planning to sell my 2025 Ram RHO because tire noise from original Good Years tires my truck came with. I’m driving most highways and in 1 year I do around 40000 miles. I was very skeptical when I read a review about Falken Wildpeak AT 4W tires and decided to try them and I’m very surprised , it’s like night and day difference, Falken tires are very comfortable to drive, noise like you drive truck with all seasons tires and they look great.

...I drive 40k-50k miles per year, tow trailers up to 16k lbs (not 5th wheel), and they wear even and not excessively. I rotate every 8k-10k miles. The front tires in this time have very little scallop if at all. They more have a rounded appearance, Swap with rears and they stay flat for a good 5k miles. If I rotated every 5k there would likely be very even wear...

All around I am very happy with the choice of tires. I have a lower rating in sand and that is probably the truck's fault. My 2022 3500 HO Cummins is heavy and a ton of torque so on a regular 3/4 ton with a gas motor these tires are probably better all around.

I had zero drop in mpg from the stock Michelin highway tires. 21.5-22 hwy / 18-19 city / 12-14mpg towing 10k-12k in NH.

The Falkens are super quiet and predictable.

The front tires in this time have very little scallop if at all. They more have a rounded appearance, Swap with rears and they stay flat for a good 5k miles. If I rotated every 5k there would likely be very even wear.

They are great on ice, the rubber compound doesn't harden up. When stopping if the truck starts to slide coming to a light at 15-20mph I may have to drop into neutral to stop the truck, and it'll slow right down without sliding. That is the torque pushing the truck. At a stop on packed hard snow or ice mix, when in 2wd in gear the tires will rotate while on the brake if I use light braking. Again its the truck, not the tires.

Deep snow around 12"+ they do fine in 4wd and 4-5" mud, they also dig well. I can probably credit this to the very textured sidewalls.
The treads clean out ok, not the best, but they aren't open aggressive. So they will fill up a bit depending on terrain.

I am a very real world driver in all kinds of conditions, loaded and unloaded. This is why a detailed review. I hate trying new tires because if they don't perform you are stuck with them. I took a chance on these based on reviews from a few people that gave real world scenario. Not the "great tire, have 600 miles on them" I prefer "I have run these thru the paces for 40k+ and I still have them." I am predicting 70k mileage or so.
Great even wear, stable, responsive, balance great, smooth highway ride @70

Sitting around 52-53k miles on this set (in about a year in a half) Never rotated. Almost perfect treadwear all around and still have probably close to 35-40% tread left.
