Does this tire fit your vehicle?

Tires are designed specifically for different vehicles and wheel sizes. Tell us about your vehicle or the specific size you want so we can help find the right tires for you.

The Pilot Sport 4S is Michelin's Max Performance Summer tire developed in cooperation with some of the most demanding vehicle manufacturers, including Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche to utilize key technologies engineered during competition in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It was designed for serious drivers looking to maximize the performance potential of their sports cars, performance sedans and powerful luxury vehicles. The Pilot Sport 4S excels in warm dry and wet conditions, so like all Max Performance Summer tires, is not intended to be serviced, stored nor driven in near- and below-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4S Premium Touch LogoSelect sizes of the Pilot Sport 4S are available with Michelin's Premium Touch sidewall treatment. This velvet-effect checkered sidewall is created using cutting-edge laser technology and is designed to enhance the vehicle's visual presence. These sizes are identified on the "Specs" page and in the search results.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4SThe asymmetric tread pattern of the Pilot Sport 4S features side-by-side, 24 Hours of Le Mans-derived compounds. The low-void outer shoulder utilizes a new dry-focused hybrid tread rubber for improved dry handling and braking over the previous generation tire, while the center ribs and inboard shoulder feature a silica-infused wet compound designed to increase wet braking performance. The computer-modeled Variable Contact Patch 3.0 optimizes pressure distribution across the contact patch through turns, reducing hot spots and improving tire life during aggressive use.

Internal construction of the Pilot Sport 4S features twin steel belts reinforced by a spirally wound hybrid reinforcement. This hybrid Aramid and nylon belt offers a lightweight, high-strength reinforcement above the steel belts to enhance high-speed handling, wear and durability. Specifically tuning the application of the cord filament provides Michelin engineers the ability to balance tension and strength, and a single-ply, polyester cord casing balances trade-offs between ride quality and responsive handling.

Limited sizes of the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S are available with Michelin Acoustic Technology, which involves the manufacturer adhering a layer of sound-absorbing foam to the inner liner of the tire to reduce cabin noise in the vehicle. These sizes are identified on the Specs page and in the search results.

Select original equipment sizes of the Pilot Sport 4S utilize the Michelin Connected Tire System in conjunction with Michelin Acoustic Technology and can be identified by the specific Acoustic and Bluetooth logos on the tire's sidewall. These tires contain the sound-absorbing foam as well as a sensor designed to communicate specific data about the tire to the vehicle's built-in systems.

Note: Tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.

Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in Max Performance Summer tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. Compound cracking is not a warrantable condition because it occurs as the result of improper use or storage, tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced.

*Specific sizes utilizing Michelin Total Performance eco-focused manufacturing methods are identified as such on the Sizes tab, as well as on the tire's Specs tab.

Winter traction impresses in snow with 8-10 ratings, though ice traction shows occasional 3-7 scores, suggesting mixed results in extreme cold. Wet traction earns 8-10 marks for reliable hydroplaning resistance and confident grip. Dry traction stands out as a highlight, with near-perfect scores praising responsive handling and stability. These Falkens give our RX300 a comfortable and confident ride. Excellent stopping wet or dry, ride quality is above average and is much better that the Bridge stones they replaced. My wife asked how I made her SUV ride so much better....that was good enough for me.

...Traction in the rain is excellent, the ride is excellent, and the tire noise is basically non existent unless on those terrible south Ga backroads...

I bought a set to replace the factory Michelins on my wifes 2015 Ford Edge. The ride changed instantly and stayed the same throughout the life of the tire. Traction in the rain is excellent, the ride is excellent, and the tire noise is basically non existent unless on those terrible south Ga backroads. The tires did wear prematurely due to me not rotating properly, but Falken went above and beyond and still went through with their tread wear warranty. Re-purchased the tires and will report back on how the new set wears.

The handling, whether in dry, in wet, in light snow, in slightly icy, has all been excellent...

The handling, whether dry, wet, light snow, slightly icy, has all been excellent. I originally researched these tires with an eye towards better traction/stopping than the original tires. But while these features did not disappoint, it comes as a severe cost wrt noise, vibration, and rolling resistance/gas mileage, especially at higher speeds. At most speeds both above and below 50mph, mileage has decreased by as much as 10% , the buzz of the tires is relentless at even modest speeds. In cold weather, vibration is that much more evident and annoying. While I am aware that the hatchback configuration of the Outback does not make it particularly quiet, vibration was never evident, and these tires make it considerably noisier. I do feel a bit safer with these tires, but I already felt quite safe. I will definitely look to some other brand or model when I replace them.

I purchased these tires because it was on sale and because it’s a crossover specific tire. These tires are very quiet and comfortable. My steering feels like I’m in a different car (good thing). Takes bumps really well. We just had our first big (16”-18”) of snow and these tires did not disappoint. I was shocked how well they did for a touring tire. These thing grip quick when I was playing a little. Definitely will be purchasing these again in the future.

...They handle very well in dry conditions... Steering feel and cornering in the dry are especially good...

I purchased the Falken Ziex CT60 AS to replace a set of Pirelli Cinturato P7 AS II's that I really liked. I did consider purchasing the the P7 AS Plus 3, but I was able to save $100 with the set of 4 Falkens and I am planning to replce the vehicle in less than a year. So I purchased these Falkens with the intention of putting a more budget-friendly tire (although not a huge savings) on my vehicle during the short time before I sell it.

Having said all that... I am very pleasantly surprised with these Falkens. They handle very well in dry conditions and alsmost as well in wet. Steering feel and cornering in the dry are especially good. They aren't as quiet as the Pirellis, but they aren't loud either. I think I gave the Pirellis an 8 for noise and these I gave a 7. I will say, in regard to noise, the Falkens do emit a "bong" sound over expansion joints on the highway. Sounds like an over-inflated basketball.

...The handle well. I do not feel the slip/roll feeling that I was getting in the other. I am confident with these tires on the vehicle...

Compared to the Scorpions I had on the vehicle, these are amazing. Part of that could be the wear and years I had on the other pair and these being new. I did opt to get the small SUV/light truck tire this time with the Falken. Glad I did. I do feel the ride is smoother. The handle well. I do not feel the slip/roll feeling that I was getting in the other. I am confident with these tires on the vehicle. The tread pattern is nice. I have had some wet driving, but not enough to rate the tires for that. No hydroplaning issues at this point. They do seem quieter than the previous set. This is the first time I have purchased Falken for this vehicle. I did use a set of performance tires on a previous car. We will see how well these do over time. I am very happy with this purchase at this time, so I see no reason I would not purchase again.

I purchased this tire because of the treadwear rating, warranty, and relative to price. Over 35,000 miles, I've had 3 rotations, and I'd say the tires are close to done - mostly city driving with some freeway driving. I have about 1mm left before reaching the treadwear line. Tires lasted about 2 1/2 years. Not as impressed as I was hoping to be.
