Does this tire fit your vehicle?

Tires are designed specifically for different vehicles and wheel sizes. Tell us about your vehicle or the specific size you want so we can help find the right tires for you.

The Pilot Sport 4S is Michelin's Max Performance Summer tire developed in cooperation with some of the most demanding vehicle manufacturers, including Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche to utilize key technologies engineered during competition in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It was designed for serious drivers looking to maximize the performance potential of their sports cars, performance sedans and powerful luxury vehicles. The Pilot Sport 4S excels in warm dry and wet conditions, so like all Max Performance Summer tires, is not intended to be serviced, stored nor driven in near- and below-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4S Premium Touch LogoSelect sizes of the Pilot Sport 4S are available with Michelin's Premium Touch sidewall treatment. This velvet-effect checkered sidewall is created using cutting-edge laser technology and is designed to enhance the vehicle's visual presence. These sizes are identified on the "Specs" page and in the search results.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4SThe asymmetric tread pattern of the Pilot Sport 4S features side-by-side, 24 Hours of Le Mans-derived compounds. The low-void outer shoulder utilizes a new dry-focused hybrid tread rubber for improved dry handling and braking over the previous generation tire, while the center ribs and inboard shoulder feature a silica-infused wet compound designed to increase wet braking performance. The computer-modeled Variable Contact Patch 3.0 optimizes pressure distribution across the contact patch through turns, reducing hot spots and improving tire life during aggressive use.

Internal construction of the Pilot Sport 4S features twin steel belts reinforced by a spirally wound hybrid reinforcement. This hybrid Aramid and nylon belt offers a lightweight, high-strength reinforcement above the steel belts to enhance high-speed handling, wear and durability. Specifically tuning the application of the cord filament provides Michelin engineers the ability to balance tension and strength, and a single-ply, polyester cord casing balances trade-offs between ride quality and responsive handling.

Limited sizes of the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S are available with Michelin Acoustic Technology, which involves the manufacturer adhering a layer of sound-absorbing foam to the inner liner of the tire to reduce cabin noise in the vehicle. These sizes are identified on the Specs page and in the search results.

Select original equipment sizes of the Pilot Sport 4S utilize the Michelin Connected Tire System in conjunction with Michelin Acoustic Technology and can be identified by the specific Acoustic and Bluetooth logos on the tire's sidewall. These tires contain the sound-absorbing foam as well as a sensor designed to communicate specific data about the tire to the vehicle's built-in systems.

Note: Tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.

Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in Max Performance Summer tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. Compound cracking is not a warrantable condition because it occurs as the result of improper use or storage, tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced.

*Specific sizes utilizing Michelin Total Performance eco-focused manufacturing methods are identified as such on the Sizes tab, as well as on the tire's Specs tab.

Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 Reviews

Ratings highlight excellence in dry traction (9-10 scores dominate) with customers praising sharp cornering and responsive steering, key strengths for a summer tire. Wet traction also impresses, scoring 8-10 with reliable hydroplaning resistance. Comfort earns consistent 7-10 marks for smooth handling, though some note moderate road noise. Treadwear scores 7-10, with many users reporting durable performance even under spirited driving. While a few lower comfort and treadwear scores exist, feedback aligns with the tire's ultra-high performance summer focus, emphasizing grip and control over plushness. Ideal for drivers prioritizing dynamic dry/wet handling in warm conditions.

These are probably the most underrated tire out there. I drive extremely hard and the way these tires hold up anywhere from super hwy speeds to back road cornering and downpour rains…. They exceed expectation every time. I have enjoyed them so much that I purchased a set for my E63 AMG and they have impressed me with how they hold up even with that high powered car. I typically prefer to drive with ps4’s or with some Bridgestones but moving forward these will be my choice for a while

...It grips well, the noise is minimal, and the handling is great, even during a cold, wet Atlanta winter.

When I purchased my 2018 F-Type coupe last year, it had a set of Hankook V12 Evo's on it. I would say the handling and grip were average at best. The rears would struggle to hook up even in the summer. Fast forward a year later, I needed a set of rear tires so I decided to change the whole set.

Years ago, I had an C63 AMG and I ran the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s on it. I was happy with them but I believed the torque and hp of that vehicle was a tad bit much for the Firehawk's compound. With that being said, the 340hp of the F-type and the Firestone i500 is the perfect balance. It grips well, the noise is minimal, and the handling is great, even during a cold, wet, Atlanta winter. Most of all, these are a fantastic value and very comparable to other high end performance tires like Michelin Pilot 4s. Eight years late, this tire still impresses me.

...The cornering was improved immensely far more than I would have expected. I have three sets of tires for my Audi and these tires are by far the absolute best handling, grippy of the bunch...

I put these tires in just before selling my Porsche. I have a set of these I run in the summer on my Audi A5 Cabriolet that have been awesome. They are a tremendous value for the money. So with just a 100 or less on the Porsche I can't speak to it much other than I enjoyed running them for a week or two before selling it. I have three sets of tires for my Audi and these tires are by far the absolute best handling, grippy of the bunch. The cornering was improved immensely far more than I would have expected. Wear was even across the tread. My only complaint might be that they likely won't deliver long life...maybe 35,000 miles...could be more we'll see. But the trade off in just performance alone, even if you aren't using the car is well worth it. I was sad when I heard they were looking at discontinuing the tires, but obviously they didn't because later I was able to put them on the 911. I'd buy them again in a minute unless you planned on winter driving, but I've snow tires for that if needed. Rain...terrific, dry...terrific, noise...not noticeable.

...Road noise, wet and dry traction, price, and tire wear all get excellent marks...

These Firehawks continue to be one of the best bang for your buck tires out there. The “tire snobs” will tell you nothing beats ____ , but not everyone needs crazy expensive summer tires for their daily. Road noise, wet and dry traction, price, and tire wear all get excellent marks. This is our third set on three different cars and getting ready to purchase another set to replace the first set we got that have about 4 spring/summer/fall seasons on them. Very happy with them.

...Comfort is surprisingly smooth and these tires are very quiet...

Setup: 275/40R20 front & 305/35R20 rear.
Excellent dry traction when cornering, especially on hot days. They keep my 4250lb charger glued to the road in hard cornering. It's easy to unintentionally spin them under moderate to hard acceleration from a stand still (under dry and wet conditions) when the tires are cold. They do reasonably well in wet conditions given the type of tire they are, however be wary of standing water (even a little bit) as hydroplaning is this tire's Achilles heel. I've even managed to drive (carefully) on these on dry snow, but if there's even a small amount of ice or wet snow - don't even try. Comfort is surprisingly smooth and these tires are very quiet. Tread wear at a little over 15k miles is much better than I expected. The best quality of these tires is that they are very forgiving at their limits. Overall a ---- good tire for the price and I'll definitely buy these again when the time comes.

...Tread live is honestly really good. I'm surprised because I drive my car! I've put about 25k miles on these and they still look pretty meaty...

I'm in the market for new tires for another car but thought I'd make a review for these while I'm here.

I originally drove Yokohama S Drives and those were really good tires. They were discontinued so I got these and wow, gotta give credit where it's due!

These tires are really good all around. I've driven them through some pretty nasty downpours here in California (so bad you couldn't see the road) and they held up great at mid to low speeds. At higher speeds with milder wet conditions they held up great again. There was no sketchy/scary loss of traction and made me feel comfortable and confident in the rain.

Dry performance is as expected. Grippy like a roller coaster. They're pretty wore in now so I imagine they're on the downhill side but from new to about pretty recently they've been fantastic.

I've put about 25k miles on these and they still look pretty meaty. When these tire wear out completely I will be getting another new set of these.

Hope this helps, stay safe out there 👍

...I have used them for 25k miles now and have rotated them every 5,000 miles I still have enough treat to last me another 15k miles! All of the other all-season tires I've ran on this car have worn exponentially faster than these Firestone's cause of the lack of grip, even in 245 width sizes!...

Absolutely in love with this tire! This is my first set of summer tires on my GTI. I have ran Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+'s, Yokohoma Advan A/S's, Continental DWS 06's, and several other all-season tires on this car before getting these Firestone's. While those tires were great for all-season weather, especially in snowy conditions, they lacked big time in cornering capabilities. S I gave these Firestone's a shot.

I was immediately impressed with how grippy these Firestone's were. Totally transformed my GTI when it came to handling and cornering. I was also very impressed with how well they did in the wet. We get monsoons in AZ and these tires never disappointed me in heavy rain. Another thing I was very impressed with was its wear. I have used them for 25k miles now and have rotated them every 5,000 miles I still have enough treat to last me another 15k miles! I mostly use them in city traffic, but I also take the car up the canyons often and get on the car pretty hard (400whp/380ft/lb). These tires grip so well that they have really cut down on how much my car spins in 1-3rd gear. All of the other all-season tires I've ran on this car have worn exponentially faster than these Firestone's cause of the lack of grip., even in 245 width sizes!

I run these Firestone's n 225 width currently, only because there was an amazing deal on the 225's at the time. I plan on getting these same Firestones inn 245 width next time I need tires. I don't plan on ever going with another tire. That is how good these tires have treated me.
